On this special, hourlong trip, Guy's taking us on a tour of Ferndale, Calif., which is not only his hometown, but one of many small towns in Humboldt County with righteous food and a whole lotta flair.

Guy gets a taste of New York, including a Bronx-bred pizza chef in Eureka, Cal.; a former filmmaker known for his spicy atomic fireballs in Queens; and seasonal sandwiches served at a farm-to-table spot in the Lower East Side.

In NYC's East Village, the neighborhood spot plating up a standout burger worthy of a four-star review. In Eureka, Calif., the popular hangout is servin' up all kinds of local favorites, including roasted oysters and wild mushroom cobbler.

Asian-fusion cuisine, including Brussels sprouts and sous vide Sammie in Miami, Florida; and a soul food spot in Eureka, Calif., that features fried jerk chicken and shrimp-and-crawfish etouffee. Also: chef Geoffrey Zakarian joins Guy for pizza in midtown New York City.

In New York's Lower East Side, the sibling spot starting at the very beginning - pickling, smoking, curing and fermenting, everything from the goat necks to chicken wings to pig ears.

Highlights of a trip to Key West, Florida include a funky little shack servin' up New England seafood with coastal twists; a husband/wife team dishing up standout fish tacos; a tiny food cart specializing in Caribbean-Asian recipes.

Guy tries a chimi burrito and lobster lollipops at a Miami watering hole known for its unique spin on standard bar food; and, in Sandy, Utah, he eats pizza topped with white beans and steak, plus potato croquettes made with Canadian bacon.

Comfort food is highlighted, beginning with spicy oxtail and ragu served by a former law student in Miami. Also: a chivito club and chicken bowl with rice in Park City, Utah; and a mom-and-pop ski lodge known for its osso buco.

Family-run restaurants with international flare are featured, beginning in Holladay, Utah, where Guy meets siblings who serve Vietnamese delicacies, including pho and bahn mi. Other highlights: kalbi ribs and mochiko chicken in Hawaii; and a Greek joint in Salt Lake City, known for grilled octopus and lamb tacos.

Highlights of a trip to Hawaii include a family-run Filipino restaurant known for its lechon special and pork-adobo fried rice; and a tiny café in Kailua that serves red-curry fish and Mandarin duck confit.

In Miami, Guy meets a husband and wife who serve up classic Americana fare w/ a 21st century twist; and he visits a taco truck in Orange County, Cal., known for its drunken torta and green chicken chilaquiles; huli-huli chicken in Oahu.

Guy tries the "Fat Jerry" sandwich at "Fat Sal's Deli" in Los Angeles; and, on the pier in Monterey, California, he visits a place serving fresh abalone sliders and a seasonal crab feast.
