Jamie is heartbroken at Frankie's departure and is determined to find out who informed Danny of their split. Violet is in pain all morning at work. Eileen forces Jason to take care of Holly while she goes to work.

Violet is taken to hospital, suffering from internal bleeding. Janice enjoys a brief encounter with a plumber summoned to service the heating in her flat. Liam speculates about his new business partner.

Paul reveals that he is Underworld's new senior partner, leaving Liam feeling humiliated. Violet comes to terms with the possible ramifications of her ordeal. Janice calls Roger when her heating breaks down again.

Carla is furious with Paul for buying the factory with the money earmarked for her children's clothing enterprise. Janice is left speechless when Roger makes a proposition. Tracy worries Deirdre by inventing a head injury.

Sarah delights Jason by suggesting they give their relationship another go for the sake of Bethany and Holly. Steve uses Ryan in an attempt to sabotage Michelle's date with Sonny. Janice decides to go to France with Roger.

Deirdre and Ken are pleased when Peter returns to Weatherfield to keep an eye on Tracy. Norris and Roy form rival teams for the Rovers pub quiz. Fiz and Joanne take umbrage at having an increased workload while Kelly works for Carla.

Peter feels the full force of Charlie's temper as Tracy is powerless to stop her jealous boyfriend from launching a violent attack on her step-brother. In the Rovers, Norris, Roy, Steve and Michelle take the quiz very seriously. Fiz and Joanne make amends with Kelly.

After a night spent in a police cell, Charlie decides that he has finally had enough of Tracy's games. Becky arranges to meet Rob for a drink. Liam is unhappy at how Carla has taken over his office.

Charlie sets off for his court appearance. Tracy seems to be having second thoughts, but a chat with Claire makes her determined to carry out her plan. Becky arrives late for work following her night with Rob.

Part 2 / A stunned Charlie tries to get up, but falls to his knees. Tracy comes down hard again with the ornament. She grabs a knife from the kitchen and comes for Charlie. The noise from No.6 causes Claire to rush to the Barlows' house for help. Deirdre, Peter and Ken knock on the door causing Tracy to rethink her actions. She places the knife in Charlie's hand and cuts herself with it. As the commotion begins to build outside, Peter threatens to break the door down. Tracy strews her clothes everywhere and makes it look like a struggle has taken place. She phones 999...

Tracy is questioned by the police and released on bail. Jason and Sarah keep a vigil at Charlie's hospital bedside. Kelly has a quiet word with Rob about Becky.

Fearing that Charlie will survive and tell the truth, Tracy convinces Steve to believe her story. The police quiz Gail and Claire about the goings-on next door. Fiz is concerned for Chesney's welfare.

Jason and Maria watch helplessly as Charlie dies in hospital. Believing that her plan has worked, Tracy is horrified when the police take her to the station for further questioning. Carla gatecrashes Michelle's date with Sonny.

The Barlows attend Tracy's court appearance in the hope that she will be released on bail. Jason tells the police his side of the story. Bill reveals that his marriage is over and he is back to stay.

Fiz invites Chesney to stay at the salon flat until Les proves himself capable of taking care of him. Deirdre and Ken visit Tracy in prison. Audrey agrees to let Bill move in with her.

The Barlows are divided when Tracy demands they pay for a better solicitor to take on her case. Les begs Chesney to return but Fiz will not hear of it. Liam and Paul tackle Carla about her commandeering Underworld for her own purposes.

Les looks forward to getting back to normal as Cilla returns to Weatherfield, but his problems are just beginning. Deirdre and Ken meet Tracy's new solicitor. Jason finds it hard to juggle work and childcare duties.

Fiz, Les and Kirk go in search of Chesney and Schmeichel, while Cilla informs the police. Jason is daunted by the prospect of organising Charlie's funeral. Ken's trepidation at financing Tracy's defence angers Deirdre.

Tracy spends her thirtieth birthday behind bars, but her solicitor seems confident of a speedy release. Cilla is unhappy at Chesney choosing to live with Fiz. Norris tries to stimulate Rita's interest in tracing old friends via the internet.

Tracy causes a stir at Charlie's funeral. David comforts Maria but misreads her gratitude for affection. Kelly irritates Joanne with her lusting after Liam. Fiz finds it hard to adjust to full-time parenting.

Rejected by Maria, a vengeful David decides to let the world know about Charlie's attempt to drown him. Carla decides to get back at Paul for missing their anniversary date. Violet is fed up with her friends' sympathy and pity.

After convincing Gail of his story, David tells the police he witnessed Charlie's killing. Ken and Deirdre are thrilled when Tracy is released on bail. Liam makes a move on Joanne.

Tracy tries frantically to speak to David in order to find out exactly what he saw of Charie's murder. Jodie Morton arrives and demands Jason complete work on the old bakery in time for the opening of her family's new business. Roy frets when Becky takes his collection of comic books to the car boot sale.

David tells Tracy he knows she murdered Charlie on purpose. Roy and Hayley decide to purchase a car with the proceeds of the sale of the comics. Becky is perturbed when Slug pops into the café.

After pacifying David and receiving sympathy from her neighbours, Tracy decides to let her hair down. Becky meets up with Slug and is unable to repulse his strong influence over her. Joanne feels guilty about deceiving Adam.

Becky is filled with regret upon waking in the Croppers' car in the middle of nowhere. The Barlows are disgusted at Tracy for staying out all night. Joanne dumps Adam with a text message.

Steve offends Michelle with his attitude towards Sonny. Sean comes face-to-face with a blast from the past. Cilla is summoned to a meeting with Chesney's headmaster. Norris is bothered by a woman hanging around The Kabin all morning.

Sean demands an explanation from Sonny. Rita and Doreen reminisce about their days as dancing girls. With Blanche voicing disdain at her behaviour, Tracy finds a sympathetic ear in Steve.

Blanche sabotages Tracy's date but, in doing so, brings her closer to Steve. Sean's friends are puzzled as to what is the matter with him. Jason lets Sarah down when he cannot handle the pressure of Jodie's demands.

Joanne finally snaps and stuns Kelly with the revelation of her relationship with Liam. Sarah intervenes to ensure that Jason accepts Bill's help with the bakery job. Tracy asks Steve to help her organise Amy's birthday party.

Fiz is struggling to find enough money to provide for Chesney, and when Cilla refuses to give her any, she takes action. Steve and Tracy grow closer during Amy's birthday celebrations. Norris disapproves of Rita and Doreen's fun.

Eileen pretends to work on her day off so that Jason will have to look after Holly. Steve is keen to forget his liaison with Tracy. Rita is suffering from a severe hangover after a night out with Doreen.

Jason panics when he cannot find Holly anywhere. Chesney pays a secret visit to Les and Cilla's house. Steve is pleased when he senses that Michelle is jealous of Tracy.

Jason's anonymous phone call leads to an impromptu investigation by the social worker, and Eileen is incensed that they have been reported. Sophie ensures that Norris receives a Valentine's Day card. Chesney lies to Fiz and spends another lunchtime with Cilla.

Becky is hurt when Hayley firmly rejects her peace offering. Sally is astonished to realise that Norris is flirting with her. Fiz finds out that Chesney has lied to her. Eileen and Claire come to a mutually satisfactory job and childcare arrangement.

Roy and Hayley come to terms with the damage wrought by the fire, and rue the day they put their trust in Becky. Carla and Paul row when he fails to take her business deal seriously. Fiz is missing Chesney. Molly receives a job offer.

Tracy's solicitor gives David a grilling in preparation for the trial, leaving him with doubts about taking the stand. Hayley tries to redeem Becky's reputation. Molly skips work at the kennels to attend an interview at the Corner Shop.

Terrified at the thought of losing his testimony, Tracy makes David a rash promise which he is only too happy to exploit. Despite Amber's interference, Molly and Dev come to an arrangement. Claire asks Ashley to help her prepare for her volunteer work.

The Barlows get a shock when the court rules that they are not eligible to receive legal aid for Tracy's defence. Hayley goes in search of Becky in the hope of a reconciliation. Jack offers Vernon some tips on how to dodge his cellarman duties.

The Streetcars lads' night out throws up some interesting surprises for Sean and Steve. Tyrone acquires a metal detector, while Kirk gives Fiz an ant farm. Carla realises she has made a costly error with her children's clothes business.

Sean cannot conceal the news of his illicit kiss from his friends, but only a smug Steve knows the identity of his conquest. Rita celebrates her birthday with Doreen, much to Norris' chagrin. Molly, Tyrone, Fiz and Kirk set out with the metal detector in search of buried treasure.

Chesney's metal-detecting unearths an unexploded bomb in the Peacocks' back garden. Jamie allows Sean to meet with Sonny at Number 7 so that they can clear the air. The residents are evacuated to the Community Centre.

While the residents continue to await the all-clear, the bomb disposal unit executes a controlled explosion. Sonny and Sean have to lie brazenly in order to keep their rendezvous a secret. Becky introduces Carla to Kasia, a new recruit to the factory evening shifts.

Eileen is pleased when Jason starts to show signs of affection for Holly. The factory staff discover that the night workers have been touching their belongings. Michelle is curious when Sonny asks her out for lunch so that they can discuss things.

Sonny takes Michelle's breath away when he reveals the reason for their special lunch date. Jamie is taken by surprise when he is called to pick up an old flame from the station. A new worker at Underworld has the workers fearing for their jobs.

Michelle confronts Sean in an attempt to banish any doubts she may have about Sonny following Steve's outburst. Leanne surprises Les with her return. Rita resolves to spend more time with her long-standing friends.

Liam learns of Steve's story and demands the truth from Sean. Leanne gets Janice's permission to break into her flat. Claire continues to provide support when Casey rings in distress once again.

Sean reluctantly confesses all to an incredulous Michelle. Norris looks forward to his birthday dinner with Rita. David tells Tracy he cannot wait until after the trial for his reward. Leanne resists Liam's attempt to ask her out.

Tracy borrows the keys to Charlie's flat and meets David there, unaware that she has been seen. Liz intervenes when Michelle and Sean struggle to work together. Leanne offers to buy Number 7 from the landlord and keep Jamie on as tenant.

Michelle tells Ryan of her split from Sonny. Sarah demands that Tracy explain her clandestine meetings with David. Vernon pushes his luck with Steve and Liz, having not been home all night and failing to turn in for work.

The Barlows face up to life without Tracy, while Steve wonders how to break the news of her imprisonment to Amy. Hayley challenges Joanne about her bullying of the foreign workers and receives a startling confession. Darryl and Mel plan their eighteenth birthday party.

The police turn up at Underworld having received information that there are illegal immigrants among the staff. Michelle offers Steve some encouragement as he faces the future as a full-time single parent. Jerry gets suspicious when Kayleigh pays a visit.

Ken and Deirdre visit Tracy in prison. Hayley orders Janice to confess to calling the immigration authorities. Bill decides to buy the builders' yard and asks Kevin to invest.

Eileen gets a shock when Holly's mother turns up on her doorstep. Kayleigh is caught shoplifting in the Corner Shop. Ken finds it impossible to say the right thing to a hostile Deirdre.

Eileen refuses to hand over Holly, and sends Emma on her way. Jerry collects Kayleigh and Finlay's belongings and insists the pair stay at Number 6. Steve and Dev enjoy another round of golf with Paul.

Darryl and Mel celebrate their eighteenth birthday with a lively party at Number 6. Eileen receives a visit from the social worker. Joanne makes a surprise return to Underworld. Liz instructs Vernon to find some work.

Jason struggles to come to terms with his feelings towards Holly in light of Eileen's revelation. Liz is in for a surprise when Vernon appears to be a changed man. Bill's offer for the builder's yard is accepted.

Eileen is adamant that Holly should stay at Number 11, but Jason is happy for Emma to take her back. Carla organises an all-night shift at Underworld so as to meet her order's deadline. Vernon fails to turn up for a dinner date with Liz.

As the all-night shift comes to an end, a tragic accident lands the Connors in big trouble. Vernon is contrite about missing his date with Liz. Eileen fails to persuade Jason to join the fight for Holly.

Paul lies to the police about the circumstances of Kasia's death in order to protect Carla. Teresa turns up at Jerry's demanding the return of her belongings. Gail feels helpless when David does not go to school.

An unpleasant experience at work leaves Leanne in need of cheering up. The factory workers are suspicious of the Connors' explanation of Kasia's accident. Kevin advises Bill to show Audrey a sign of commitment.

Claire prepares to make peace with the Mortons, unaware of the danger lurking around the corner. Leanne finds herself under suspicion when she fails to find a villa for Dev. Rita uncovers Doreen's deception.

The blaze at Number 4 is spotted and Claire is dragged from the flames. Deirdre goes to make peace with Ken. The firefighters search in vain in the hope of rescuing Freddie.

Claire recovers in hospital where Eileen breaks the news of Freddie's demise. Ashley rushes home to hear of shocking developments from the police. Leanne makes an important decision.

Ashley and Claire learn that Freddie was not in the house during the fire. Michelle and Steve resort to using an unusual setting in order to spend time together. Fiz and John meet to declare their feelings.

Liz goes to spy on Derek's wife at work. Claire fears that someone wanted to kill her by setting her house alight. Violet introduces Gary to her friends. Fiz and John spend a romantic evening together.

Claire is astonished that the police appear to suspect her of starting the fire. Liz and Derek narrowly escape being caught together by Linda. Fiz breaks Kirk's heart by telling him she is seeing someone else.

Janice is disgusted when Leanne returns to prostitution to fund her stake in the restaurant. The police question Ashley about Claire's history of mental illness. Norris contrives to build bridges between Rita and Doreen.

With Liam and Janice in hot pursuit, Paul takes Leanne for the ride of her life. Michelle is baffled by Carla's drunken bitterness. Sarah is incensed when David scuppers her plan to move Jason in.

Michelle decides to stay away from the hospital, aware that Paul's hours are numbered. Leanne begs for understanding from an unforgiving Liam. David stuns Gail with a bombshell concerning his GCSE exams.

The Connors begin to come to terms with Paul's death. Denise tells Ken how much she has enjoyed his company during his stay. Kelly spreads gossip about Leanne and incurs Janice's wrath.

Ken decides to return to Deirdre and bids farewell to Denise. The Connors depart for Ireland for Paul's funeral. David brags to Amber that he has finished with school forever.

David surprises everyone by going to school for his Geography exam. Deirdre and Ken are delighted to be together again. Ashley and Claire return from their holiday.

Amber is astonished at David's behaviour as he walks out of school leaving havoc in his wake. Fiz is unable to bring herself to tell Kirk about John. Jason proves to be the star turn at Bethany's birthday party.

Gail finds David a job, while Jason agrees to move in and keep an eye on him. Claire fears for her safety after receiving an anonymous telephone call. Sophie reacts badly to the news of Fiz and John's relationship.

Ashley believes that Claire is paranoid and worries for her mental health. Bill and Jason enjoy teasing David when he starts work at the builders' yard. Fiz learns of Sophie's feelings for John.

Claire and Ashley row over his refusal to take her concerns seriously. David makes Jason feel uncomfortable by pretending to be gay. Jerry is left disappointed when Eileen's mystery suitor turns up at the cab office.

Claire triumphantly presents the photograph of Casey to the police. The Connors return from Ireland. Pat takes Eileen for dinner. Blanche is shocked to discover that Wilf is alive.

Liam struggles to cope as he returns to the factory for the first time since Paul's death. Claire is confident that the photograph will soon lead to Casey's arrest. Michelle declares that Ryan must not know the truth about his uncle.

Michelle's determination to keep the truth about Paul from Ryan backfires on her. Claire refuses to allow Casey to get away with attempted murder and goes to confront her. Hayley finds herself in charge of Underworld again.

Steve feels pushed away by Michelle, whose main concern is Ryan's welfare. Janice is nervous about seeing Roger again. Gail recruits Audrey to help her to control David's unruly behaviour.

Leanne demands to know Carla's intentions regarding the restaurant. In spite of Ken's disapproval, Blanche remains determined to host her own wake. The factory workers continue to take advantage of Hayley's lack of authority.

Leanne is determined to go ahead with buying the restaurant on her own. Blanche is hurt when her friends do not seem to consider her to be worth mourning. Hayley's patience with her colleagues wears thin.

Janice asks Roger to lend Leanne the money to buy the restaurant. Sean is shocked when Violet reveals that she is enquiring about undergoing fertility treatment. David begins work at the salon.
