Longbox of the Damned

Another October brings with it Moarte and his Longbox of the Damned. For this first installment, he looks at a DC Rebirth story where Batman and his allies fight an army of monsters.

Day 2 of Longbox of the Damned and Moarte has yet more wonders to show you. It's time to head back to the comic based off of Clive Barker's Hellraiser with volume 2.

Day 3 of Longbox of the Damned brings Hell upon us. Moarte looks at the story arc from The New Teen Titans known as The Terror of Trigon and the horrors that come with it.

Day 4 of Longbox of the Damned. Last volume did not end well for our characters. Let's see if Reiko and friends can strike back with Reiko the Zombie Shop volume 3.

Day 5 of Longbox of the Damned. Tales of revenge just have a way of resonating with people. Moarte revisits an old favorite, The Crow, with another character taking on the role in Flesh and Blood.

Day 6 of Longbox of the Damned. Alternate histories provide so much fun. Moarte looks at two issues of Exiles as the team needs to deal with a vampire Captain America and a worse world for it.

Day 7 of Longbox of the Damned. Some prefer to see beauty in destruction. Moarte heads back to the House of Mystery once more with the fourth volume, The Beauty of Decay.

Day 8 of Longbox of the Damned. It's the Sorcerer Supreme against the King of Vampires. Moarte looks at a comic where Doctor Strange ends up fighting Dracula.

Day 9 of Longbox of the Damned. Don't go losing your head, otherwise you won't get the chance to see Moarte recommend Supernatural Thrillers #6 as the Headless Horseman rides again.

Day 10 of Longbox of the Damned. The performances here certainly aren't wooden. Moarte once again returns to the world of Puppet Master comics for a few more issues of the ongoing story.

Day 11 of Longbox of the Damned. Everything has a beginning. Watch as Moarte digs into the story that ties together all things Alien with Prometheus: Fire and Stone.

Day 12 of Longbox of the Damned. Horror is meant for all ages, not just adults. Moarte sees that for himself as he looks into a few issues of a Steven Universe comic and some spookier than normal antics.

Day 13 of Longbox of the Damned. The man behind the mask is back. Moarte looks at six issues of a Friday the 13th comic where Jason continues his massacre on Friday the 13th. How topical.

Day 14 of Longbox of the Damned. Sometimes it's good for companies to take a break from superheroes. Moarte looks at an issue of an anthology story hosted by Destiny of the DC and Sandman universes.

Day 15 of Longbox of the Damned. To fight monsters, sometimes we must become monsters. Moarte looks at Weird War Tales #93 and the first appearance of the Creature Commandos.

Day 16 of Longbox of the Damned. John Carpenter had plenty of illustrated tales of horror for us last year. Let's see a few more as Moarte looks at Tales for a Halloweenight volume 2.

Day 17 of Longbox of the Damned. Don't worry, Tom Cruise is nowhere to be found. Moarte revisits the classic Mummy franchise with a trade collection of comics all about the character.

Day 18 of Longbox of the Damned. Is this comic bigger on the inside? Moarte takes a look with a Doctor Who comic where the Doctor and Clara encounter monsters during their travels.

Day 19 of Longbox of the Damned. Because poor literacy is kewl. Moarte takes a look at a story of darkness and demonic pledges with Scott Snyder's Wytches.

Day 20 of Longbox of the Damned is going to be hair-raising. Moarte looks at Charleton's attempt at a horror anthology comic with Baron Weirwulf's Haunted Library #27.

Day 21 of Longbox of the Damned. Not to be confused with the band or movie of the same name. Witness the actions of a secret paranormal investigation team with The Witchfinder General.

Day 22 of Longbox of the Damned. Uh....what? Well, for this installment, Moarte takes a look at a Barbie comic themed around the Halloween season. I repeat, what?

Day 23 of Longbox of the Damned. What lengths would someone go to protect the people they love? Moarte reads a comic all about that in Demonic.

Day 24 of Longbox of the Damned. What we don't see is infinitely worse what we do. Moarte sees that for himself as the Dark Knight faces the Invisible Man in Batman: Unseen.

Day 25 of Longbox of the Damned. We've pretty much ticked all the other boxes this month. Why not revisit an old classic with the second issue of Eerie.

Day 26 of Longbox of the Damned. Who says superheroes and horror can't go together. Moarte looks at the first volume of Death Vigil and a team of heroes resurrected from the dead by a reaper.

Day 27 of Longbox of the Damned moves from sprites to polygons. The story of a zombie plague spreading throughout video games continues in 32-Bit Zombie.

Day 28 of Longbox of the Damned. Speaking of old favorites, the shop is once again open for business. Moarte steps back into Pet Shop of Horrors for the third volume.

Day 29 of Longbox of the Damned. Get some popcorn ready. Moarte looks at a comic based off of a classic MGM movie that is arguably better than the film: IT. The Terror from Beyond Space.

Day 30 of Longbox of the Damned. While that comic reviewer is doing some Elm Street content, Moarte decides to pay a visit to Mr. Krueger with a three issue story arc called Freddy's War.

It's Halloween once again. Before Moarte bids us farewell, he has one more comic to recommend. Time for the Xenomorphs and Predators to have their rematch in Aliens vs. Predator: War.
