When a well-known food critic is found dead, it looks to be accidental but AJ suspects murder because he was drinking California wine. Rick and AJ go undercover as cook and waiter at a prestigious restaurant to learn the truth.

Rick and AJ accompany their mother to a museum gala in costume where they meet Lisa, who has found a stray mummy. As they dig into the case the brothers discover an artifacts ring and a fraud involving cremation.

Rick has a personal stake in the search for a show dog when his own mutt is collared by the dognappers.

Marcel's cousin Kevin is a veterinary student working at a large cattle ranch when he notices some sickly animals. After reporting it to his boss, his home is ransacked than he's arrested for murder. Rick and AJ must ride to the rescue.
