Jill is having dinner with Michael Crawford. Katherine invites Nina for tea. Brittany wants to go out with Paul. They go to a night club. When Paul comes back to his apartment, Cassandra is there waiting for him. He says she shouldn't be so insecure.

Paul tells Lauren he'll break up with Cassandra. Their love hurt too many people already. Katherine offer Philip and Nina to live in the Chancellor Estate after their wedding. George says goodbye to Cassandra. He knows he'll never see her again.

Carl questions Paul about the woman he was involved with. Paul says he found out she was married. George calls Victor and then Paul to ask them to come to his place tonight.

Carl investigates George's murder. Victor tells Salena that George got a call from Paul and was angry with him. Later, when he left George's house, Victor ran into Paul who was as friendly as usual. Cassandra asks Paul about his last meeting with George. Nina arrives late at her wedding. all the guests have gone except Katherine, Rex, Cricket, Danny, Esther and little Philip. Chase makes a brief appearance.

Paul and Mary talk about Paul's relationship with Cassandra and George's death. Later Carl questions his son about the night of George's death. Rex and Katherine tell Jill that Philip married Nina. Victor and Leanna are heading to the bedroom when Nikki arrives with Victoria. The little girl is happy to spend the night at her father's place.

Paul and Brittany comfort Cassandra after George's funeral. Later, Carl questions Brittany while Cassandra is with Paul in his office. James Grainger and John Abbott talk about Jessica. Lauren visits Traci. Cricket and Jessica have breakfast together.

Paul confronts Victor for reporting to the police something that never happened. Later, Lauren hints that Cassandra could have killed George. Paul is upset and replies that Cassandra was in Chicago the night George died. Christine is very happy to see her father again. Brad tells Scott he'll fight for Traci.

Brittany tells Paul and Cassandra that George changed his will. Nina and Philip are on honeymoon in Hawaii. Jill is mad at Chase because he didn't prevent Nina to marry Philip. Brad asks for Lauren's help to get Traci visit him in the hospital.

Paul, Cassandra and Brittany don't understand why George changed his will. With Scott and Lauren as his accomplices, Brad makes Traci come to the hospital to visit him.

Nikki and Ashley try to warn Victor about the kind of woman Leana is. Carl is told to remove himself from George's murder's case. Carl says he won't. Cassandra convinces Paul they can't tell anyone they've had an affair.

Lauren apologizes to Cassandra. She wants her and Cassandra to team up to help Paul. Cassandra says she has an appointment and has to leave. She planned to go back to Chicago, but when she realizes that Lauren is following her, she decides to go to George's graveside instead. Cricket is happy to have a family. Paul tells Mary that George's niece Brittany offered to represent him if he needs a lawyer.

Unlike Lynne, Mary and Carl, Cassandra doesn't show up at Paul's hearing. Philip confesses to Nina that he's been having a couple of drinks but he assures her he's fine. Katherine, Gina, Danny, Scott and Cricket are arranging a party for Philip and Nina.

Lauren tells Paul that Cassandra bailed him out.

Carl tells Paul he has no doubt about his innocence. Later, Lynne figures out when George had full access to Paul's office.

Nina and Katherine have a talk about Philip. Later, Katherine confronts the young man. Nikki tells Victor she thinks that Paul is innocent but Victor isn't sure about that. Paul tries to get in touch with his father. When Carl finally shows up, Paul and Lynne tell him what they found out about the letters incriminating Paul.

Paul tells Cassandra he had planned to break up with her the night George was killed. Katherine asks Cricket for help. She knows Philip is drinking again and Nina doesn't understand how serious it is.

Katherine learns that Philip was drunk when he had an accident. Paul confides in Brittany; he's disappointed in Cassandra's lack of faith in him. Carl does everything he can to prove his son's innocence. Cricket, Nina, Rex and Jill arrive in the hospital. They learn that Philip is seriously injured.

Carl and Lauren think that Cassandra could have killed her husband. Rex, Katherine, Cricket, Jill and Nina are at Philip's bedside. Cassandra tells Paul she believes in his innocence. Philip dies in the hospital.

Cassandra tells Brittany that maybe, she doesn't find a defense for Paul because there's none, but Brittany is adamant: Paul didn't kill George. Paul visits his mom. He wonders where his dad is. Carl and Lauren are in Chicago to compare the signature at the hotel with Cassandra's one. That's the same, so Cassandra was in Chicago the night her husband was killed. Later, Paul tells his dad he knew about that; he called Cassandra there in the evening and the next morning.

Paul thanks Lynne for everything she has done for him. Mary confronts Cassandra. Carl thinks that Cassandra is George's murderer. He asks for information about the mileage of the car she rent the night of George's death. When the report comes, it shows that Cassandra might have driven from Chicago to Genoa that night.

Victor, Brad and Mitchell Sherman are having a meeting. Carl and Paul argue about Cassandra. Cricket and Chase are having dinner together in a restaurant.

She's ready to help but Paul tells her to be very careful when she's alone with Cassandra. Esther is wondering if she made a mistake when she left the Chancellor Estate to work for Nina.

Paul, Brittany and Carl are listening to Cassandra's phone calls. Thanks to one of them, they learn that Cassandra's mysterious lover will call today. Cricket wants to go to university to become a lawyer. John Silva wants Derreck to be released on bail. He advises his client to stay away from miss Blair.

Lynne and Brittany are giving Carl a hard time. Paul asks Lauren to pay his mother a visit. Mary is giving a press conference; she says her son is innocent.

Lauren tells Paul that Mary held a press conference to say her son isn't guilty. Paul can't stand what he's doing to his mother; he leaves Victor's apartment in a hurry. Jessica tells Jim that she doesn't want to be on life support. When she'll be too weak, he'll have to let her go.

Paul appears in front of Mary and kindly tells her he's alive.

Esther and Katherine are kidnapped. Paul is furious when Carl tells him what they found out isn't enough to have Cassandra extradited.

Paul calls his mother. He wanted to hear her voice. Lauren, who's at Mary's talks to him too, but she can't tell him she's marrying Scott today. Guests arrive at Scott and Lauren's wedding: Brad and Leanna, Nikki and Jim, John Abbott, Jack and Victor. Katherine and Esther wake up and realize they had been kidnapped.
