Lauren is in the hospital. Paul manages for her to register under a fake name, so Scott doesn't learn she's about to deliver. Jack tells Nikki that Paul and Brad argued over Cassandra and Victor had to break the fight. Big argument between Gina and Rex. The police arrives and Clint is arrested.

At the hospital, Paul runs into Scott who asks him what he is doing here. Paul says he visited a friend. Nina tells Cricket that David wants to take her away on honeymoon. Cricket says Nina'd better not to leave with David. Paul and Cassandra are kissing when there's a ring at the door. It's Brad who came to talk about the divorce.

Mary arrives at the hospital. Paul tells her he called Cassandra and asked her to meet him. She was happy. He saw her getting out of a cab and being hit by a car. Paul adds he was about to propose to Cassandra. Brad, John and Victor have a meeting. Later, Ashley tells John and Victor that Cassandra is in critical condition. Victor goes to the hospital. After Victor's departure, Lynne appears at the hospital to support Paul. She also tells him that Lauren is about to deliver. Paul enters Lauren's room. She asks him to stay. Christine calls Nina. She says she and Danny are in a plane flying back to Genoacity. She wants Nina to get out of her apartment immediately and meet them later. Nina agrees, but instead, she's waiting for David with a gun in her hands. Victor tells Jill and Jack that Cassandra died. Ashley tells Brad the same news.

At the doctor's request, Paul left Lauren's hospital room. Lynne's there. She brought something to eat for him. Soon, a nurse appears and tells Paul he can go back to Mrs Fenmore's room. Nick calls his father to wish him an happy birthday. at sheila's request, Molly tells Scott there's a big storm in Michigan so Sheila was stuck there and had her baby. She's asleep now but will call him as soon as she wakes up. Later, sheila tells Scott they have a son. Lauren is headed to the delivery room. Nina tells David all she's learned about him. Paul briefly talks to Lynne; he gave Lauren and her baby a moment alone. Lynne gave Paul the newspaper announcing Cassandra's death. Danny and Cricket are questioned by the police; They say they don't know where Nina and her son are. Jill's upset when she finds out Nina left Phillip at Chancellor Estate instead of her place. After Nina left with her son, Jill and Katherine agree that something is wrong with Nina. Lauren introduces her baby to Paul. Later, Sheila switches Lauren's son with another baby.

Nina is booked for attempted murder. Paul and Brad argue. Later, back at his office, Paul is told that he is Cassandra's heir. Cricket and Danny are taking care of Philip. After learning that Nina got arrested, Katherine and Jill come and want to take the baby. They finally decide that Jill and Philip will move in with Katherine at the Chancellor estate.

Drucilla would like Olivia and Neil to Date, so she would keep Nathan for herself. Paul tells Mary he is Cassandra's heir. He wants to buy a house for his parents. Nikki is suffering so much she decides to have surgery.

Jill offers Paul to run Ray-Tech with him. Victoria is upset by her parents' divorce and new spouses. Nikki tells Jack she agrees to have surgery.

Nina is denied bail. Cricket and John Silva visit David in the hospital. They're told David is in critical condition, but wants to live. Soon after they left his bedroom, David opens his eyes. Victoria tells her roommate she's leaving tomorrow. Victor tells Nikki and Ashley that Victoria is coming back. Brad learns that Paul is Cassandra"s heir. Paul and Mary talk about the house he wants to buy for his parents.

Mamie tells Drucilla that Nathan and Olivia are in love and are getting married soon. Paul enters Cassandra's empty house. He remembers the great time he had with the woman he loved. Brad arrives. He tells Paul that Cassandra drugged him before the wedding that he barely remembers.

Nikki tells Victoria that headmaster Trudeau called and said he sent a letter that Victor and she never got. Victoria admits she took the letter. She wasn't performing anymore at boarding school and doesn't want to go back there; she wants to study near her family. John Silva is working on Nina's defense. Mary tells Paul that she and Carl want to stay in their house full of love and memories.

Victoria questions her mother about the men Ashley has been involved with. Nikki says that Ashley was married to a doctor who was killed in an accident. She also briefly dated Brad Carlton. Cricket and Danny are taking care of Philip while Nina has a meeting with her lawyer, John Silva. She wants to divorce David and she wants her former last name back.David manages to escape from the hospital and make everyone think he is dead. Paul finds out that a man named Jim Adams rented the same disguise as Danny. Florence is devastated by Nina's death. Victoria is happy that her mother is back home. Diane threatens David with a gun.

Diane tells David she changed the bullets in his gun. He can't have shot Danny, Cricket and Nina dead. Paul arrives at Nina's. John Silva tells him that Florence is married. Paul questions Florence who finally admits that her husband is Jim Adams. Paul gets his phone number, so the police can locate Jim/David who tries to escape but gets killed. Nina tells Florence she's fine and gives her a hug. Victor calls Jack. He wants to make sure that Ryan left the ranch. Jack goes downstairs and finds Victoria and Ryan on the couch. Neil and Drucilla argue over her career's choices. Sheila's mad at Lauren for preventing her and Scott to leave Genoa City. She confronts Scott and then Lauren about it. Christine, Danny and Nina arrive in time at the airport to prevent Florence from leaving town. Lauren tells Paul that the baby is very ill. Nathan wants to talk about starting a family but Olivia isn't ready for that.

Dina tells John that health conditions kept her away from her family. Dylan's fever's going up. Paul, Lauren and Scott are at his bedside.

Drucilla and Neil run into Danny and Cricket in a restaurant. Later, Drucilla introduces Danny and Cricket to Madame Chauvin. While Drucilla is changing, Madame Chauvin tells them that Drucilla's talent is wasted. Paul and Lauren are at Dylan's bedside. The doctors do everything the can to save the baby but they fail; Lauren's son dies. Sheila gives Scott the test results proving he isn't Dylan's father.

John asks Dina not to leave. She agrees to stay longer. Jill confides in Rex about Dina and John's relationship. Later, she goes to Paul's office. Lynne tells her Paul isn't there but Nathan is. Jill asks Nathan to find everything he can about Dina Mergeron. Paul and Lauren arrive at Paul's apartment. She confides in him about the way she feels after the loss of her baby. Paul comforts her. Jack confronts Nikki for being drunk.

John and Dina are planing a party for Brad and Traci's return. Jill is disappointed that Nathan is going to Switzeland alone. She wanted Paul to go with him but Paul explains that a friend of his lost her son and he wants to be there for her. Jack confides in John about what happened between him and Nikki last night. Ashley visits Nikki who is surprised; she expected her the day before. Ashley explains she went yesterday but found Nikki asleep.

Nina invites Cricket to go shopping with her. Cricket can't; she has to study. She encourages Nina to date John Silva, but Nina isn't ready for a new man in her life. Paul invites Lauren to dinner but she suggest the two of them have dinner at her place. Paul agrees. Traci confronts Ashley after seeing her with Brad.

Lauren managed to have dinner with Paul at her place. She gives him too many martinis to drink. Sheila tells Scott that her mother's on her way to Michigan. Nina tells Cricket that she accepted to have dinner with John Silva. Cricket and Danny have an argument.

Paul wakes up and asks Lauren what he's doing in her bed. He realizes that Lauren planned the whole thing. She explains she wants another baby. He replies another baby will never replace the one she lost. Later, Scott tells Lauren that Molly is going back to Michigan. Lauren wants to see her before she leaves but she arrives too late at the hospital. She finds the baby picture that Molly left behind her.

It's Christmas Eve in Genoa City. Big celebration at Danny and Cricket's with Nina, Florence, Gina and John Silva. Victor, Douglas, Ashley, Victoria and Nicholas start celebrating at Victor's and then go the ranch to wish Nikki and Jack a merry Christmas. Lauren gets a visit from Scott and then, Paul arrives. He asks her to go with him to the church for midnight mass but Lauren doesn't want to go out.
