The second season opens and the staff (which no longer includes Dr Riskin or Greg) learns that a tycoon is sentenced to community service in the hospital. Meanwhile, Hank tries to win over Gina and there's a strange new nurse named Luke.

Now that she's a US citizen, Gina intends to track down the owner of Paco's building, who turns out to be Jack Trenton.

Mr. Watanabe, according to Jack the greatest financial mind come out of the Far East, is delirious after a conference and is admitted to hospital. In his delirious state he keeps talking about buying certain stocks and Jack can't keep away from him. He even gets Hank hooked who is in a financial crisis again. Everyone tries to avoid Sandy, because she's always angry. Julie thinks Sandy needs help. Sandy thinks it's total nonsense, but Annie agrees with Julie.

Jack makes an innocent mistake which results in the nurses have to go to a seminar on proper disposal on their free Saturday. Jack thinks this is hilarious. Luke gets back at him by inventing a fatal disease Jack supposedly caught in a hospital room. Luke tells him he needs to be isolated in a plastic bubble and all his clothes need to be disposed. Annie sells chocolate bars for a good cause. Due to Hank's pride he buys a lot, but can't afford it.

Julie had a wonderful night with parking lot attendant Carl, but can't get in contact with him the next morning. The rest of the nurses tell her that to him it was just a one night stand and she won't hear from him again. Julie wants to take steps against Carl, but misses out on a simple fact. Hank surprises Luke and Luke hits him by mistake. Hank goes down and the whole hospital knows about the incident very quickly.

Annie goes away with Fred for a week and leaves Julie in charge. No-one believes Julie can handle, but they're all in for a big surprise. Jack wants to get hold of an old railroad watch from a dying patient, but he won't sell. Jack draws up a testament for the man to help him and the man signs it. After his death Jack is very happy, until he sees the signature on the testament.

Sandy becomes a laughingstock when she performs CPR on the Westons' dog at a Halloween party.

Geraldo Rivera shows up as a patient at the hospital, and everyone is giddy with excitement-except Jack, who's sure the journalist has shown up to do an expose on him.

Jack "donates" $20,000 for the new maternity wing in hopes of getting Annie transferred. But he only ends up getting himself transferred - to the morgue.

Annie hooks up her husband, Fred, with Hank for a ballgame in hopes of getting him interested in getting out of the house. But her plan works all too well when Fred and Hank begin spending more time together than she hoped for.

Gina's sister, Yolanda, comes to the USA for a visit, and Hank agrees to take her on rounds with him, thinking she's homely.

Julie throws Luke a surprise birthday party, to his annoyance.

Gina spends the money she's been asked to hold for a baby pool. To cover up her crime, she finds herself performing various favors for her coworkers.

Hank attempts to change his life when Jack dares him to be rich. Meanwhile, the nurses try to figure out if Luke is calendar pinup boy "Dusty Bottoms."

The nurses are sexually harassed by a supply man, and Paco finds himself being accused of harassment when he gets tongue-tied while talking to a beautiful candy-striper.

Hank throws a Superbowl party for his coworkers, but complications arise when his cable gets cut and it ultimately results in Paco getting injured.

Sandy reluctantly agrees to go on a date with Jack. They spend the evening on a riverboat casino where Sandy sees how big of a shark Jack really is.

Julie makes up her mind that she's going to break up with Carl, but she changes her tune when he proposes marriage.

Hank's father arrives and reveals that he's gay.

Hank and Gina get together while Paco quits the hospital after winning the lottery...or so he thinks.

It slips that Gina had sex with Hank, and now Hank's being clingy and obsessive, particularly when Gina hits it off with an attractive immigrant she bumps into in the elevator.

After Annie sets up Sandy on a date, the two decide to spare each other's feelings and not reveal that the date went horribly. Meanwhile, Jack blames Paco for killing a patient, whom he himself thinks that he killed.

Jack and Paco's secret hiding place is discovered when they have to save a construction worker. Meanwhile, Luke reluctantly tends to a disgruntled nun and Hank tries to worm his way back into Gina's bed.

Jack gets electrocuted and dies. As the staff works to revive him, Jack tries to cheat the angel of death in order to live.
