Des is back for a ninth series with guests including Twiggy, Jeannine Burnier, Don Ameche and Jennifer Rush. Also appearing is a guest first seen in Des's "Now" series, a singing traffic warden by the name of George Lancaster.

Cilla Black, Jackie Collins, Dom DeLuise and Shakatak are the guests in this edition.

Elaine Paige is one of the guests, but Freddie Starr can't resist interrupting to add some mayhem. Also appearing are Ursula Andress, Mai Tai and the return of singing traffic warden George Lancaster.

Poor old Des's ratings suffer a tumble as ITV's London region takes off his show to air a 24 hour telethon. The rest of the country gets to see Des greet guests including Cleo Laine, Matt Bianco, John Dankworth and Norman Collier.

Des's show returns to the full ITV network, with guest Glynis Barber admitting that she's in a relationship with her co-star Michael Brandon. Also appearing are Martha Reeves, June Allyson, Jimmy Tarbuck and Bernie Clifton.

With guests including Pia Zadora, Jeff Stevenson and "Adrian Mole" star Gian Sammarco.

Des gets to meet the new Miss World, Hólmfríður "Hófí" Karlsdóttir, plus Jack Jones and duo Mack and Jamie.

Guests include Sacha Distel, Wayland Flowers, Stan Boardman, Saint and Greavsie, plus The Flying Pickets.

Des's guests include Pamela Stephenson, Clive James and Imagination.

In the run up to Christmas, Shakin' Stevens performs what would become the festive No.1, "Merry Christmas Everyone". Also appearing are Paul Nicholas, Dom DeLuise, Michael Barrymore, Sarah Payne and Mike Yarwood.

Des and Jim Davidson compete to see who can plug their new album and panto tour the most, while Jim also performs a song. Among the other guests is Eric Sykes, and, making a comeback after personal loss, singer Barbara Dickson.

Des hosts a Christmas Day special where Joan Collins reveals she had to drink for real in her Cinzano adverts, and would end up worse for wear. Des also chats and sings with Dudley Moore, plus there's fun with Alan King and Willie Tyler.
