The Gloucester elite get challenged by new fishermen. Captain Bob Cook and his crew on Fat Tuna vow to dethrone reigning champion Dave Carraro on FV-Tuna.Com. Tyler on Pinwheel faces off with Krakens Captain Sam Law, while Hot Tuna is the target of Wasabi co-captains Zack Plante and Charlie Boivin.

With Outsider crews getting together to put pressure on the original Gloucester veterans, the veterans look to their old tried and true methods, and experience, to stay ahead of the upstarts.

Spooked by the sudden success of the new captains, the Gloucester veterans put their differences aside and work together to make sure a veteran boat comes out on top this season. While these unlikely alliances may just be the spark everyone needs, a spark between Captain T.J. Ott of the Hot Tuna and Marissa McLaughlin of the Pinwheel catches the attention of the fleet.

Tensions run high with a new limited quota, and the competition gets personal for two rivals, as the pressure builds to catch tuna for a payday.

With several family legacies going back generations, fishing is personal for the Gloucester captains. And as the competition between the OGs and the tourists heats up, Gloucester captains rely on family ties. Two captains share a bond as one faces the loss of his father while another grieves. Meanwhile, three generations fish together on one boat in an epic battle for bluefin.

The Gloucester captains usually dominate the catch with their local knowledge, but find their favourite spots invaded by tourist boats. With more commercial boats on the water and a small quota getting filled up, the need to find prime fishing becomes more vital, especially with the new captains challenging them for top spot.

Dave Carraro lets the fleet know that the buyers are considering shutting down the buying. With the blue fin markets being over saturated, due to so many fish being brought in too quickly, every captain comes under more pressure because their next fish could be their last.

The blue fin market is set to close down in 48 hours. This raises the pressure, and tensions among the captains run high. Dave Marciano finally hooks one, names it "the reverse the curse fish", and a happy crew head for port. Since it is a quality fish they manage to get a good price.

Although the market is closed, Dave Marciano assists Molly Lutcavage from the Large Pelagics Research Centre, to catch and tag tuna for future stock management. The market opens and the fleet heads out to sea. Returning to port they find the market hasn't fully recovered, and poor payouts are received.

The Mates step up their efforts. Jarrett surprises TJ with the news that he is getting engaged. Fat Tuna tries some kite fishing, scoring a tuna for their efforts, and being a heavy, high quality fish they get a good price. FV Tuna.Com hooks up but looses it at the last minute, and on Falcon Joe Marciano gets his first Halibut.

Extremely rough weather is the order of the day, and the high seas are forcing the captains to make harsh decisions. The question is whether they should take risks to catch fish, or take the safe option and head back to port.

Good luck charms are brought in to assist the catch. Tyler McLaughlin, Captain of the Pinwheel, gives out lucky pineapples to the Gloucester boats. The outsiders have their own superstitions. Everyone hopes for good luck and big catches.

Time is running out and Hot Tunas lead position is in the newcomers cross hairs. Big catches by Wasabi and Fat Tuna keeps the pressure on the fleet. Pinwheel struggles to catch up to rival, Kraken, as the end of the season looms.

As the season draws to a close, the captains are going all out for what could be their last blue fin. This leads to raised tensions between the Pinwheel and the Kraken which has the potential to become an all out war for the crews..

Over the season, the fleet has had to deal with extreme weather, monster blue fin and uncertain profits. Now its nearing the end, and it is an all out battle with captains fighting to land their last fish, and maybe the top spot.
