They realize that no one knows that they went up to the mountains. To make matters worse, James cannot walk and the temperatures are freezing in the defective cabin. Stephanie checks up on Eric and is relieved to find out that his house was not damaged by the earthquake, either. They wonder if their cabin in the San Bernardino Mountains was so lucky. At Big Bear, Taylor tries to alert help, but must instead realize that the bridge close-by collapsed. There is no way for them to reach someone in the middle of the night and a snowstorm. The police alert paramedics who take a seriously injured James and Taylor to the local hospital where doctors can check up on them.
