Lorraine and Don sing 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas'. Lorraine looks at the Christmas tree's decorations. They sing about being a wooden doll on a Christmas Tree. Lorraine tells the story of the nativity using wooden figurines. Don sings about baby Jesus in the manger. Through the round window two children deliver presents to their grandmother and eat fruit mince pies. Lorraine, Marianne and Don sing 'Ding Dong Merrily on High'. Marianne sings 'Little Drummer Boy'. Lorraine and Ken build a house from different shaped boxes. Poem of week is "Key of the Kingdom". Film is of a brick layer building a wall. Lorraine builds a wall with shoe box bricks. She reads the story "Are you my Mother?". Ken mimes being a tree and sings a tree song.

Lorraine and Ken build up sounds with different instruments. Ken dresses as a drummer and plays the bass drum and the side drum. Stanley tells the story of "The Stamping Elephant". Film is of drummers. Lorraine dresses as a drum Majorette and she and Ken march and sing.

The budgies are given a nesting box and Lorraine shows a wild bird's nest. Ken reads the story "Straw for a Nest". Lorraine mentions that other creatures besides birds hatch from eggs. Film is of crocodiles hatching. The visitor is a baby crocodile. Ken talks about crocodiles and Lorraine sings "She sailed away".

Lorraine and Ken look at a variety of keys. Lorraine mimes a clockwork doll. Ken reads the story: "The King, the Mice and the Cheese". Lorraine has built a kingdom for the toys and she dresses up as a Queen. Ken is the King.

Lorraine and Ken plant onions, carrots and potatoes. Stanley tells a Native American story and illustrates it with hand movements. Lorraine uses some potatoes to print with and builds up different pictures with the potato shapes. Ken tries to build a pyramid of potatoes. Lorraine prepares a salad for Stanley and Ken.

Darlene and Don make a hand puppet. Don sings "Put your Finger on your Nose". He tells a story of himself and his nephew Peter on a walk and he illustrates it with photos. Darlene uses different items to make a variety of sounds. Don joins her with a drum and trumpet. She mimes the conducting of an orchestra. Film is of an orchestra. They dance their puppet to music.

Don dresses as a hairdresser and washes and dries Darlene's hair. Film is of animals being beautified and the story is about a vain and dandy lion. Don prepares a party for the toys. Darlene arrives with her freshly set hair. They play and sing a party game.

The visitors for pets day are a cat and her newly born kittens. Don makes a pair of glasses and plays the finger game "Here are Grandma's Glasses". The story is of a girl with poor eye-sight and the Film is of a maternity hospital. Don and Darlene put the toys to bed and sing them a lullaby.

Darlene and Don use paper plates to make some animal masks. Darlene talks about the growth and care of teeth. Film: Child at the dentist. Don and Darlene show different ways of cleaning teeth. Don reads the story: "Who likes What?". He then matches different foods to each animal mask. Darlene takes Jemima shopping to buy some food.

Darlene has a variety of mirrors and shows the use of them. Film: Children at an amusement park "Hall of Mirrors". Don and Darlene set up a screen and lights and make different shadows. Richard Bradshaw uses his shadow puppets to illustrate the story "Mouse, Hippopotamus and Ostrich". The toys act out a shadow play called "The Sad Adventures of Humpty Dumpty".

Anne and Don are in the Play School garden. Anne plants some seeds and Don makes a bird feeding box. The story is "The Best Nest" and the Film shows birds feeding in the winter. Anne mentions that birds live in nests but people live in houses. She shows photos of different homes.

Anne and Don do a matching puzzle game. Don dresses in overalls as a builder. Anne uses the felt board to illustrate the story/verse of "The House that Jack Built". Don builds a house from the blocks for the toys. Film shows the assembling and building of a mobile house. Don and Anne sing and recite various songs and rhymes about houses.

The mice have some babies. The visitor is a Jersey Cow called Daisy which Don milks in studio. The story is told by a mother with her baby and she shows the bathing and feeding of her son. Film is of babies both human and animal, being carried. Don gives the cow a drink and Anne gives her something to eat.

Anne and Don look at a picture book of animals and their young. Anne reads the story "Ask Mr Bear". Don uses the felt board to recap the story with the different animals and their suggested gifts. He plays a finger game about candles and the Film shows a barbecue birthday party. Anne and Don have a slippery dip in studio and give the toys a slide.

Anne and Don cook pop-corn, and Don has a model farm. He explains that most of the food we eat comes from farms. He tells the story of "The Little Red Hen". Anne cooks some sweetcorn and she and Don each eat a cob. Film of farm animals being fed. Anne and Don look at some food from a farm and show bread which has been baked from wheat.

Benita and Alister have a guitar which Alister plays. Benita makes a toy guitar from a cake-tin lid and rubber bands. David sings and tells the story of a pop singer "Spud Wallace". Alister plays a record which he and Benita dances to. Film of a dancing puppet. Alister and Benita shake and move like puppets.

Alister dresses in tie and tails. He acts a waiter and then changes roles to become a musician. Alister shows a violin and then plays a double bass. Benita tells the story of "Patrick and the Violin". The violin in the story was magic and so Alister does some magic tricks. Film shows a magician. Alister wears his tails to be a conductor of an orchestra.

Benita tries to play the flute. Don is introduced and he plays the flute while Alister tells the story of "Flutter the Fluter". The visitor for Pets Day is a cockatoo. Film is of a lyrebird. Alister makes two paper birds and Benita gives the cockatoo a biscuit.

Benita and Alister have a trombone and a trumpet. Story is of a baby called Trumpet who loves listening to brass bands. Film: A Brass Band. Benita shows the making of a bandman's hat from a piece of thin card and she puts bandsmen's hats on the toys. Alister and Benita mime playing in a band.

Alister shows a glockenspiel. He explains that its a percussion instrument and that its played by being hit. He hits a wooden bowl, a metal saucepan and glass bottle to demonstrate the different sounds they make. Film: Percussion Sounds. Story is "Gordon and the Glockenspiel". Benita demonstrates the making of macaroni pictures.

Lorraine and Ken make a small Tractor. Film shows the various uses of tractors. Ken reads the story: "The Little Farm". Lorraine dresses as a farmer and she and Ken sing "If I were a farmer". Lorraine sets up a roadside stall and sells fruit, vegetables and diary produce to Ken the customer.

Today Lorrraine and Ken pretend to visit a "Town Show". Lorraine dresses as a barker at a side-show and Ken dresses as "King Ken the Muscleman". Story is of "Prancer the Carousel Horse". Film shows a variety of horses. Ken has a hoop-la stall and Lorraine tries to win a prize for the toys.

Vincent visits Play School and brings with him, a live diamond python. He tells a story of the shedding of snakes' skins. Ken makes a snake from threaded cotton reels. He and Lorraine play a game of "Snakes and ladders". Film: Bush Animals. Lorraine mimes a kookaburra's laugh.

Lorraine paints a picture of the country and Ken does a painting of the city. Lorraine builds a city with the blocks and she and Ken push toy cars through the city streets. Lorraine tells a story of George Mouse who visits the city. Lorraine and Ken pretend to be in a department store. Film: Shopping in Town.

Lorraine and Ken make a fresh fruit salad. Lorraine reads the story: "Plum Pie" and Ken makes an apple pie. Film shows the growing, picking, packing and selling of fruit. Ken and Lorraine use the toys to play and sing "Oranges and Lemons". Ken takes his apple pie from the oven. Lorraine and Ken sing some pie songs and then start to eat the apple pie.
