Barry's fitness-mad neighbour annoyingly outshines him in all things physical. When it comes to karate, however, Barry has friends who can help him even the balance.

Howard dresses Tom up in racing gear, complete with helmet, and makes sure Pearl sees him so that he can use the disguise later to meet Marina - but others think he is Tom as well and Howard finds out just how busy and challenging Tom's day can be. Glenda has her own annoying neighbor to deal with.

Barry's aunt asks him to take a retired vicar to lunch with some of the boys, which neither of them really wish to do ...but when the vicar runs away it becomes the most exciting luncheon ever.

While Tom is cleaning out the back room he discovers a safe which Auntie has forgotten about for many years - now, not only can't she remember what's inside, but she has forgotten the combination as well! It's a good thing that Miss Davenport and Marina know a retired jewel thief.

After running into a man who is convinced that not only is Elvis alive, but in the village area, Alvin decides to play a wonderful joke on Howard; Barry misplaces his boss's dog in the park.

Howard feels that his life is in a rut and nothing exciting ever happens - until Alvin convinces an old chum, Eva, to help him play a joke on Howard, but the result is Howard going on the run.

Alvin & Entwistle offer Howard advice on how to romance Pearl again; Barry helps his neighbor, Mr. Chiselhurst try to romance Miss Davenport.

Howard wears bells on his legs to restore old traditions. Alvin and Entwistle go roller blading.

Merv has a crush on the pizza lady, but he hasn't the nerve to ask her out; the Gang can't resist, they have to help him out - which just gets Howard into trouble.

Clegg and Truly tell Alvin about their old friend Compo and his escapades making an impression on Alvin's current neighbor, Nora Batty.

Lenny is trying out a new show business career as an escapist. The problem is he's not very good at it.
