With only two days to go until Christmas, uniform are hoping for a silent night at Sun Hill. Due to extremely heavy snowfall, the relief are kept in house rather than sent out to patrol the streets. Unfortunately, Hollis failure to get the Christmas lights for the station tree means he must venture out in the weather to get them. And as he is the only PC out on the streets, he ends up dealing will all of the shouts coming through on CAD. Meanwhile, Boyden has to deal with a D&D that Stamp has arrested, who seems to think he is one of Santa's elves, and a young boy who...

On a night out with her friends, PC Rickman meets two men who offer her drugs which she refuses. However when one man is arrested he claims Rickman was the one offering the drugs around.

It's New Years Eve 1999 and in an attempt to keep order on the streets full with party-goers the entire CID team have been seconded back into uniform for the night.
