Matthijs is off to college and takes a room with fellow students Tony & René. But when his room turns out to be a broom closet he wants to move back home. However, his place in his father's house has already been taken by his younger sister Freddy.

Now that Mathijs has moved out and Freddy in, she offers to clean and cook for Norbert. But Mathijs announces he's dropped out of school because of claustrophobia and wants his room back.

Matthijs is living in a tent in the garden but wants to move into the garage. Suus has spent almost all of her inheritance and has bought a house nearby. Matthijs and his pal Sjuul start a lucrative business as wallpaper men. But Norbert panics when the wallpaper turns out to be stolen and Freddy happens to be dating a policeman.

Matthijs brings an old chair invested by woodworm into the house, as well as a snake in a basket that he promised to look after for a girlfriend.

Norbert falls in love with Freddy's teacher Hannie. But Matthijs becomes suspicious when he learns the woman is a four time widow.

When Norbert hires a handyman called Mans to fix the kitchen sink rather than Matthijs' friend Sjuul, the family almost ends up having to move out.

Norbert doesn't want anybody to enter his expensive new kitchen. Matthijs is aiming to win a competition to play the local Sinterklaas. He a gets former Sint, thespian Albert Paardekoper, to coach him.

Matthijs has agreed to be a guinea pig and test a new shampoo, XY2002. But he chickens out at the last minute and tricks his father (and inadvertently his sister) into using the shampoo, just before they go to a fancy diner at the French embassy.

Matthijs & Freddy apply for a summer job at the same restaurant. He as a waiter and she as dishwasher. But Freddy soon manages to climb up to the position of assistant manager. Her first task: to fire her brother.

Norbert will allow Matthijs & Freddy to throw a party, on the condition they are nice to each other for an entire week.

Norbert is challenged to break a record at his local snooker club, so Matthijs becomes his coach. But things go wrong when Norbert tries a miracle drug from the Amazon rain forest his son has been raving about.

A bus stop has temporarily been placed right in front of the Hogendoorn house. While Norbert tries to get it removed as soon as possible, Matthijs sees it as a quick and easy way to make some money.
