A customer enters a suburban video store in West Long Branch, New Jersey. However, the clerk is nowhere to be found. He goes into the back room and finds Donna-Jean Roberts lying on the floor.

While studying in his room a college student in Columbus, Ohio hears a loud noise. He races through the house and finds two university students dead.

An elderly woman is found murdered in her Tampa home. Her home is ransacked and her prized 8.2-carat diamond ring is gone. Suspicion immediately turns to her much younger ex-boyfriend, who may have gotten greedy.
