Blanche's constant sniping proves too much for a furious Deirdre. The auction of promises at the Rovers results in some serious bidding wars. Betty pours out her heart to an uncharacteristically sympathetic Tracy.

Roy panics when he discovers that the virtual baby has stopped breathing until Hayley points out that it was only programmed for a week and it's switched itself off. Norris flips through Rita's address book and comments that it's full of men but few women. Janice and Cilla have a catfight over Les. Cilla thinks Janice still fancies him. Janice enjoys winding her up. Deirdre feels guilty when she finds Blanche's suitcases in the hall until she discovers that they're empty and Blanche was trying to make her feel guilty. They have a huge row and Deirdre insists she moves...

Tracy is miffed that she now has Blanche living with her - especially as they had to share a bed. Janice claims her prize of Les being her slave for the day. She subcontracts him out to the factory girls. Tracy wants rid of Blanche so tries to act as peacemaker between Blanche and Deirdre but to no avail. Shelley finds Eric to be amusing company during their meal but she is not laughing once he takes her back to his house. Distraught at Kirk's disappearance, Fiz enlists Tyrone's help in returning the ring to the jeweller's shop. Candice embarrasses Eileen with her attempt to be thoughtful.

Kirk hides from Fiz at the Battersbys' house, afraid to admit that he's not on the run any more because he was homesick. Norris tells Rita that the Gazette delivery hasn't arrived so that she doesn't see the article about her. Rita's solicitor, Leah Mirrelson, warns her that, without witnesses, the case will come down to whom the magistrates believe - an injured child, or her. It's the morning of the wedding, and Steve is suffering from last minute nerves. Blanche confirms that she wants Tracy out of the house by dinner time. Liz calls round to see how Karen is. Part 2 / Roy and Hayley flee the church with Patience but Tracy vows to follow them. Karen is completely devastated as Steve begs her to hear his explanation. The wedding guests are baffled by the shocking turn of events.

Steve persuades Karen to go ahead with the ceremony. Ken and Deirdre agree to help Tracy get her baby back from the Croppers. The reception begins and the photographer takes advantage of the free drinks.

Backed by her family, Tracy demands her baby from the Croppers. Dev gets a surprise when he accompanies Maya on her lunch date. Fred listens attentively as Penny offloads about Mike.

Maya unsuccessfully drops hints to Dev that his father thought her as marriage material. Dev later tells Eileen that he is not the marrying kind. Meanwhile, Maya finds out from Ciaran that Dev has been engaged at least twice before to Sunita and Geena. Dev comes back from work in Eccles to find Maya flirting with Ciaran in the Rovers.
