Cruz is about to operate on a child and prepares her for the worst although the operation is not so complicated; Vilches and Aimé think that this attitude is not correct. not realizing that Cruz just lost a son who had the same illness as this girl. After the deaths of two candidates for Hospital Director, the place goes to Dávila, who has totally recovered from his cancer. Esther wants to be the boss of nurses after replacing Elisa while Dávila was ill. Javier tries to solve his jealousy problem that is hindering his relationship with Laura.

Cruz receives Vilches' condolences for her son's death while she and her husband are considering divorce, preferring to postpone rather than make the situation worse for Candela. Esther's petition is denied but she hasn't changed her mind and thinks that she is a good boss, able to do that work as well as Elisa. Laura, who is investigating the listeria outbreak in the hospital, and Aimé kiss. Her relationship with Javier is not going well at the moment; he wants her to go to a dinner organized yearly by his father for the anniversary of their private clinic, but she ...

Laura continues to investigate the origin of the listeria outbreak and gets to the solution after some very difficult work. Her personal life has also become very complicated and she talks with Aimé about their kiss. Cruz is also struggling with personal issues; she accepts her husband's divorce proposal after their younger son Fito's death, then leaves an operating room crying because everything reminds her of Fito. Elisa is one of the candidates for the Head Nurse position in the hospital and everybody, especially Esther, thinks that she will be chosen because of her relationship with Dávila. Cruz has decided not to operate anymore, but Vilches convinces her to change her mind. He and Héctor attend to a woman who has terminal cancer and doesn't want to continue living. Javier is happy operating with Aimé but doesn't suspect the attraction that exists between the doctor and Laura.

Cruz has decided to leave the hospital and Vilches thinks that he will be her replacement as Head of Surgery; he is really irritated when he finds out that Cruz didn't put his name forward as one of the candidates. Javier wants to go dinner with Aimé and Laura, but she doesn't feel comfortable with the situation. Esther wants to be the Head Nurse, but considers Elisa an obstacle.

It's Esther's last day after her differences with Elisa who finally, with Dávila's help, convinces her to stay at the hospital of co-boss of nurses. Laura and Aimé continue feeling attracted to each other, while Javier doesn't suspect about their relationship. Attending a very ill young boy reminds Cruz of her late son Fito. Héctor has been in Spain for a year and feels miserable about still being alone when his daughter's mother has a new partner.

Laura and Aimé feel attracted to each other, while Javier tries to spend more time with his girlfriend. Héctor has problems with a xenophobic patient. Cruz and Samuel have decided to end their marriage and he leaves their home. Eva and Fran have different diagnoses for a patient they attend on the street. Paloma continues fighting in order to get money the money for David's artificial heart, and her attitude provokes different opinions in the hospital's staff.

Dávila's niece Miriam arrives as a new nurse at the hospital. Although she prefers that nobody knows that she is a director's relative, everybody knows. Elisa knocks down a man and feels very guilty, but later it's proven that he threw himself in front of her car. Laura spent the weekend with Javier and now Dr. Aimé is distant with her although he was the one who allowed Javiet to have two free days to spend with his girlfriend. Candela wants Cruz to find a new boyfriend after the divorce, and she encourages her to dress up more for work because there are many attractive doctors at the hospital; meanwhile, they must decide what to do with Fito's room. Vilches has a meeting in the bank with the director when a woman who was also in the office goes into labor, while Héctor is alone at hospital and must make some decisions on his own; he also discovers that Miriam is working after taking drugs. Henar, the alcoholic girl, suffers a car accident while she was drunk; Cristina notices that she has an important problem. Javier distresses a patient of his father's, which causes problems when other patients notice it. Cruz confesses to Vilches that she felt jealous when her ex-husband Samuel told her he had a date.

A man walks into the hospital nursery with a bomb on his chest and demands to speak with Dávila. It will blow up in 60 minutes if they don't perform a surgery on his son.

Javier treats Laura very coldly and she makes mistakes with several patients, which doesn't improve their relationship. Finally, Javier decides to end their relationship and move out of their house. Laura tries to change his mind and make him give her another chance, but he has made a definite decision. Héctor notices that Miriam has consumed cocaine. She has problems with Elisa because she disobeys the boss nurse's orders and talks back to her disrespectfully. Cristina dies after the explosion in the Laboratory. Her family donates her organs, and her liver could go to alcoholic patient Henar who needs a transplant. Henar helps the nurses taking care of a patient's children in the chaos of Urgencias because of the explosion and a possible SARS outbreak. Javier has decided to move out of Laura's house and she tells Eva that she cheated on him with Aimé but has realized that she really loves Javier and wants to be with him.
