Guy visits neighborhood joints on the West Coast, like a San Diego breakfast place serving up crème brulee French toast; classic American dishes, like chipped beef, in Portland, Ore.; a San Francisco hot dog spot known for its lamb merguez.

Guy Fieri takes a meat-crazed master class with master butchers at a family restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Specialties include head-cheese and their great-grandmother's fried chicken.

Guy Fieri cruises the San Francisco coast for a diverse culinary road trip. He begins with spicy shrimp & gravy & braised beef short ribs. Also: a New York-style deli serves potato latkes & old-fashioned chicken noodle with matzo ball soup.

A festival of flavors along the West Coast include a Guamanian food truck in Portland, Ore., serving shrimp fritter & its own unique take on chicken salad; a Wheat Ridge, Colo., joint specializing in comfort food (cannoli & kraut burgers).

This trip, Guy's hittin' up some joints that are authentic to the bone. Included: a joint in Santa Fe, N.M., for blue corn enchiladas with red chile sauce and chiles en nogada; a noodle house specializing in Chinese dishes in Portland, Ore.

In Santa Fe, N.M., the cafe with a native Kenyan in the kitchen serving up totally fresh fish. And in Albuquerque, N.M., the school lunch maven crankin' out creative sammies like turkey avocado with green apple chile chutney.

This trip, Guy's gettin' a variety of Thanksgiving tastes and treasures.

Guy sets off in search of comfort food for the soul and ends up at a funky neighborhood café in Portland, Oregon, that's known for its "heartless artichoke sandwich", as well as a curried lentil dish.

This trip, Guy's checking out some tried & true local faves, including pork hash with black beans at a neighborhood joint in Kansas City; and homemade pasta prepared by the former chef to the president of Italy.

This trip, Guy's headed south of the border to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. On the town's main drag, the taco joint that's turning out totally fresh octopus tacos and Guadalajaran-inspired sauces that'll knock your socks off.

Guy explores holiday traditions in Tennessee, where he visits a barbecue joint, in Hendersonville, that's known for its shoulder pull and fiery ham. Also: tamales and quinoa-sweet potato tacos in Nashville.

In Nashville, the husband/wife duo taking to the streets in their gourmet food truck. And in Kansas City, Mo., the sibling-owned Chinese joint is sharing some of their family traditions.

This trip, Guy's diving into all kinds of classic comfort foods. In Kansas City, Mo., the real deal chef serving up his dressed-up version of comfort food with dishes like chicken pot pie and steamed mussels.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives are popular again thanks to faithful baby boomers, a slew of younger fans and a whole new generation of owners.
