Philip tells Cricket that Nina has been living in the Chancellor Estate for months. Now, she's in the hospital. She's about to give birth to her baby. Nathan got an invitation to an art gallery. He goes there with Paul and Amy. Paul is interested in a painting and a mysterious beautiful young lady visiting the museum.

Amy gets a call. Her father had a stroke. She tells Nathan and Paul that she wants to be there for her dad. Nathan gives her a lift to the airport. Doctor Laski tells Philip that Nina wants to see him, but the young man says he wants nothing to do with her.

Paul decides to hire Lynne. He calls her. She's ready to start working for him the next morning. Jack tells John he wants to leave Jabot. John is upset. He has always dreamed of a great family working altogether. Jack says he has other dreams.

Paul tells Lauren how he met and fell in love with Cassandra. He adds he didn't know she was a married woman, whose husband happened to be a friend of his. When he found out about it, he broke up with her. Brad tells Traci that Lauren isn't after him but her ex-husband Paul. George confides in Paul about his relationship with Cassandra.

Little Philip is still fighting for his life. According to Dr. Scott Grainger, news aren't good. Rex tries to convince Philip to tell Nina about it. George tells Paul he's impotent. Later, Paul calls Cassandra and asks her to come to his office.

Since Philip doesn't want to tell Nina that their baby might be dying, Rex is the one who breaks the news to her. Paul tells Cassandra he knows that George is impotent. Cassandra tells him about her strong relationship with her husband. Jill is mad at Chase. She reminds him he was supposed to keep Nina away from Genoa City for three weeks and he failed.

Cassandra tells Paul that their relationship has nothing to do with George's condition. She fell in love with him.

He also found out she did write the book that hurt so many people, especially Ashley. Mary begs Cassandra to make it up with Paul. Paul gets a call from Cassandra who would like to see him. He agrees to meet her at his office.

Cassandra tells Paul about the talk she had with Mary. Paul says his mother doesn't know the all story. Cassandra replies she'll ask George for a divorce. Steven Lassiter is shot in his office.

Chase is looking for Nina. He finds her in Danny's apartment after following Cricket. Ashley is at the Colonnades when she learns that her husband has been shot in his office. Cassandra wants to be with Paul. She asks him if his feelings for her are still the same.

Paul and Cassandra are on the dance floor. They're happy to be together again and avoid thinking of George. Carol tells Jack that Steven Lassiter was shot. He leaves immediately to go to the hospital and support Ashley. Danny and Cricket convince Nina not to leave town. George pays Mary a visit. He plans to give Paul something special for Chrismas and asks Mary what her son would like to have. Before leaving, he tells Mary that his wife is Cassandra Hall.

Jack calls his father. He says he's sorry he has to say that on the phone but Steven has been shot. He thinks the Abbotts should be in the hospital to support Ashley. Mary pays Paul a visit.
