Just as Sergeant Gilmore becomes unimpressed with his officers, PC's Taviner and Hollis decide to bunk off to Southend to see Reg's girlfriend. Elsewhere, PC Klein and Special Constable Knowles investigate a theft from an elderly lady.

Emotions run high at the funeral of Special Constable Knowles, whilst a major manhunt is launched to find his killer.

As CID withhold information from uniform, PC's Taviner and Klein do some unauthorized undercover work in search of Special Constable Knowles's killer.

Sun Hill search for a missing girl with Downs syndrome. However, matters are complicated when it transpires that she's pregnant.

PC Cathy Bradford arrives at Sun Hill and paired with PC Hollis to investigate vandalism at a church, but she has a run-in with PC Quinnan.

PC Bradford investigates a locker theft and steroids at a gym, whilst PC Quinnan's work at the Day Centre with Liz Terry drives them closer together.

Quinnan and Page are not speaking after Page's revelations regarding Liz. Adding to Quinnan's misery is the receipt of his divorce papers and Stamp's implication that whilst his ex wife's life has moved on, Quinnan's hasn't.

PCs Quinnan and Page tie the knot as an undercover couple, but when Page uses her charms on a human trafficker, Dave cannot disguise his jealousy.

The story continues of the police drama series. Page and Quinnan continue to pose as a married couple running a hotel, as part of a sting to catch an immigrant smuggler.

A surprise proposal from Quinnan leaves Page in a whirl and Stamp running for his life.

Set to leave Sun Hill, Quinnan waits for Page's answer to his marriage proposal. When Page is taken hostage after her cover is blown, she recognises her true feelings for Quinnan - but does his offer still stand.

Klein's social life looks up when Bradford goes undercover in a pole-dancing club. Meanwhile, Chandler meets up with a mystery woman in a seedy hotel.

The guns come out as Webb tries to foil a murder attempt, and Spears is at it again with the Chief Superintendent.

Tension crackles between Ackland and Carver - could it be sexual? Singh appears to have started a race war.

McAllister suspects that Spears is sleeping with the chief superintendent. The race war escalates when PC Stamp comes under petrol bomb attack.

Chandler is concerned about growing racial tension in Sun Hill and, after sending a junior officer to a community meeting in his place - while he entertains Spears at home - his fears are proven right. Taviner has serious car trouble.

As Sun Hill mourns Conway's death, Vik Singh faces the music. The search for the bomber begins, while Mickey Webb is in for a shock.

Taviner drops himself in it when a charitable gesture proves to be incredibly expensive. Racial violence erupts all over Sun Hill as Chandler questions the wisdom of allowing a racist march through the area.

With the racist march due to take place later that day, the tension rises once again as the Sun Hill force comes under attack from gangs of youths. Ackland is saved from a gang by Carver, and the pair soon become much closer. After telling Chandler it's over, Kate Spears reveals that she is going to tell everyone what they were doing when Conway died.

Sun Hill attempts to come to terms with its loss as the names of dead officers are read out and Chandler vows to catch the bombers responsible. Lennox and Glaze team up to search for prime suspect Simpson. But when they find him and question him, he denies any involvement in the bombing.

Taviner is faced with the possibility that Harker might live. Chandler appoints Boyden as Acting Inspector. A safe cracker who is the prime suspect appears to be off the hook after a crucial piece of evidence goes missing, but McAllister is determined to see him go down.

Murder Investigation Team officers arrive to sift through the ashes of Sun Hill station and question the survivors, with everyone under suspicion as the officers are convinced the fire was an inside job. A terrified Taviner faces the challenge of hiding the truth from them, while Webb sees a chance to dish the dirt on Chandler. Meanwhile, Carver and Ackland try to keep their relationship a secret.

The day of the memorial service arrives, and DC Sharpe is thrown in at the deep end on her first day when McAllister puts her to the test. A panic-struck Taviner is determined to find Harry Fullerton before the Murder Investigation Team, but Chandler hampers his progress. Chandler's hollow speech at the memorial is too much for DC Webb, who is at breaking point. Carver tries to patch things up with Ackland.

Harry Fullerton is arrested - confusing Taviner, who is perplexed as to his motives. Chandler lets McAllister know where they stand, but her response surprises him. Carver thinks his luck is in, but Ackland puts rank before romance. Glaze and Sharpe join forces to investigate an assault on a taxi driver which isn't as straightforward as it appears. Webb tries to find evidence against Chandler.

When stolen cheques turn up on the streets of Sun Hill, the police target a known fraudster. On visiting his home, his ex-wife claims her husband has left and that she is living with a new man. PC Rickman is caught out while off-duty when she takes an ecstasy tablet while clubbing, only to be called to a crisis. Meadows and Webb uncover Chandler's lies, while McAllister has Chandler where she wants him.

Guilty Taviner is desperate for his double bluff to work. Klein and Rickman respond to a domestic violence call.

Ackland's feelings for Carver get the better of her, and she makes a terrible mistake.

The police have a tough task on their hands in trying to establish the guilt of two bungling armed robbers when both start telling contradictory stories about what happened. Taviner finds the evidence he needs to pin the bomb attack on Simpson, but DS Devlin is still suspicious of him. When DI Cullen covers for Chandler, Meadows knows he is lying and that Chandler can't be protected forever.

An old style big time crook, Frankie Steele, pays a visit to Sun Hill and asks DCI Jack Meadows to scare his youngest son, Toby, away from the crime game...without letting on it was his own dad who's grassed him up. While it seems like a simple nick 'em and scare' em kind of job, Jack's been burnt by Frankie's kind before, and unless he gets some kind of favour in return it's not going ahead. More importantly, can he risk screwing up while trying to bring down Superintendent Chandler? PC Des Taviner is uncharacteristically eager to let PC Tony Stamp drive the area car...

PC Tony Stamp organizes a Sun Hill team to play a match against a group of young offenders. He's got his job cut out for him convincing Cass she's their secret star weapon and keeping Matt Boyden and Craig Gilmore from shedding blood on the pitch. While Matt's unrelenting homophobic comments cause the two sergeants to practically trade punches it's the young offenders that come under the spotlight during the game. After an old man is discovered dead in his council flat nasty rumours about his pedophile past mean Danny and Eva have their work cut out getting the truth ...

Craig starts the day filing a grievance procedure against Matt after last week's homophobic taunts but Sgt June Ackland warns him off. PC Young acts as bait to trap a flasher, but the suspect could be a vital witness to a shooting. DI Cullen and Supt Chandler fall out over an assault on DS McAllister.

DC Glaze investigates a violent assault. Insp Gold and DCI Meadows clash over the handling of a suspect. PCs Hollis and Taviner are attacked in the Area Car.

The relief attend a call to a protest outside a research laboratory involving a group of animal rights protestors. During the protest, Taviner gets a bit heavy-handed with a protestor who refuses to move back, and ends up dishing out a harsh beating. As the trouble continues, Young and Ashton are personally assigned to protect the head scientist. After discovering that he has received a number of death threats, the pair soon find themselves in the middle of a bomb scare. A spate of robberies are reported in the local area, and it is soon discovered that the culprit is impersonating Ackland in an attempt to get away with her crimes. Ashton attends a call to a domestic, and arrives to find himself intercepting a row between Gilmore and his boyfriend. As the chemistry between them increased, Young and Ashton out on a date. McAllister has no choice but to inform Meadows of her pregnancy when her bump starts to show. Rickman seduces a local journalist, Simon Kitson, but after one too many fears that she may have landed herself in hot water...

Glaze panics when his star witness, Tina Pope, disappears without trace, hours before she is due to appear in court, but fails to establish an obvious connection between Pope and murder victim Liz Chambers. Hunter receives a tip-off which suggest that drugs are being peddled through a local nightclub, so he decides to set up an undercover operation in the club with Klein at the helm. In light of Cullen's transfer to MIT, the job of acting inspector is offered up, and McAllister is certain that she will get the job, having been at Sun Hill much longer than her fellow counterparts. Klein's role undercover in the nightclub comes into jeopardy when he is forced to take cocaine to retain his cover, and little does he know the whole escapade has been caught on tape. Best and Stamp attend a call to a man who has been found dead in his flat, but upon arrival, discover that his wife has also gone missing. However, they soon begin to realize that their search for a grieving relative may be nothing more than a wild goose chase, and a case of double identity. Ashton attends a call to a case of criminal damage in an off-licence, and discovers that the perpetrator is none other than the Superintendent's brother, James Chandler. Thrown off-kilter by his brother's arrest, Chandler blows a vital transfer interview at Scotland Yard, whilst back at the station, Meadows convinces James to make a statement, accusing Chandler of raping Louise Marsden at Hendon. Chandler realizes he is rapidly running out of options, but he still has one card up his sleeve - his imminent marriage to McAllister. Meanwhile, Young continues to fight her...

Lennox attempts to use his influence and contacts to get Nixon appointed to the serial killer enquiry as a profiler, but Ross has other ideas and continues to ignore Nixon's intelligence. Klein interrupts a night out between Rickman and Simon Kitson, and tensions soon flare between the two highly-charges individuals. McAllister is shattered the morning following her wedding and Tom's rape. Meanwhile, Mickey Webb and Jack Meadows prepare to reveal the truth about Chandler raping Louise Marsden, when an 'old friend' says he'll testify. Back at Sun Hill, Chandler admits to Debbie that he slept with Louise back at Hendon. Little did he know, Peter Marsden was listening in from the next room. Ashton and Young investigate a robbery, and discover that Gilmore's car was used as the getaway vehicle. Realising that his boyfriend is responsible, they decide to cover up their discovery. Rickman shows new recruit Gemma Osbourne the ropes on her first shift at Sun Hill. Rickman is stalked by the sister of an old friend. Gilmore suspects that Ashton still has feelings for him when he discovers that he covered up the robbery to save his skin. When he attempts to make a move, Ashton rebuffs him and reveals he and Young are engaged.

Taviner and Hollis pursue a local teenage tearaway, Andy Bennett, who is causing trouble for the residents of a local estate, and running rings round the police at the same time. Taviner isn't having any of it and the youth soon realizes he has nowhere to turn with Taviner on his case. Meanwhile, Hollis bears the brunt of Taviner's temper and ponders whether his stress leave made any difference. Taviner takes a shine to Osbourne. Nixon is finding it hard to concentrate on her job as her mind is on the serial killer case. When MIT receive a letter from the supposed ...

Ashton finds his day is going from bad to worse when he investigates a burglary, and soon finds himself in an uncomfortable position when he is propositioned by a gay couple. Gilmore spills the beans to Young, unaware that Ashton has lied to him and hasn't even proposed yet. Webb and Meadows make up and try to make amends with McAllister, but she is determined not to forgive and forget in such a hurry.

Taviner discharges himself from hospital, and pens a lengthy confession about his role in the Sun Hill fire. He and Hollis then investigate an assault on a schoolboy, only to find the suicidal attacker threatening to throw himself off of a building. Hollis convinces him that he has suffered enough, and is on the verge of killing himself when Taviner steps in and saves him. The fourth victim of the serial killer is found on the banks of the Thames, but despite Baxter's confession and inside knowledge of the case, Nixon begins to have serious doubts about his guilt. ...

Drummond investigates a case of a rogue prostitute who is robbing her punters. When a young woman is reported missing by her frantic husband, Drummond suspects that they are being a little bit sceptical with the truth. When the woman turns out to be a young blonde, there is concern she may have fallen victim to the serial killer. The husband then arrives at the station and tells Cryer that his wife beat him up, but when the sympathetic Cryer visits him, she finds the situation is the other way around. Ashton and Young's engagement party gets underway, but after a ...

There's trouble brewing on the Bronte estate, where drug dealers and gangs are running riot and two rival "crews" are fighting for power. Ackland investigates when a Bronte resident reports that a young boy is being used as a drug courier by gang leader Reload, but when Kane and Bradford investigate further, they discover the boy is only trying to ease the pain of his ailing mother. Hunter hopes to get some information on the Bronte situation from his new girlfriend, Linda, but later finds that her 16-year-old daughter Chloe is more than willing to be pumped for ...

Hunter uses Klein to stop and search Reload and his pals on the Bronte Estate, and Reload is arrested when he threatens Klein with a machete, and a kilo of cocaine is found in the car. As Meadows and Gold argue over how to handle the estate, the situation escalates when a kidnap attempt is made on Reload's daughter at her school. The girl is only saved by the brave actions of another parent - who happens to be the new station commander, Adam Okaro. When he arrives at Sun Hill, Okaro demands to know why the situation on the Bronte has been allowed to get out of hand. ...

As Okaro takes charge, he backs up Gold's idea of the Bronte Estate being a no-go zone for his officers - a decision which causes a media uproar. Okaro organizes a meeting with borough officials to discuss long-term solutions, then demands Meadows compile useful intelligence on the main players on the Bronte. Klein uses a contact on the estate and discovers who is behind all the trouble - the jailed husband of Linda Kendrick and father of Chloe, both of whom have been seeing Hunter, and manipulating him into removing the warring Bronte crews. New recruit Ruby Buxton and Stamp investigate when a prostitute is found badly beaten, and it is almost certainly the work of Frank Magorian, newly released from prison. Hunter is running scared, as Magorian is after the blood of the copper he knows has slept with his wife and his daughter. When Hunter sees Klein talking to Chloe Kendrick, he tells Magorian that Nick is "PC Hunter", which results in a coked-up Klein receiving a brutal beating. Buxton and Stamp then pursue a dangerous driver, Gilmore's boyfriend Carl, who crashes Gilmore's car and end up badly injured....

Nixon finds herself on a single-minded mission to find the Sun Hill serial killer when a young woman called Vicki Casson goes missing.
