Howard gives Norman a letter for Marina. Truly, Norman and Compo meet a depressed man whose wife has left him. Auntie Wainwright is advertising her new line of riding gear and has had Wesley build a riding simulator which is tested by Compo.

Compo, Truly and Clegg meet Billy Hardcastle, who claims that he is a direct descendant of Robin Hood. Auntie Wainwright sells old golf clothing and clubs to Barry.

Marina is "fed up with being a play thing". Howard stood her up again, so she is finished with men. Auntie Wainwright puts Smiler in drag to advertise her new Ladies Department. Truly rents "Miss Smiler" to make Marina jealous.

Barry asks Truly to help him be more assertive. Auntie Wainwright has Smiler advertising her line of roller skates. Howard has a weight set delivered to Norman's house.

Auntie Wainwright sends Smiler out selling door to door with sample cases that are much too heavy. The handle breaks on one case and falls on his right foot. To keep his sore foot safe, Wesley modifies a wheelchair with a bumper. Howard is disguised as a blind man with Marina as his guide.

Compo is trying to develop enough balance to walk a tightrope. Barry grazes a knuckle and Glenda insists that he keep his arm in a sling. Truly, Norman and Compo meet a man who is searching the area for ground susceptible to earthquake. Howard and Marina try communicating with Morse code.

Howard's new plan on escaping from Pearl is to insist on staying at home with her. Compo remissness about a childhood game called "thumpy-dump". Truly has purchased a broken lawnmower from Auntie Wainwright.

Howard suspects Pearl is having an affair, so Truly organizes a crack surveillance team to identify the other man.

Truly investigates the mystery of the bus that disappeared between stops.

Auntie Wainwright discovers a batch of homemade wine that causes trouble for Smiler and Howard.
