Bride Kate screams out of her mind to find groom Roman's bleeding corps, then goes into desperate denial. Sami's true grief over the loss of a parent quickly turns into- alienating the other by blaming Marlena, who blames John. Tony is arrested sneaking out, masked, a samurai sword like from his collection is found. Bo once more tries to strangle Tony like a lynching barbarian; others verbally attack him, only Rex gets a dignified denial and fatherly admonition to stop following Brady-emotions and use cool DiMera intellect; dragged away in handcuffs, Tony warns the ...

Rex kindly condoles and consoles Kate, who commends her other sons to accept him as sibling trough her. Sami's latest heartless hight is blaming blood-covered bride for what the groom's death puts her and her ma trough, yet Lucas's boundless love for Will makes him accept taking over consoling the snake. Shirtless Shawn consoles Belle, ignorant Jan still lurks and spies from the closet. Meanwhile Rex finds solace with Mimi. Bo still intends to kill Tony without trial, yet city hall asks him to succeed Romas as acting chief of police. Handling the killer mask gives ...

Jen dreams about surprising Shawn in the shower, but he actually wakes up and takes a baseball-bat when hearing a sound; she can barely get away because he didn't want to scare Belle by telling he felt watched. Lucas wakes up in bed with Sami and explains he's taking such good care of the ingrate because Will wants and needs to feel them getting along like a real pair of parents. Belle learns Marlena may be blaming and dumping John for real over Roman's death. Kate and Marlena dream of Roman returning alive, rivaling as widows, later walk in -unamused- on Lucas in ...

Shawn realizes his sense of being stalked is real, and nearly gets Jan in the precinct, where she signs the condolence book for Roman as Mary Smith, the starts chasing tenaciously. Tony tells Bart he's innocent, so the real killer is free as the dumb police is off-guard, indeed when TEK bursts bumbling Bo Brady's bubble, there is no shred of evidence against Tony as the sword tested negative, rather then face facts he blindly continues pro- and persecuting DiMera on pure prejudice, bragging nobody would even accept his defense. Tony already called off his top-lawyer ...

Chloe considers refusing Vienna to stay with Brady, who insists she must seize the unique chance, so she goes and he resolves to come along, cutting Nicole's joy short, but Chloe insists he parts with a last kiss. The court hears no conclusive proof against Tony, just unruly Bo's prejudice; Mikey challenges the evidence; TEK is delayed and states not the sword but the wedding cake knife is the murder weapon... Jen is told the baby only has a small survival chance given congenital heart problems, and only at greater risk for her own life.

Seeing a hammer while doing push-ups in his boxers, Shawn takes his baseball bat, but it's just Belle; he tells her sensing a stalker, indeed Jen who has to tell Nicole but is offered a mutual pact if she helps out with Brady. The judge is ready to dismiss Tony for lack of proof, when Marlena pleads his full innocence, earning her attacks from the whole Brady clan but she insists the feud is too lethal and scorns their arrogance as every indicated victim died despite them. Equals Victor and Tony discretely concur the killer must be about, and probably a cunning female.

Nicole overhears Victor considering Tony's offer to pool their resources to get the presumably female, crafty, soulless serial killer. When the judge rules there is no ground to have Tony put on trial, hate-blinded Bo champions the Brady clan's prejudice by claiming the DiMera name is reason enough. When Marlena leaves, the masked killer is waiting in the courthouse with a strangling cord- no, once she's tied-up John shows himself, 'unable to get trough to her less creatively', insisting a DiMera's acquittal supposedly proves nothing, actually destroying her faith in ...

Bart brings Tony, who meditates in the basement, cereals and the boss's special instructions- for Rex, who is enjoying a frolicking evening home with Mimi but can't put Roman out of his mind, and is frustrated he no longer can lock thoughts out. Shawn and Belle are shocked -like the whole Brady clan- about Tony's release in court. Victor considered Nicole's gun-threat bluff, but she shoots- ignoring its loaded with blanks. When Brady arrives, she's upstairs, talking to her even more evil mirror-reflexion; Victor tells Brady to keep out and calls Tony he's ready to ...

Even at Roman's funeral, shameless Sami screams to the priest the next of kin flag shouldn't go to 'nothing for him' widow Kate but his children, only Will's presence prevents another 'all your fault', grandpa Shawn stops her chasing Rex. Rex bitterly remarks only a stone remains of a life, Mimi says blood lives on in family. While Tony meditates with tiger teeth, Marlena dreams of the killer's yellowish eyes, a tiger coming for her next, with Roman as her guide 'home' to heaven, then goes speak at the funeral. Doug brought a surprising souvenir: a Bengal tiger.

Agent Spector, now ISA chief, warns Kate's daughter, agent Billy, went missing during a routine diplomat security mission in Eastern Europe; her room contained clippings on the Salem murders and an unintelligible voice-mail message for Bo, which TEK still manages to repair. Mickey is persuaded by Bonnie to dress cowboy style, like her. Marlena thinks her nightmare is a warning about Doug's tiger -actually rescued from an abusive South American circus- attacking her. Tony plays with the cage-lock.

While jogging, Brady contemplates his pa and grandpa's marital problems. Tony explains to blindly hostile Shawn by the cage that the tiger incarnates the bloodthirsty law of nature, senses the black-hooded killer's presence and finds the metal spike (s)he dropped. The repaired ISA message is Billy was prepared to tell Bo who the Salem killer is, a compelling reason to go look for her in Eastern Europe. While Tony and Victor confer, Nicole overhears them, hooded in black. Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Brady finds himself stuck again between the deadly hateful spouses.

Shirtless lover Shawn brings Belle breakfast in bed and shows a mysterious paper ad the killer will be revealed at the Horton charity circus. Victor tells Brady it should mean Nicole's last free day. She packs a gun and remembers Jan of their deal. Lucas and Philip find mother Kate unconscious in bed besides an empty pills bottle- false alarm, just a hangover. Tony placed the ad and prepares a sword to announce him personally, then is carried into the circus in a box, but the masked killer is already around. Marlena has another tiger-John-nightmare after counseling ...

Tony is awaiting to surprise the costumed killer, who is already roaming around and steals animal drugs. Lucas convinces Kate to do a -fake- knife-throwing act to raise money for Roman's favorite charity - in Sami's sick mind (just scolded by Brady) a bloody opportunity, so she locks him in the toilet to take his place... Rex, Shawn and Philip are slightly embarrassed, shirtless in tights, for a high-wire act with Belle and Mimi, who faints so perfect Rex carries her, dropping his pole.

Lucas gets out of the chemical toilet Sami locked him into, John proves she's throwing real knives at Kate, Marlena manages to stop her turning on him in front of Will, even works apologies, accepted by Kate's doing. Nicole sneers at Victor she won't show mercy, he Tony will soon stop her. The circus show goes on, although the magician who gives Belle the creeps disappears; Tony announces in his top-hat costume he'll disclose the killer's name, but (s)he continues elaborate preparations and manages to unlock the tiger cage...

Costumed Tony masterly warms up the crowd to his spectacular announcement of the Salem stalker's female identity, keeping them riveted to the tale of Maggie and Cassie killed before they could tell, but meanwhile the masked murderer has unlocked the tiger, who wanders onto blinded 'clown' Bonnie, and started a red drip on Tony's top-hat before knocking down the roustabout reporting it. Brady finds Nicole- and the tiger, just in time to hide; they get stuck, she steals a kiss trying to trick him into last chance-love; Victor finds them. Still shirtless Shawn tries to ...

The tiger has got his teeth in Tony after the blood bucket knocked him over so his sword dropped, but is scared away leaving the count alive, hard to evacuated badly wounded in the mayhem. Meanwhile the still shirtless gays lock the girls in the cage, safe for the tiger- but an easy prey for the more pernicious predator, the masked killer who approaches with her(?) knife, still stupidly scolding Sami locks them in herself; but the stalker is scared off by Bonnie blowing fire with an aerosol, alas clumsily, causing a fire inside, Rex finally puts it out after ...

Now the immediate danger seems subsided the heroic men lick their wounds. Brady takes Nicole home, where the sight of cop Ruiz makes her freak. Victor promises to prove her guilt to Brady who, nevertheless, assures Nicole that he believes her innocence. Only Tony remains in hospital; Rex is sincerely worried. The gang brings Shawn and Bonnie in for medical check-ups. Lexie idiotically stops Tony naming the killer. Meanwhile the killer in surgical white sneaks in, dumps the mask costume and steals a poisonous drug to inject Tony, who suspects the face of.

Stalker Jan may fantasize about shirtless Shawn reserving his lips for her, in fact he eagerly strips to briefs for a hero-rewarding massage by Belle. Tony fears he's about to be killed by Marlena's syringe but fails to call out when John checks on him (while Marlena hides), even though he knows that his death will be a painful, paralyzing and slow asphyxiation. Nicole tells Brady that Victor is framing her for 'his' murder, and he confronts granddad who runs to hospital fearing Nicole is going to finish off Tony before he can talk.

Everyone, apart from Marlena, hopes Tony's consent to an adrenaline shot may still allow him to finally indicate the killer. Marlena is confident his overdose will be fatal. Although Tony remains conscious, he is unable to communicate, and has another heart attack which is terminal. Rex refuses to go to see Tony and Shawn finds out it's too late. In bed, Shawn comforts Belle who worries about repercussions for her family. Victor and Brady still wrestle with their suspicion Nicole is the Salem stalker and she feeds Brady a romantic story. Victor finds her jewel ...

Sami kisses Lucas, to Will's delight, but it is probably to spite Kate. Lucas learns about Tony's death. Bonnie's growing influence seems to rejuvenate Mickey Horton, she even plans to take over Tuscany and turn the late Maggie's classy restaurant into her Country dream. Shawn has another reason to comfort Belle when Céleste says she senses death all around Marlena.

Sami now tells Lucas her kiss was out of love, as feared by Kate, who is desperate to prevent that miserable mismatch. Marlena throws John out, saying the killer is too close, remembers Roman's startled face and cuts herself slightly panicking. Kate and John compare notes, speculating Nicole or Sami is the killer. Seeing them comfort each-other, Marlena feels betrayed even by him. Mickey is now blind to Bonnie's faults, causing a rift in the family; she frantically tries to recover the obviously pawned Maggie-souvenirs.

Lucas and Sami have violent dreams about love and hate, but are awoken by Will's nightmare, and for his sake spend the night together again, she uses her waterworks; seeing her in Lucas' comforting arms and even a kiss reinforces Kate's feeling the shrew must be stopped. Nicole overhears Victor tell Brady he's preparing a file for the police to get her on death row as multiple murderer; Brady catches her and resolves to ignore her eternal lies from now on. Shawn decides to consoles Belle with an early Valentine's day present, his grandma's golden crucifix. Marlena ...

Shawn takes Belle back to the circus to look for clues; he jumps down in Tarzan-style on a hooded roustabout after she screamed surprised, later she gets a real reason. Sami decides to 'prove we're normal parents' to Will by going on his camping trip with Lucas against the kid's will. He's surprised, but worried about their best behavior together in public, yet takes dad's word. Barely there, she screams murder about having to share a tent with Lucas, ironically a real snake is slithering in. Brady nor Victor are amused by Nicole's handcuffs-ploy, Henderson can't cut ...

Nicole continues to drag handcuffed Brady along, manages to spill a can of tuna fish on him so she can literally lick it off him and make him strip and shower with her. They hear a bang, then fantasize about finding Victor shot. Lucas skilfully gets the snake out unharmed, pretending to be bitten, and thus finds out Sami cares more for him then she admits. The reptile is happily picked up by it's planter: Will, who speculated it would get his parents frisky again. Despite the false panic, Shawn and Belle are jumpy, yet fail to catch stalker Jan, who escapes ...

Frisky Lucas's frolicking is soon accepted, but only in Sami's dream, in reality she won't even let him fetch wood for the fire, and stupidly falls into a pit. Brady sees Nicole's message to Jan, but ignores what or to whom; she drag him to a pool bar where she shamelessly dances with her hands on his rear, safely away while Jen sneaks in, instructed to kill Victor. John finds Marlena holding the knife to slit Cassandra Céleste's throat, but thinks it's only out of fear for him, then shows the bloody button Shawn found. Mikey now hesitates what to do with Maggy's ...

Lucas is startled by Sami's declaration of love after he saved her from the tiger in the pit, then realizes knocking her head made her believe they're married; then he falls. Nicole is desperate to stop Brady find out on her PDA, kissing and playing the victim work, to her delight, then the locksmith arrives. Victor drinks to her damnation. Supposedly enamored Shawn motivates Jan to try killing him again while he listens to music in the bath, talks to and then electrocutes the haughtily threatening billionaire. Philip manages to bring morbidly mourning ma Kate in the ...

In the pit, Lucas and Sami strip for love, suddenly she screams and slaps him, oblivious she seduced him. She starts dreaming of him again after catching up with match-maker Will, who stayed behind for them after his class moved camp. Belle freaks now Shawn believes -correctly- her ma Marlena is the killer. Philip's sentimental gift calms Kate. While the locksmith cuts Brady free from brooding Nicole, Jan leaves Victor electrocuted in his bath. This causes a black-out in the mansion and Nicole tries to sneak her out. Brady finds him, still breathing.

Marlena keeps assorted Tuscany knives at the ready when she finds out that Shawn suspects her as the serial killer. However the Black bunch collectively treats Shawn as the dangerous madman, on emotional prejudice, and even suggests a permanent break-up with Belle. Jen's car accident victim, Patrick, is a charming, studly athletic type who has just arrived in Salem. He is not insured and his wallet is stolen, so she insists on putting him up in the guest house once he's diagnosed and released; he immediately starts snooping. To Nicole's relieve, the closed bathroom ...

Bo was ready to arrest Nicole for Victor's murder, but has no proof. Brady can only confirm her iron-clad handcuffs alibi: she and Marlena are off the hook for this one, therefore less plausible as serial killer too. Shawn keeps an open mind despite Belle's ultimatum. Even Philip's attack on his dad's presumed murderer is repulsed. Victor's lawyer Gene Brisco arrives to name Brady and Philip as executors, hinting Nicole will be shoved aside. However, nobody has the new combination to the safe with the amended will, so they wait for a locksmith for the next day. Nicole...

Brady calls Chloe to inform her about Victor's death and assures her it changes nothing for their future. Nicole screams and faints, leaving blood on her hand which he treats, but resists her n-th seduction. Sami dreams of passionate love with Lucas, acts indignant when he really checks up on her moaning but he guesses, then consoles her. Now she realizes all her evil scheming has left her alone and unloved by any other survivor apart from their son, Will. Marlena left Shawn's bedroom believing she killed him, but he's already at Belle's, hugging up and apologizing ...

Doug tells his wife he remembers the killer entering Tony's room, but refuses to tell even her until he's completely sure. She insists she will only tell Hope, fearing he'll be the next target. Belle shrieks when TEK reports finding a brunette's hair in Shawn's blood-soiled bed; forensics fully fit Marlena, yet Belle swears Shawn to silence. Brady can't believe Nicole is the serial killer, even defends her to his dad. While Nicole hoped in vain her killer, Jen, would have recognized the Salem stalker, locksmith Trask arrives to open Victor's safe.

Will enjoys preparing a school project, eagerly helped by dear daddy Lucas and devoted granny Kate. She gets him to tell her all about his parents' school camping trip (tent-sharing), even the tiger and how he arranged a class friend's pet snake to be dropped in. Meanwhile Lucas goes fetch a glue-stick at Sami's. Despite dreaming of passionate love with him, she viciously vilifies him after spilling green glue-goo over his T-shirt and denying his hunky bared chest does anything to her. However, to Kate's disappointment that still doesn't really turn him off the vixen....

Rex and Mimi immensely enjoy their romantic Valentine weekend at the mountain lodge -especialy in bed- although now neither can afford it. While locksmith Trask finds Victor's safe harder to crack then expected, Nicole is astonished Jen saw Victor open it. Patrick is overheard telling someone over the phone he's in Europe, but manages a lie saying that it's to keep an auto-shop client. He then calls home to tell them he's coming to claim his rights from his startled mother- Bonnie Lockhardt, who calls Mimi in panic. Hearing Hope will come check him out, Patrick makes ...

Patrick Lockhart discloses he's Mimi's big brother, Bonnie tells her she squandered his inheritance, yet dreams of coaching him to marry rich widow Jen while she seduces Mikey. Doug tells Marlena he knows she's the killer, answered with clever denial. Locksmith Trask finally cracks Victor's safe, Nicole ostentatiously tries to prevent it being opened, but there's neither murder evidence nor a will inside, she picked it earlier but had to hide it when Trask returned with extra equipment.

Even Brady doubts Nicole's story, but given the complete lack of evidence -in fact hidden in the couch- and Trask's confirmation that safe couldn't be cracked, even the bumbling sleuths start doubting her guilt. It's Roman's turn to warn (in a vision) Doug is about to join him as victim of the killer. Marlena ponders and tells Doug the truth, in tears to have nearly killed Shawn and Belle, then his talk she must turn herself in resets her survival instinct.

Kate implores Lucas to concentrate on finding a good job to provide for Will, not Sami. He reassures Will he's a lovechild, but the boy refuses to believe it's a wilted love, as if she just plays hard to get. The clueless detectives -actually taking their cue from a crystal ball- fail to find Doug in the locked-up St.Luke's cemetery, where Marlena has her knife on his throat; he struggles loose, but is caught and stabbed gravely. Lucas thinks Kate didn't tell him about an ideal executive job for Basic Black to keep him away from Sami, but actually she offers it to the...

Shawn cuddles up to Belle to keep her warm on the balcony and sweetly fetches his grandma's crucifix he gave her as protective talisman when she drops it, yet Belle freaks he still suspects her ma to be the killer. Lucas dashes out to answer a call from Tony's lawyers, but walks back in on Sami and Kate bickering over the London dream job and whether Wiil's parents can and should get together. While Doug dies in his weeping daughter's arms, Marlena is determined to escape the bumbling bunch she outsmarts at every move, hiding in a tomb, but TEK has also arrived.

While killer Marlena already washes her knife and purse clean at home, Shawn vows revenge over his grandpa Doug's corps as the bumbling detectives face their consistent failing, Hope didn't even pass on Doug knew too. Belle arrives home, alone with Marlena, and discusses how she fits the profile and possible motives, which makes ma keep the knife ready while remembering her killing blows.

Shawn informs Brady, who tells Nicole about Doug. Nicole tries to coach Jan to help fetch and destroy the evidence in the couch, while she tries to distract Brady, who however guesses it's somewhere in the mansion. Even TEK can't speed up the forensics, nobody believes the bumbling detectives' boasting anymore. Marlena is haunted by the thought of telling Belle, clutching the knife while she analyzes the killer profile with some sympathy. John arrives, still denying the obvious danger, Marlena imagines confessing and in a struggle accidentally stabbing him. Belle lies...

Shawn hesitates whether to tell Bo his suspicion. TEK finds the dirt under Doug's fingernails but speaks against assuming Belle fakes an alibi for her ma. John finally works up the courage to doubt Marlena's innocence and searches her place, but she scolds him, knowing she already gt rid of the evidence, he admits having seen her. Philip gets shouted a beer by a dating show fan, who concludes his heart is pawned- to Belle. Nicole pretends she's helping Brady to look for Victor's will, proof of which he finds by a contingent clause in a trust fund for Philip, so she ...

Lucas now sees Sami is frustrated by phantasms during his shirtless push-ups, then suggests they both take basic jobs in London. Rex and Mimi enjoy their young love, unconditionally, and contemplate a common future. Nicole is terrified that Brady may find the evidence before Jan, he just wonders why the fireplace is lighted; actually Jan kept the files, as insurance. John drives denying the obvious (apologizing to Marena for suspecting her), Sami arrives to incite her mother to stab him before he gets to her. Belle 'forgives' Shawn, knowing she lied to him for her ...

Brady's ranting about the fact that the female suspects can't keep Philip's attention - when they see Shawn with Belle. He's in fact working up the courage to propose, inspired by Rex's plan. The cousin scold each-other for 'thinking below the belt'. Rex rented a tuxedo and pawned his watch to book a fancy restaurant, but can't propose after mother Lockhart denied the ex-DiMera her hand - the one condition grandpa Shawn posed for the use of his mother's knitted rings. Mother Lockhart tries to make Patrick wait till Tuscany makes her rich, or he seduces Jen.

Rex is even more down when Philip scolds him for building up Mimi's hopes as he ignored she knew he wanted to propose. Mimi goes ballistic at ma for refusing the engagement to Rex now that he's no longer a golden heir and tells her to stay out of their lives. Only TEK realizes John is covering for the killer, and that only Marlena fits all rational criteria. However, the bumbling detectives still refuse to consider her seriously after so many cleared suspects. John only tells Brady about Belle's lie. Marlena tries to talk Belle out of owning up to Shawn, but overhears...

Rex is delighted that Mimi proposes to him, but feels obliged to refuse marriage until he's able to provide for her, she nearly breaks up with him but ends up agreeing. Nicole is rude to butler Henderson just for having been 'too loyal' to Victor, then discusses with the Master's specter how to handle possible estate claims from his own relatives. She hopes to make Brady her trump card, and so hesitates to refuse releasing the funds for the Isabella Memorial concert hall which would allow Chloe to return. Marlena overhears Shawn and Belle, imagines having to shoot ...

Hearing the Devereaux girls scream, Patrick walks in on their friendly food fight, and gets covered in so much chocolate cake mix he has to remove his soaked shirt. Patrick announces he's moving but but is convinced that they need a strong protective man at hand while the serial killer is lurking around. Marlena intends to kill off Alice, but TEK realizes the police computer breakdown is the killer's doing and openly confront her. Shawn's theory may finally convince the precinct if he can bring himself to doubt Belle.

Patrick's quick intervention has saved Jen's baby; he's most eager to get his silver 'pirate coin', which Abby found, back. Kate finally opens a letter from Roman, which makes her imagine they're holding and kissing one last time. After John wasted time with voodoo going berserk, he turns to father Tim Jensen, who starts to suspect Marelna was the killer in his confessional, yet can only hint to John. TEK confers with Shawn, but still doesn't get the answer. Marlena has arrived at Alice's, slipped in with the spare key, but finds her bed empty- grandma is waiting for ...

Kate has overheard Eric say that Marlena has no alibi for Abe's murder and concludes correctly, given John's doubts. After exchanging worries and suspicion, John races to check on Alice and Shawn to Belle, who doesn't answer the phone while in bath, oblivious Jen is there, planning to electrocute her and set up Marlena. Shawn's car ax breaks down. John crashes into Sami, who came to get Will, and pulls a gun, ranting he's the killer, Stefano's evil incarnated etc. Roman's ghost and her other killing memories slow Marlena down again, but she takes control again and ...

Alice is found stabbed and is dead before Lucas, Shawn and Belle arrive. Brady realizes Nicole is an incurable liar having found a burnt piece of the opera house model. While Sami keeps raging that John is the killer, he confronts Marlena and is witted out of his gun, they end up wrestling on the balcony. Found out by Marlena, Nicole and Jan feels desperate, the last even suicidal.

Shawn has proposed to Belle, who is moved by the romantic woolen rings, but finally comes clean about her alibi (lie). This hits Shawn as hard as she feared: he can't even suffer her presence anymore. In hospital Marlena is waking up, apparently confused and frightened. This only stirs up Sami's anger towards everybody, especially 'killer' John, who is accused of pushing his wife. Meanwhile it looks like Jack's baby is not going to make it.

Marlena wakes up, denies having confessed and accuses John of both pushing her and being the serial killer. Only Bo resists investigating her theory. Patrick turns up at Jen's hospital bed and uses suggestion, strong enough to save Jack's baby again. While Jen fantasizes about Shawn, he actually calls about overhearing Patrick's conversation with the mystery-man, who insists on coming over, already worried Patrick may have lost his credibility; the two men fight, Patrick takes the bonds to return to Jen. Philip still resists Kate's pushing. Marlena gets up, finds she's locked-out and gets shot at as Bo ordered to stop ...

Patrick still packs to leave again. Lucas now tries to console Sami by being the optimistic voice about her mother's fate, and strikes the right tone with Will, but then they see breaking TV news. Crystal phones Nicole - the Marlena murder plan is on track, causing Brady to suspect her again, while John is as vehemently against the shooting as Bo is pro. Patrick meets the mystery man and warns him to leave him ago and Jen in peace, is attacked by two goon he can fight off, but cowardly overpowered from behind and dropped at Jen's door.

Rex is so down in the dumps that even a sensual massage by Mimi can't distract him, yet they make love. Badly wounded, Patrick tries to leave again but faints and is made to rest, refusing hospital treatment or to report it. Entering 'crone' Jan's trapped mansion, Shawn is drugged. Patrick still refuses to go to hospital or the police and intends to leave, but the Mystery man calls, ordering he finally takes care of Jen.

While Marlena is mourned in chapel, her ghost warns that more killing is to come. Lucas warns Sami, in vain, not to drive everyone away with her violent vindictive behaviour. Jan kisses the unconscious, caged Shawn until he mentions Belle. Mortician Milbauer is most accommodating. Shawn wakes up bathing in sweat, tied up and shirt cut off, on top of him 'Mrs. B.', who reveals she's his and Belle's nightmare - Jan.

Rex gently tells John that the Marlena will live on in their hearts, while her ghost claims that, somehow, all Salem will die. John asks mortician Milbauer for proof that she's dead. Philip massages Belle, who worries that Shawn didn't even call after the media shooting coverage, but Rex remembers that he once hid a tracking device on him a while back. Alas the signal dies before Rex can pinpoint Jan's island mansion, where Shawn discovers (handcuffed shirtless to the cage) that she believes rapist Mendez's baby was 'Shawn junior'.

Shawn, increasingly desperate, tries in vain to threaten Jen once he manages to get free. She still denies that he never loved her, but Mendez raped her and she keeps imagining a loving marriage with a baby. Brady doesn't buy Nicole's claim that she commiserates with him rather than celebrates that Marlena can no longer point her out as Victor's killer, when she tells him about the shooting. Nicole rushes to Jan to make her pay off Crystal, but finds Shawn caged, overhears him scolded and nearly whipped. Marlena's dream gets even better and unbelievable, including a live Roman who has a startling announcement for her. Kate finds comfort -and more- with John.

Marlena starts to believe Roman's story that they and the other presumed serial murder victims are alive in an exact copy of Salem, only on a tropical island with no way out - then refuses to believe it can be anything but purgatory. While Patrick watches her, Jen isn't believed a call and an e-mail are really from Jack. Sami's fake confession convinces Lucas to give her another last chance, Kate isn't fooled but can only accept 'apologies'.

Rex reports Alice's opening brings big bucks. Kate is relieved Lucas only gave Sami a lift, no longer considering the snake as partner, while she dreams of marrying him after jailing Kate, but he's already line-dancing with a foxy chick at every arm. Patrick rejects ma's advice to leave dangerous Jen, who gets a surprise on the way to her airfield appointment 'with Jack'. While Jan tells disgusted Shawn he'll betroth her, showing a broadcast of Philip's hot dance with Belle, the police lab has identified her fingerprinted earring. Earl is offered his Basic job again, and would normally refuse but his wife makes him accept as it's their security. At the Kiriakis mansion, a shock for residents Nicole and Crystal, already uneasily watched by Brady.

Shawn couldn't trick Jan into 'freeing' him, so she makes him watch Alice's opening recording, then allows him to watch Nascar. He fails to see Belle's appeal, and Philip's notice as Casey Mears's sponsor. While the Salem PD makes TEK investigate him, Patrick tries to follow Jen's trail. Alas his ma 'finds' his pirate coin and stupidly sells it for a pittance $100: he has no choice but hard-handedly 'annul' that- and is arrested. On the island, Roman still incriminates Tony, while Jack actually approaches the crash, which Jen survived, unlike pilot Curtis Davis, but ...

While Kate argues against Philip's sponsoring, she assures him he'll get Belle, who starts to despair if her call will work. Shawn has seen a glimpse, is convinced Belle was alive, and starts reasoning with Jan, who may finally be listening. Patrick has no choice but overpower Hope to continue searching for Jen, who is still hanging from the cliff, while Jack approaches.

While Shawn remains helplessly caged, unable to react to Belle's message, Philip ceases his change with Belle, is scorned and decides to move out again. Patrick left Hope cuffed, but she escaped, caught up and holds him at gunpoint, yet he continues preparing the plane to go save Jennifer. Jack didn't quite catch her, but sees she only fell on a latch and improvises a rope. Nicole fears Jan is her last hope, while Crystal is finally handled as the murderous trash she is and can't flee.

Philip and Belle are startled to see Jan is back, but her 'suddenly double-orphaned' sob-act gets him Belle's advantage of the doubt-sympathy. Patrick pilots well, but Hope's stupid shot damaged the radio so badly they don't realize ...

Rex reassures Mimi after a bath together that she needn't be jealously insecure. Lucas was knocked down by jealous Sami and suffered a bleeding head-wound - suddenly Sami is concerned, Lucas forgets about Manda and kisses his ecstatic nemesis again, albeit with an appropriate one-word prank. TEK saw Patrick's plane explode, tries to reign in Bo's uncontrolled emotional rage but is literally knocked down. TEK agrees to babysit him on an all-means search and rescue. To Jen's delight and Philip's suspicious surprise, Belle offers the hand of friendship and invites her ...

Rex's presence adds to Jen's joy when Mimi's warning is dismissed and Belle declares that she no longer wants Shawn and chooses Philip. Patrick manages to save himself and Hope from the swarming sharks. Bo jumps in mindlessly, becoming a bleeding bait in minutes but is saved by smart Tek. Nicole offers Brady her jewels to save the concert building, which is gratefully refused, Kate realizes he's falling in love. Roman and Marlena heard the missile explosion, speculate about the manipulator and get a spectacular surprise.

Jan dodges Philip and Mimi's suspicious questions and pretend to have a mystery fiancé. Roman and Marlena 'welcome' Patrick and Hope in fake Salem while TEK stops Bo from jumping back in. Jack wakes up but fears he only imagined rescuing Jen.

Titan legal counsel Gene Briscoe warns Brady that the opera grant runs out unless the board signs by midnight, so they summon Philip, Belle and Bo, just when Nicole was about to remove Victor's CEO nameplate, but in vain. Jan plans to break Shawn's and Belle's mutual trust and loyalty by doctoring recordings, Shawn resorts to desperate action. On the island, Patrick is still cruelly grilled whether he knows how to break the force field to save Jack and Jen. Victor takes stock of his emotional life.

Jan escapes Shawn's strangulating hold by pretending to faint and kicking him in the crotch. Despairing in Shawn, Belle finally kisses Philip, yet tells him and Jan her love survives. Jack arrived only to see the rope bridge collapse, and fears he has lost his true love forever. TEK concludes the Coast Guard findings leave no reasonable hope for Hope.

Brady calls Chloe and suggests that he join her abroad now the opera house financing failed. Nicole's suggestion of too little commitment gets him kissing, but he refuses to go further. Philip surprises Jan and hears something, Belle hurts herself while dragged along 'on a walk' so they go inside - meanwhile Shawn is drugged. Marlena's casket is dug up after the teddy Will had buried with her turned up, and the casket is found empty. Undertaker Mr. Milbauer is questioned, but killed before he can show his private accounts. Victor moves in with Caroline.

Nicole suggests to Brady that Chloe gave up nothing for him and keeps him at a distance, something no lover would do. Rex instantly spots Jan's earring is a concealed transmitter. Fake Salem is astonished by a last, tantalizing surprise: short web-cam views on the real Penthouse Grill, just enough to see they are being replaced as partners. Kate admits fighting Lucas's proposal can only back-fire, but can't help herself hearing Sami demands such extraordinary romantic effort he starts remembering she's impossible. So Will's parents go all the way, publicly.

Shawn, Kate and Nicole get desperate upon hearing that Lucas' proposal is accepted. In real Salem even TEK has no clue about Roman's radio signal, which he modifies. After Roman reports to the others, Tony joins them, claiming to ignore what's being done or how to get away, then falls on the radio, which breaks.

After Lucas' accepted proposal Kate and the bride must continue their pretend relationship, he plans to go and tell Will in summer camp. As deluding Jan mistakes him for Jack, Patrick plays along to coach her delivery. Nicole hopes to have sidetracked Chloe now that Brady has kissed her twice, stepping up seduction by 'losing' her top and frolicking in the pool. A hidden man lets Roman's party slip through the force field. Roman pierces his foot in a spiked trap, Marlena stays with him and substitutes kissing for anesthetic. Hearing this gives despairing Shawn the strength to break his cuffs and the cage, but the door is closed. Sami's romantic mood is spoiled when Kate drops by. Lucas encourages her to start a new life with John. Nicole can't stop Brady packing for Vienna, even before the hospital calls him his diva may not survive a car crash. After Patrick revives Jen, both feel guilty. Roman and Marlena declare they are still each-others lovers and kiss.

A hooded man keeps a syringe ready to save Roman after photographing his 'dying' kiss with Marlena. A computer-printed map shows the pirate island was renamed New Salem. Mimi's final diagnosis is healthy but - she is pregnant, she tells Rex only first. They celebrate intimately.

Shawn must abandon his broken-down motorcycle 20 miles from the lodge, where Philip and Belle enjoy the hot-tub. Nicole feels like she's in heaven with Brady, except for her physical 'conscience' Victor who reminds her about Chloe. Bo finds the only women he even cheated on Hope with: Billie Reed.

Feeling betrayed, Shawn races home furiously - and has a bad crash, leaving him comatose with bleak prospects. Jack is found, pulled up from the ledge and brought into New Salem. Patrick is believed dead after his fall into the ravine.

Will learned to play poker in summer camp and insists on a wedding date soon or they're not serious. Rex surprises Mimi as a regular smiling visitor to neonatal. An ISA agent formally notifies Kate that Billie is dead, so she must tell the family while New salem ponders her 'posthumous' arrival's consequences.

Rex tells Philip and Kate to give up Belle. Tony defeats Zen master Hattori Hanzo in sword-fighting and is declared ready for Stefano's master plan, which is discussed with loyal Bart, the new chief of prisoner control. Now Shawn wakes up, Belle is puzzled why he's calling for her. Lucas, Will and Kate mourn Billie.

Tony explains to Bart how Stefano's plan allowed him to brainwash Marlena and simulate her victims deaths, while a corrupt medical examiner, body switches and fake funerals made it look real. And how he staged his own death. But why? Jan uses the ring trying to make Philip, Brady, Belle and Nicole believe Shawn never left for the merchant marine but is her secret fiancé.

After a night of love with Rex, Mimi secretly schedules an abortion for his child. Both learn about Belle's despair, she argues against Mimi's plan. Patrick wakes up naked with Hope and finally convinces her of his noble intentions. Tony is pressed to open the force-field, impossible now Hope has stolen the remote.

Rex questions Philip if being Belle's second choice is good enough. Still naked Patrick is amused by Bo and Hope's blind jealousy. Shawn recovers fast and desperately wants out. He starts wondering why he never left the mansion all summer. Belle fails to talk Mimi out of her abortion plan. Tony watches two men climb out over the perimeter.

Brady, Philip and Shawn learn about the latest presumed deaths, and tell Belle. Rex notices Mimi's distress, but she lies rather than tell him. In the New Salem jungle various search and rescue efforts are underway, but so are masked men with tranquilizer guns. Patrick can't convince Hope to return, so they set out too. When Mimi postpones Rex's surprise picnic, he discovers her true appointment.

Rex tells Kate Mimi is keeping a secret for him, and he discovered she went to the women's clinic. She finally has the abortion, he tenderly welcomes her with a teddy-bear for when their parenting time comes. Lucas tells Sami they can't afford her dream wedding, she insists on demanding the money from Kate, who inherited from Roman. To Philip's disgust Shawn reprimands Belle as unlovable, being guilty of his family's deaths. Brady refuses to accept the search at the crash scene was stopped and joins TEK investigating the Caribbean island - by speedboat from Key West.

Rex looses his patience when Mimi refuses to say what preoccupies her. In fact she imagined telling him the truth would make them split up, Belle later claims keeping the secret will. Patrick and Roman's parties meet, piece together their theories about a DiMera master plan and start tracing the underground power cables that Patrick discovered.

To Patrick's amusement, Billie's stolen kiss makes Hope jealous, although she assures him it was an innocent send-off. Kate surprisingly accepts Sami's plan to have Basic Black pay for her dream wedding to Lucas, who still doesn't warm to a circus.

Mimi feels guilty of child-murder but doesn't dare tell Rex, who learns she was in hospital, she killed their love child. Shawn checks out of hospital, hating Belle and determined to be alone with Jan. Brady and TEK discover stowaway Nicole. Billie tells she heard about Stefano in Paris. Tony makes Bart start the engines to generate a minor earthquake, shows him a secretly resuscitated prisoner and plans to capture the search parties too.

DiMera's men's second wave captures Patrick's whole party, which wakes up in a prison under the sea, facing a triumphant Tony on screen. Brady and wining, flirtatious Nicole sneak in the base hidden in a jeep. TEK has arrived in Newsalem, tells old Salem has move don and finds his satellite phone already countered.

Realizing the Salem PD Bozo's still don't trust him and Tony doubts him, Patrick chooses to betray their futile escape attempt despite a first electrocution. Brady does a good job sneaking closer to the base. Shawn still won't believe Belle's claim of fidelity. Doug only now discovers Tony's absence.

Bart's ranting confuses Patrick in the control room. Nicole offers Patrick a 'reward' to help her find Colin. Shawn pulls back from Jan as he can't remember having made love to her and decides to consult Belle, only to see her in bed with Philip.

Kate is confident Brandon, still in Sami's dreams, is the torpedo she needs to wreck Lucas' wedding plans, but he can only meet her in Chicago. Colin wakes up and tells the escapees how he was recruited by Stefano and Tony for the New salem plan but refused, which infuriates his only alternative dupe, Nicole. Tony has them all re-apprehended and brought before Stefano.

Rex and his own dreams make Shawn consider he may still love Belle. Jan tries to break them up by cutting Philip's uniform. Brady stops Victor strangling Nicole, even suggests their marriage may still stand some chance, but is forced to admit his feelings for the seductress. While Patrick's protestation he didn't sign on for mass murder is dismissed, the prisoners debate if their last hope is Marlena getting trough to Stefano.

When Marlena tries to talk into Stefano, the prisoners discover there's only a half-scorched 'phoenix' corps. Jack fails to make Bart defect the apparently mad Tony, who elaborates how he killed his pa for a blood transfusion and planned his ingenious revenge on unworthy, unwilling DiMera heir John for stealing Kristin. Sami's fight with Brandon's figment makes Lucas bring her to hospital. Kate meets Brandon in Chicago, pretending she doesn't need him to break up Lucas's engagement.

Philip and Shawn keep bickering, Mimi playing into Jan's hand. After a tremor knocked Brady and Victor down, as later TEK, Nicole loves kissing Brady conscious and grudgingly decides she must help, not kill, his grandpa. Brandon, whose boss Dr. stern wants him to pursue Kate's offer, and Sami can't stop thinking about each-other and need a confrontation, just as Kate hoped.

Will rushes home after spotting his dad's rival, but is too late to stop his mother being matched with Brandon. The split-up escapees desperately try to leave the island. Nicole fears jail and loosing Brady if everyone returns to Salem.

Tony reveals Patrick betrayed him, delaying the volcano eruption and enabling the others' escape. He orders loyal Bart to execute him, but has to take the gun himself. Will keeps trying to get Lucas to the Halloween benefit dance until they fetch Sami, who ignores them as she's dancing with Brandon. Tony insists on explaining that the volcano isn't just revenge but stopping Stefano and the start of world domination by control of the elements. That very control, dependent on his secured briefcase, becomes key to the escapees latest attempt to fight back.

Lucas overhears Will warning Sami and refuses to believe it's Kate's doing. The raft escapees can only speculate, ignoring the Coast guard is coming while the weather worsens. Victor refuses to give Nicole a chance with Brady.

More Cassandra warnings spread unrest, Mimi can hardly bare Rex's touch. Brandon wants closure with Sami, who now just wants him out of her life. Thanks to Patrick, the Coast Guard saves several raft groups, but Marlena and others are missing, probably dead.

Lucas is furious to find Sami has run off, probably after Brandon. In fact she just wants her ex out of her life but couldn't find him. Will insists they must fight for his mother. Lucas is resolved to dump her but ends up making out. Coast Guard captain Chavez forbids the rescued men to go and search for their missing friends. Japanese fishermen pick up Roman and Marlena, and separately Jack and Cassie, finally Victor and Caroline, locked in a second cell. Bart is aboard, willing to shoot the escapees as ordered. Brady believes Nicole's lie and she chose to spare and...

Sean announces that Jan convinced him to give up law school and live on his trust funds. They consider moving back to her mansion, she even wants a wedding date. Roman and Marlena are startled the captain of the trawler they're captives on is none other then Tony, whom they presumed dead. Jailer Bart refuses to give any information on the other raft parties. Car trouble kept Brandon in Salem, so he plans to visit Sami.

Sean gets nostalgic in his parents home that he's considering to sell. He worries about supposedly orphaned kid brother Zack and apologizes to Belle. The Coast Guard inspects the trawler, but Bart has moved the prisoners to secret compartments in time. The others return to Salem, where some things have changed. Sami wonders why Brandon is still around and discusses her situation with a common youth friend, priest Antonio who just joined the parish.

The return of the rescued Salemites and news some others may be alive too changes things back home for both groups. There's lots to catch up with or reconsider. Brandon declares a welcome back party. Suddenly something spoils it.

The rescued Salemites may be home, things aren't nearly back to normal. Brandon warns TEK to keep his distance. Sami still doubts if she wants him back. Patrick and the baby now have a home. Legally dead Maggie was minutes too late to prevent Mikey marrying maid Bonnie, so his brides bicker over everything and he can't choose.

The survivors and reunited family still try to catch up and come to terms with things, but some prove incompatible, notably 'bigamies', or unbearable. Sami is shocked Brandon is still around. Lucas nearly overhears ma Kate and Sami still plotting. Patrick is the tower of strength again. Shawn still chooses Jan, who even manages to make him leave home again already.

The objects the Coast Guards fished up, including blood-stained cloths, convince the home-front the missing people must be dead. Roman and Marlena realize the Coast Guard abandoned the search, fear Tony can keep them prisoner forever and discover they've been injected. Mikey believes he remains legally married to Bonie and separated from Maggie because of her legal death-declaration. The DiMera data disk proves amazingly detailed.

Sami cries on Brandon's shoulder just as Lucas overhears her say she can't talk to him about her 'supposedly dead' again parents. Yet both are shown great understanding, unlike Kate. Billie tells Patrick she kept his biography out of the Dimera disk she sent to the ISA HQ, but he won't keep secrets anymore.

Sami finally seems happily appreciative of Lucas. Brandon worries about her. Kate (re)introduces Billy to everyone but fails to convince her to stay in Salem. Babysitter Doug joins Zack in a food-fight. Mikey's two wives prove double trouble in ex-Tuscany too. Patrick is not amused but joins the line-dance.

Shawn is so sick of people meddling with his messed-up love-life that he even tells his dad off, yet seems ready to make up with Belle. Lucas keeps trying to reconcile people around him. Kate announces that Basic Black will pay for the wedding as she's confident will never happen. The presently happy couple invites everyone, even Brandon and Billie. In hospital a drug problem causes dreams and nightmares. A hidden file is discovered on Tony's disk.

Lucas thanks Kate for footing the honeymoon bill, but warns her that he still can't trust her. Brandon declines the invitation, questioning if it's more Freudian self-destruction. Sami fails to make Brandon go away, objects to him postponing her and Lucas's wedding and the mere suggestion of a double wedding with Philip and Belle causes another bloodthirsty rage.

Brady is back, convinced that DNA samples prove the missing New Salemites are dead. Sami scolds him then tells Lucas she wants to elope. Shawn makes bail. Mimi still sneakily risks losing Rex by successfully spurring Belle to reconsider Shawn before marrying Philip. Georgia's trace already runs to a dead end.

During an intimate shower with Nicole, Brady thinks of Chloe and says her name. He fears it's unfair to love someone less than completely, but she gets him to make love again. In Vienna, Chloe dreams of getting well and romancing her dream prince again. Brandon isn't hurt, and agrees to give Lucas a lift, as his car is broken. Lucas insist they bite the bullet by asking Brandon to be a marriage witness. Kate insist that the baby-hunt should include a dad-hunt.

Lucas, Brandon and Sami are embarrassed as the justice of the peace miss-guesses the groom and finds Brandon was never formally divorced. Tony assures Jack that there's no escape from his European mountain castle. Even now Belle is sending wedding invitation emails, Mimi argues that Philip is the wrong groom, but she ends up agreeing to be bridesmaid.

Brandon has another car accident while driving Lucas and Sami back; the car starts again but they're stuck in snow and help is hard to get. Meanwhile Brandon analyzes why she 'forgot' to sign their divorce papers. Mimi risks confronting Jan about her brainwashing, having found her PC recordings, so she's caged in the mansion herself. After Mimi's vague call Belle drives there with Shawn, but their car skids.

Brandon makes Sami admit that she put off signing the papers, hoping to get him back, but questions whether her whole life should depend on the present groom. Kate comes to rescue Lucas, and grudgingly drives to Brandon. Mimi escapes from the cage and holds Jan at gunpoint to obtain a confession. Their car-crash and fall left Belle unconscious, Shawn worried after pulling her from the icy river. Doug joins the speculations about the couples - implications of the Georgia chase.

Brandon finally admits he still loves Sami. Just before they are about to kiss, Lucas arrives. Mimi and Jan continuously fighting over the gun and the truth. The mysterious syringe man at the hospital is non other then TEK, who isn't caught.

Ptarick proves the perfect substitute father and Christmas decorator. Mimi finally gets the friends in Jan's secret room, but is has been transformed into a seasonal winter wonderland, which sets Rex in a romantic family mood. However a lamp rekindles Shawn's memory of his incarceration. While Victor contemplates escape, Caroline's perfume attracts the Georgia-chasers, posing as castle guards. The real ones catch them and throw them into a deep dungeon.

Even mistletoe can't make Brady kiss Nicole again. It's as if he senses Chloe's alive (in fact flying back). Despite Shawn's memory flashback, Jan's lavish Christmas/wedding gifts are accepted, only Belle refuses a motorbike for Shawn after his accident. Rex finds a small cage part. All Salem flocks to the Christmas traditions. It's fine for the children at the Memorial hospital, but a gloomy edition for adults even before the mystery man will deliver his document. A megalomaniac new ornament nearly knocks down the Horton clan tree. Nancy is spotted in mass, Chloe keeps hidden but can't tear herself away from Brady, who notices a female figure fleeing.

Rex establishes the mysterious message from Georgia is probably no DiMera trick, it may be authentic. Lucas finds that his bride manages to turn Christmas wishes and presents into more absurd aggravation. The mysterious papers are delivered to Philip. It's his specials forces orders, and they're disastrous. Shawn seeks comfort in Jan's most willing arms.

Patrick warns Billie she might be better off not chasing Georgia to disturb her adopted life. He offers to accompany her as it can still be a DiMera set-up. The 'psychic medium' follows Kate's instructions. Shawn starts realizing how much he misses Belle.

Patrick's announcement he's joining Billie on the Georgia chase arouses violently opposed emotions, but flight conditions delay the plan. Planner Kate prepares Philip's wedding perfectly- except the people emotionally. Nagging bridesmaid Mimi convinces Belle to call Shawn a last time, but Jan manages to delete the message and drug him again.

Rex realizes Philip's wedding gibbers are worse: Shawn-syndrome. Kate succeeds to stop Shawn's phone message from reaching Belle. Jan is found out trying to wipe the answering machine before Shawn passes out, drugged, into a break-up nightmare, and wakes up again.
