While Norbert is on a business trip to Belgium, his house is being redecorated. Freddy decides to put in some new furniture on loan and Matthijs falls for the young female truck driver, Renske.

Norbert has to make video recording of his boss at work. Matthijs, who fancies a career in showbiz, takes this task very seriously. But then the Hogendijk house is burgled and the camera stolen.

Freddy and Matthijs want to surprise their father with a special breakfast for his birthday. They get dirty old Louis to play a butler, Matthijs manages to score some cheap caviar and there is even a Russian violinist.

When an attractive nurse comes round to sell lottery tickets, both Matthijs and Norbert take a liking to her. This despite the fact that she is too old for the son and too young for the father.

Norbert is angry at Matthijs for abruptly quitting his study, so the boy moves in with Suus. But when aunt Sophie and her little dog come to stay with Norbert and Freddy, they end up begging Matthijs to come home.

Freddy throws a costume party and has also invited her mother Tilly. Meanwhile Norbert seeks love advice from his son because he's in love with his much younger secretary Brechtje.

Norbert is losing contact with some colleagues because of reorganizations at work. Freddy suggests he starts a dinner club. When it's his turn to cook on their first meeting, he asks Freddy to do all the hard work in the kitchen.

Freddy is working at a hotel as an intern and Matthijs as a runner at Glamour Studios. Norbert is forced to begin working part time on account of further reorganizations at the ministry. He is too ashamed to tell his children.

While working as a runner thanks to his mother, Mathijs becomes starstruck after getting to appear as an extra. Meanwhile Freddy is asked to be the on-set caterer.

Freddy has had enough of Norbert & Matthijs eating from her snacks, so her mother helps her to play a trick on them. This leads to Norbert catching a cold.

When Norbert comes down with a cold, his ex-wife Tilly comes round to look after him. This annoys Suus so much, she ends up going on strike and locking herself in the bathroom.

Mathijs' driving exam is jeopardized by ducks on the road. Freddy has acquired a small van of her own for her catering business.

Norbert has received a trip for two of his choosing as a parting gift from the Ministry. His children decide to place an add seeking a suitable traveling companion for their father.
