Laura and Javier are not together anymore and he tells her that he knows about her infidelity with Aimé. Now she doesn't know whether to keep seeing Aimé or not. Javier has a free day to go see a rally in which a friend is participating, and there he sees again his friend's sister Marta, who looks completely different; he didn't even recognize her. Fran and Eva are also at the rally and must attend an important accident. Elisa's son seems to be thinking about his possible return to Spain, but she's a bit disappointed because the boy has only asked about her father's house, so the nurse thinks that he doesn't want to live with her. Vilches' sons lift money from his wallet to buy him a birthday gift; he discovers them and explains that what they did isn't right. Cruz and Vilches must give a conference in the Faculty of Medicine. Vilches is not able to arrive on time, and Cruz must face all the pupils alone. It's Cruz's birthday and her daughter goes to the hospital to felicitate her, then has the Physics class with Héctor and asks him to take her to the bank to pay for her English classes. The media finds out that the singer is in Central and many fans wait in the hallway waiting for news. Maca has a very cordial relationship with the policewoman who investigates the injuries of a kid who is in the hospital and Esther is jealous. Javier is on his honeymoon with Belén in the Caribbean and sends a postcard that is seen by Aimé and Laura. Aimé is waiting for Cruz at the airport for their trip to Lisboa, but just when she is leaving the hospital, a patient arrives that keeps her from getting to the airport on time.

Mari Ángeles tells Aimé that Laura hits their daughter Nuria. He doesn't think that is true, but asks Laura about it and she takes much offense. Vilches is in a worse mood than usual and at the end of the day he tells Cruz that she must operate on an appendicitis patient: Vilches. Dávila discovers that Vilches has a brain tumor. Although the situation is serious, the doctor doesn't want anybody to know about it, especially Cruz. Héctor is angry with Vilches because of his attitude towards him and also because he asked Vilches for help in order to continue working at the hospital but he did nothing. Aimé and Mabel have very different perspectives on Lydia's case, as she is dying. Gabriela is depressed because of her illness, but her relationship with Héctor is growing stronger.
