Tori gets Justin out of the warehouse in time to see Turner stealing his car. She calls an ambulance and Nate stabilises him pending the arrival of a surgeon. McCarthy tells Kat that Turner was being guarded by two police officers on her pay roll, who have been arrested nearby. Kat learns of the bushfire and calls Phoebe. The festival is evacuated safely but Marilyn, Olivia and Mason are all missing and the others stay around to look for them. Brody, who went to get supplies, is stopped at a road block by Alf and Kat. The group in the shack continue to seek shelter until the fire has passed on, then make it to the roadblock. Brody and Hunter go back to look for Mason and Olivia but Hunter is hit by a falling branch and taken to hospital. Alf and John worry about Marilyn's whereabouts. VJ manages to tell Leah that Billie's in labour and gets her to call Ash. Nate wants to do a caesarean but Billie is fully dilated and insists on a natural birth. Riley bumps into Turner but accepts her story that she's a new doctor. Nate recognises Riley from the conference and is shocked to learn that he knows Tori. Turner goes to Justin's room and gives him a shot of adrenaline but he is quickly revived. Brody chases Turner, who is cornered by Kat and Corelli. While waiting to be a Supermax prison under armed guard, Turner tells Tori and Brody that Koby was more involved with the syndicate than they thought and her father died in jail after being blamed for his crimes. Alf accompanies Marilyn to the hospital before calling John; she is badly burned. Justin sends Brody to tell Phoebe what has happened to him. She awkwardly performs her song before he tells her he loves her and they kiss. Heath and Bianca exchange notes with Irene while Darcy is delighted to see them again. When she walks in on a heated conversation, she thinks they're breaking up but they tell her Bianca's pregnant. John tries to downplay the seriousness of Marilyn's burns but she soon realises he's lying. Nate tells him to go home.

Alf checks on Marilyn before she is taken into theatre for a skin graft. Although Nate assures her it went well, she is in pain when she comes round. Billie is rushed to hospital; VJ accompanies her in the ambulance while Zac, Leah and Ash follow on and Alf and Matt look after Luc. Tori tries to apologise to Nate for accusing him but he is frustrated that she is still torn over Riley. X-rays show a mass blocking Billie's airway and Riley carries out a bronchoscopy with Mason observing. Zac runs into Sam, who says she is staying in town because another writer is joining her. Nate has Luc taken to Billie before passing on the news to Leah, VJ and Ash, who gradually accept that nothing can be done. Leah calls Alf and Zac who join them and VJ announces he wants to marry Billie straightaway, with everyone rushing round to help it happen. Kat and Phoebe join them as they exchange vows. Afterwards, Zac tries to comfort Leah but she just rants at him. Billie sends Ash home, then asks VJ to take her and Luc down the beach. Ash returns the next morning to find them gone. The couple watch the sunrise together before Billie dies.

Kat meets VJ on the beach to make arrangements. John sees the ambulance and tells Alf and Marilyn, but refuses to let Marilyn go and see them. VJ takes Luc back to the hospital to tell Leah, Zac and Ash; Ash is furious with him for taking her out and pushes Kat away when she tries to stay with him. Justin tries to phone Nina before finding Phoebe by Billie's memorial. He finds the house in a mess and empty of food so calls Brody round to cook and pays Raffy and Ellie to tidy it up. After receiving a text from Nina telling him to stop calling, he confides in first Brody and then Phoebe that he hasn't told Nina why he didn't show up. Marilyn wants to open the Diner to help Leah and Irene but John and Olivia talk her out of it. She is unable to leave the house to visit so instead writes a letter for VJ. Kat arrives at the house as John is being taken away in the ambulance. Nate tells first John and Marilyn, then Alf and Kat that he has a brain tumour and confirms Kat's theory that it could cause behavioural changes. Kat tells Alf about the evidence against John. Justin meets with Nina, who tells him she had to tell Brian and Ava about his contact only for Ava to be upset when he didn't show up. VJ reacts angrily to the news about John and tells Ash when he comes home. Ash runs off to the hospital while Alf calls Kat. Ash bursts in on Nate and Riley discussing the tumour with John and Marilyn; Kat ushers him out but she and Nate have to explain the situation and John begins to realise he did it. Phoebe shuts herself in her bedroom to avoid talking to Justin, then goes to vent to Matt and Evelyn. Matt eventually calls Justin to come and get her, after which they decide to forget it but Phoebe remains distant. Hunter and Olivia talk over their plans to move in together; neither Irene nor Leah is happy but Alf suggests to Leah that they need a dose of reality and Irene accepts it's their choice. Justin fills Brody in on his chat with Phoebe, who confides in Kat. Brody queries Phoebe, who says she's more sure about Justin than anyone else, a sentiment Justin echoes. Brody is frustrated to find Justin and Mason messing about the day critic Terry Diamond is meant to be visiting. Leah and VJ deliver Luc to Irene and Leah later confides in her about Zac's cheating. Tori attempts to interest Nate in a yoga session on the beach. Justin confronts Brody about the cocaine before telling Tori, who later confides in Nate. Brody fires Lena when a customer, Annabel Kilgour, comes to Salt looking to score from her but also arranges to meet her to buy more drugs. Hunter and Olivia are accepted for a private rental they applied for but when they get there they find the garden full of rubbish and the house messy and dirty. Ash quizzes Patrick about his odd reaction but eventually drops it. Phoebe ropes Tori into helping plan her engagement party but Nate gets uncomfortable and leaves when they joke about his and Tori's wedding. He bluntly tells Tori he's not going to get married again but later apologises. Hunter and Olivia attempt to put on a brave face cleaning the house but eventually admit that they both hate it; however, they agree to give it a go. Kat finds Patrick apparently sleepwalking and only just manages to snap him out of it when he advances on her.

Kat tries to counsel Patrick over what she believes is night terrors but Ash dismisses the seriousness. Kat gets hold of Patrick's service record and learns he was involved in a classified operation. Patrick moves out to the caravan park. Roo returns from Hawaii and Irene asks her to cover at the Diner since Luc is restless. Ash turns up for scheduled time with Luc but Irene sends him away. Zac attempts unsuccessfully to contact Leah. Ash discusses his ultimatum with Kat and Irene does with Roo. When Ash comes round to discuss it, VJ turns up and is angered himself. Mason and Raffy help Justin prepare for the engagement party. However, when Brody comes home, he snaps at them both and tells them to stay out of his room. Justin, Brody and Raffy set up for the engagement party, with Brody now in a more relaxed mood. During the party, he keeps sneaking off but denies being on anything. Phoebe sings during the party and Donna warns Justin not to let her waste her talent. Morag has a go at John for taking the plea and he eventually tells her and Marilyn he'll fight it. Roo is keeping James hidden away in the flat and Morag has some stark words for him about it. Tori tries to avoid Nate at the party while revealing the truth to Justin; she eventually tells him she's been told to fire him.

Tori confides in Justin about Nate's reaction, while Nate is angry that she didn't make the decision herself. Tori tells Bernice they should fire Anna instead, since she costs a lot and is only part-time, but when one of the nurses tells Anna about Nate and Tori's relationship she makes a complaint. Nate tells Bernice he's accepting the redundancy. Phoebe admits to Justin and Kat that part of her is tempted by Donna's offer. She tells Justin she's worried about the strain on their relationship but he assures her they'll be fine and Donna suggests she open for her. ...
