Eleven new celebrities are paired with professional dancers and perform either the Cha Cha or the Viennese Waltz for their first dance.

The eleven couples perform either the Jive or the Foxtrot, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores over the past two weeks and the viewer votes, is eliminated.

The ten remaining couples dance to songs the celebrities have chosen because they sum up a special moment in their lives, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and viewer votes, is eliminated.

The nine remaining couples dance to Australian songs, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and viewer votes, is eliminated.

Things take a dramatic turn when, in a first for the Australian series, one couple is forced to pull out due to emergency surgery. The seven remaining couples dance to smash hits from Broadway.

The seven couples dance to songs from blockbuster Hollywood movies, and dance a Jive, Swing and Twist marathon inspired by Pulp Fiction (1994) in group formation for a maximum of 10 bonus points, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and viewer votes of the past two weeks, is eliminated.

The six remaining couples perform a dance that they have not previously performed and dance a team Cha-Cha in which the males compete against the females for bonus points added to the scores of each person in the team, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and the viewer votes, is eliminated.

The five remaining couples perform a dance that they have not previously performed and an instant dance that they only learn about on the night, which is worth double points, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and viewer votes, is eliminated.

The four remaining couples perform the Argentine Tango and a dance that they have not previously performed, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and viewer votes, is eliminated.

The three remaining couples perform a "redemption" dance chosen by the judges to different music, and a Cha-Cha face-off in which each couple will be on their own under the spotlight for 30 seconds, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and viewer votes, is eliminated. The final two couples perform a freestyle dance, then the couple with the higher combined score is announced as the winner.
