Suffering from a cash flow crisis, and a large private investigation firm installing a branch office nearby, the Simons take on a case of a friend whose boat was blown up.

A sailor who's accused of a crime he didn't commit, borrows money from Cecilia to send to his family. But when he goes on the run Rick and A.J. track him down along with a Naval officer tasked with bringing him back. But someone is also trying to kill the sailor.

It's Cecilia's 40th high school reunion. She asks the boys to dig up a time capsule she and her classmates placed things in and buried. She then asks them to locate one of her classmates a guy named Phil whom she dated before she dated the boys father. A.J. is uncomfortable about it. When they open it, they find a policeman's badge from Mexico and a gun which is used by Mexican police and that it was fired. The boys take it to Town. Later Phil shows up and says that 40 years ago he went to Mexico and got into it with a local cop and shot him with his gun and ran with ...

Jenkins, just out of prison, seeks revenge on Downtown and injures him in a murder attempt. Downton moves in with AJ and Rick for safety reasons but Jenkins continues his attempts to take the police chief out for good.

Against their better judgement Rick and AJ agree to accompany prospector Justin Carter on his search for a lost mine. The decision is influenced by AJ's attraction to his daughter. Naturally complications and danger ensues.

Rick and A.J.are hired to investigate if famous surfer Tony Lorenz is still alive after twenty years after his reported death from a wave when sightings on the beach were reported by the next generation of surfers.

A female rookie cop thinks her training officer might be crooked. So she hires Rick and A.J. to help her prove it. But somehow the investigation blows back on her and she's suspended.

A child is a witness to the murder of his father and feels his life is in danger if he is sent to an orphanage, so he chooses for hospitality and protection of the Simons.

A TV station holds a contest for a 100,000$ prize. When the prize is stolen, the brothers are hired to recover it. Unfortunately for Rick, this trumps his aspirations to participate in the contest.

Two flight attendants witness the murder of a CIA agent. Facing deportation, which would endanger their lives, the brothers marry them.

A very attractive (and seemingly desperate) woman, who is training for a marathon, thinks men are stalking her, and hires the detectives to be her body guards.

Rick is, as a nurse puts it, might be oldest person to get their tonsils out. While drugged he thinks he sees fellow patient Tony murdered. AJ, with the help of centerfold model Cindy, tracks down the twists and turns of the case.

Rick and AJ are hired for security work at a oceanic amusement facility. They encounter two unsavory characters from their past who the brothers direct their suspicions to after a fatality occurs.

Rick and AJ start looking into a 50 year old bank robbery when three of the original thieves want payback on the fourth person, who absconded with the loot. Their mother involves herself because one is her neighbor.

AJ and Rick are hired to guard a pair of ancient samurai swords, arousing the interest of journalists Annette and Pam. Two competing interests are intent on getting their hands on the weapons leading to the kidnappings of Rick and Annette.

Downtown hires AJ and Rick to protect Temple despite having adversial positions in a criminal matter. Steve Belinsky is arrested after a shooting and Temple endangers her life when she becomes his advocate as a psycho targets her.

AJ and Rick attend a PI convention with friend Ace Bradstree . A popular TV detective actor is kidnapped, his bodyguard Steve beaten but when Ace looks into it, a tragic turn occurs. The brothers vow justice for their fellow investigator.

An elderly Native American shaman engages Rick and A. J. to help find his nephew after the nephew goes missing following the nephew's discovery of Native American burial artifacts at a construction site.

A.J. and Rick must invade the Yugoslavia consulate to recover a Top Secret file from a man with diplomatic immunity before he sells it to the highest bidder.

Rick's war buddy Ray is killed when he is innocently caught in gang crossfire. His death triggers traumatic flashbacks in Rick leading him to seek therapy while AJ and Downtown investigate the drug trade causing the violence.

A.J,'s former girlfriend, Janet Fowler who works for the Attorney General, is found after someone tries to kill her. She has a designer drug in her possession and she has amnesia. A.J. and Rick try to find out what happened to her. A.J. also takes the opportunity to reconnect with her.

Hollis Marshall, a disabled activist, hires the Simons to help in a lawsuit against a Dr. Longstrand. After initial distrust she and AJ develop a bond but she feels betrayed my some missing evidence. AJ works hard to fix things.
