Esther is pregnant after her infidelity with Raúl and her wife Maca ask her to leave the house they live in together. Moreover, Maca is working with Claudia and it seems that they get on very well, so Esther is jealous. Maca and Claudia are becoming very good friends and Esther is jealous, but Maca tells Claudia that she misses her ex. Aimé, who likes Claudia, is also worried and asks Héctor if he thinks she might be a lesbian. Esther tells Raúl that she's pregnant with a daughter, and everybody soon knows because Héctor hears Esther talking to Cruz and tells all of their colleagues. Joaquín, Javier's father and the hospital's director, is making absurd decisions and important mistakes in his management. Everybody notices, and after several meetings between the different service bosses, he's fired. Javier tries to make him accept his illness and firing, but he denies the situation; however, he presents his resignation after his firing goes into effect. Esther is going through a very bad time but has Raúl's help; he talks with Maca to try to solve things. She doesn't hear him, but she tells Esther that she can see their son Pedro whenever she wants...

Cruz and Vilches realize that their relationship is worsening; also, their daughter's babysitter comes to the hospital with her husband, a seriously-ill foreigner. Esther and Maca miss each other. Raúl tries to console Esther because Maca says that she's not prepared to forgive Esther and continue their relationship. Carlos arrives at the hospital after the accident and his situation is very worrying, but Javier and Cruz save his life. The police find Raúl's sister's dead body; later her husband confesses that he murdered her and then he commits suicide. Mónica, Raúl's best friend, doesn't know how to help him. Carlos comes out of his coma but doesn't recognize Laura, who talks with doctors and has bad news: Carlos will not walk again. Cruz is worried about Candela, who is behaving strangely since returning from Ireland. Carlos wants to return home, so Laura confesses that he can't because his father is making changes. Although the doctors don't give him much hope, he is convinced that he will walk again. Maca wants to baptize her son, mainly because of her mother's beliefs, but the priest refuses when she tells him that she has a wife instead of a husband; Esther thinks that the best option is to leave the decision to Pedro when he grows up. Isabel is the new director of Urgencia instead of Vilches, who has been denounced and suspended because of supposed irregularities. Finally, Aimé present his candidature.
