A girl student gets shot in broad daylight. Investigations about her background show that she had an amorous stalker, but his alibi for the time of the murder is solid. Witse doesn't know which way to go, until the culprit makes contact with him and gives him all sorts of hints to challenge the police. Witse and his team don't seem to be able to track him down...

A schoolboy becomes the victim of 'steamen'. Later the boy, who threatened him, is found dead. A tough case for Witse, especially when it appears that the father of the schoolboy was in the neighbourhood where the body had been found. The older brother of the dead boy, a known offender, makes the case even worse.

A hostage situation: two gangsters, who robbed a pension cash, hide in a house with a single divorced woman with her little son. Witse acts against Wijtinckx orders. Saying he is a doctor, he enters the house. One of the gangsters, Sammy, is very aggressive and dangerous. Witse tries to set up the two gangsters against each other and get the hostages free that way.

During a training session, the star of the local bicycle team falls dead to the ground. It appears that he has a very high amount of dope in his blood. What is stranger, he never swallowed anything. Witse and his new partner, Billy Redant, have to investigate the case. Soon it shows that the victim didn't have a clean slate, he also had a heavy influence on his teammates. He was dealing, went with the girlfriend of another teammate... The investigation is troubled, because of Witse's hostile relation with Billy, who is not a suitable successor for Dimi.

An actor shoots himself through the head during a stage performance with an amateur dramatics society. It looks like suicide, but Witse soon discovers a list of enemies. At the amateur dramatic society and at the clinic of which he was the head physician. Billy and Wijtinckx want to put an end to case as soon as possible, but Witse doesn't believe in suicide. In the meantime the relation between Witse and Annemie is going downhill fast. She considers an assignment in Bolivia. Billy makes a blunder during an investigation and gets fired. Annemie leaves for Bolivia and ...

Walter, a mentally handicapped boy, sees a murder being committed in Julie's house. Walter is put to work at Julie's fitness centre and has an eye on her. Sam believes Walter immediately. The washed out Witse doesn't care about anything anymore. Julie plays the innocent, but soon it turns out that her ex-lover, a teacher from the centre, is missing. And also her husband has gone missing. His burnt out car is found in Luxembourg. In the meantime Walter changes his story after a seduction attempt from Julie.

A pyromaniac infests Halle. The damage is considerable, but nobody died. Until one night a ship with scrap is burnt out. The owner is found dead in the remains. The man turned out to be a tyrant for his wife, two sons and daughter in law. The eldest son is a lot like his father. The youngest is introvert and can't handle stress very well. And then it comes to light that the victim didn't die in the flames. His head was smashed in first.

Within a short time after each other, two men are found dead. They were killed in a similar way: tied up, half naked, suffocated. The trails that lead to a family feud and the SM-world are put aside quickly when it turns out that the two men and a third man worked together as professional soldiers in the same platoon. The one who survived is clearly terrified, but refuses to tell what is going on.

There are plastic bags found in the canal. They contain the body parts of a Philippine woman. Her husband, a sad old man is heart broken. Investigations show that the dead woman was far from being a model housewife. She very quickly left her husband after he brought her to Belgium. She found work as a chambermaid in a big hotel. There she earned extra money as a prostitute.

Witse gets a message that a woman wants to talk to him on her deathbed. It's Alice. Witse arrested her husband some time ago for murder on a prostitute. Alice was the one who brought down his alibi. Now she tells Witse that she lied and that her husband had been at home at the time of the murder. She asks Witse to take a letter to her husband. After that she will officially confess to everything. When Witse comes back to the hospital, Alice has died.

A real estate broker is shot down in the house of a known swindler. Sam knows the victim from the time she went to high school. His wife is inconsolable. Sam also knows the doctor of the couple. He was her husband's best friend. The swindler becomes the prime suspect, but they soon discover two different foot tracks leaving the house.

A man dies after eating a little jar of yoghurt, which has been poisoned with cyan potassium. Not much later a child dies at a school by a similar accident. Both jars come from the Supri-supermarket. Witse and his team do everything to get the perpetrator. It's strange though, that they don't get a ransom demand. In the meantime there is a serious threat that the people in Halle might panic. And that is something that the police want to avoid at all cost.

Finally there are two consecutive demands for money. But the two blackmailers get killed and Wijtinckx thinks the case is solved. But Witse thinks that the real brain behind it all is still active and he keeps searching on.
