Mark is miserable, having caught small pocks, and furious to find his savings for a synthesizer missing. He accuses Dede, who finds Paulien got mother to help her advance the 40,000 Belgian francs (pre-Euro) for the second hand car he just bought from Freek, but taking it for a spin, they discover the wreck shines is a useless rust bucket. Dede is desperate for a job, showing his swimming and first aid certificates to apply as lifeguard, but Freek prefers hiring a foxy girl, offering a cleaner job instead. Kitti warns Paulien against the dinner deal, but Dede is delighted she wants to do it to help him. Melissa gives Freek another pedicure and advise to take Dede on free trial basis.

Mark is getting nervous with impeding assignments, paranoid about interviewing Betty Joy, hence lashes out at patronizing Paulien and Dede, who insists he needs to draw B&W but seek inspiration in bloody horror movies. Ben starts his lifeguard trial week, and instantly outshines Dede by no-nonsense honest work and natural charm, which gives Kittie the first crush in her life. .Fan Mark was about to choke in a peanut, but Bne's impeccable first aid saves the cute kid's life.

Ben keeps delighting his first fan Mark after the gift of a HD t-shirt by treating him to a ride. Kittie obviously has a less innocent crush on the hunk, who spars mythological warnings with Freek, who even seeks his romantic advice. Mother warns Paulien against unsuitable Deedee but still sends her to the doctor for a checkup and the pill. Melissa tries her own methods to goad Freek and Paulien.

Mark firmly resists Paulien's low bribery or threats to make him fake drowning so Dede can save him and win the lifeguard job, but when he reports so to Kittie, she promises to fix everything if he plays along, then calls her socialite friend jean-Christophe. The siblings make up as Mark agrees if she helps him calm down mother about an excessive chatline phone bill. On the last lifeguard test day, when Freek will decide, team Dede's rehearsal is a bad joke, while Kitty cues J-C brilliantly. Dede only gets a last chance to lifeguard thanks to too-fair Ben insisting they should do everything jointly this time. Mark plays his drowning part properly, but Dede only has eyes fro flirtatious J-C working to steal a kiss from old schoolmate Paulien. Mark wisely ignores Paulien's absurd ranting and hysterically blaming him for Dede's loss. Ben does a fine job his first day as lifeguard, yet Freek is over-critical, as if jealous of attention from Kitie, and Dede pushes him in the pool. Although father Julien doesn't care, Melissa extorts most of Dede's paycheck as board.

Freek is organizing a Tarzan party in the pool, expecting Ben and Dede to put in extra hours for free, while Kittie inspires him about sponsoring and flirts on with Ben, who talks little about his past and future, even to Mark. As Paulien insanely insults 'spoiled rich' Kittie, she tells Freek about Dede's debts and arranges for Freek to reserve much of his salary for her. Mark tries to console Ben, who faces costly repairs at his Harley, and shouts at pizza at home. Paulien declines, moping but mother has had enough and insists she must concentrate on exams and making up with Kittie, Dede is a bad influence. Still she grimly declines every attempt from Kittie, who meanwhile feels annoyed by Freek, who keeps going one about the stalker danger, declares his love.'among people of class' and offers to protect her. Ben has cooled down enough to make up with Dede, who denies the vandalism, commiserating over the Tarzan party preparations, as Freek even makes them wear little more then gray shorts. Mark has stage fright but proudly shows his Harley Tarzan outfit to Kittie and alleviated her stalker fright by volunteering himself and Ben as bodyguards. Melissa gets Freek to giver her, not Kitie, the cash held back from Dede's pay, while styling unwilling Paulien for Julien's fancy business dinner, which makes her too nervous to frolic with Dede, invoking exams and tummy ache.

The Tarzan party is a blast, especially Mark's act 'Harley and the Davidsonettes'. Freek keeps playing on Kities' fear for the stalker. Ben isn't amused to find Melissa near his Harley and stealing a kiss, but lets her keep a picture of him in Tarzan shorts despite refusing to consider a modeling career. Mark is crowned Tarzan but gets drunk and bumbles as Dede keeps pushing him to act 'confidently a s a real man' when girls swarm around him, risky business. MC Freek quizzes the Jane candidates, finding most just stupid (one refers for everything to her boyfriend, another to previous miss titles) except arrogant Melissa, who ends second, and Kittie, who wins as he wanted, yet she only has eyes from Ben, who still doesn't tell about his past or love but promises 'later' and 'may grow'. Mark suffers his first hangover, but also Paulien, who is duly scolded by mother, who even threatens not to take them along to see father in Marseille port, feeling the couple needs time to discuss the stress of living apart, almost single parenting. Freek has no more patience with Dede. Ben earns well repairing the toaster at Melissa's, but still won't have a bar of her schemes to get rich, Dede scolds her a thief for proposing to share the sale of the heirloom ring she had Paulien return. Mark's pizza home dinner wins over mother, but Pauliens' badly started exams ...

Ben drops by at Kittie's place, to make up after her curiosity ended rendering him hard-handed for a minute, and soon wins her over again. Mar wears a weird costume to recognize his chat line mate Jonathan, catching on over time that's an alias adopted by the even younger girl Fran, a cheeky mini-bitch, even towards Freek, who demands Paulien 'buys' the next exam questions after such pulled her through maths, only being penniless in romantic kind. Melissa claims rewards for taking on sick mother's role, yet Dede keeps loyal to the latter and already gave the heirloom ...

Ben treats Kittie to a pizza dinner and a fairy-tale parody of his youth and disappeared first love, Helene, not amused she keeps pressing for more. Dede waves Mark's plea to help Paulien make up with Kittie. Melissa looks down on slapped Freek's crude method to exact kisses for exam questions from Paulien, boasting her patient approach yields gold from her badly married plastic surgeon employer. Mark is pleasantly surprised by Fran's musical talent and invited to visit her 'indescribable' home.

Ben came to Kittie's bedroom to get physical, but is put off again by her relentless pushing about Helena. Mark and Fran's grandpa enjoy getting acquainted at their cool home, a movie theater, Mark even sympathizes with gramps' balloon flying dream. Freek blackmails Paulien into nude swimming after closing time, and arranged for Dede to find her naked, who storms off refusing to see the unfaithful bitch ever again.

Ben and mates don't believe Freek's story why Paulien went missing 'after finally falling for him', Mark and Fran appease mother they must wait for the police. Dede also left his job after too much taunting from Freek, whose necktie he cut under threats. Melissa delights father with hooks in a surgeon to pluck, but implicitly exacts a silence bribe about Paulien, whose exit she planned with Freek. Fran's grandpa prepares a balloon flight as PR stunt for the singer Mark still has to interview as school assignment.

Freek wonders if Kittie bluffs when she threatens to have his director fire him unless Paulien is found soon, Mark also threatens Freek, feeling 'guilty' as his meddling, bossy big sister 'always cares for him'. The vixen actually hides at Fran's grandpa's place and sends a video home to assure she's safe and didn't cheat on Dede. Fran is delighted to find grandpa landed a PR balloon gig for Betty Joy, whom Mark still has to interview.

Freek is forced by his director to offer Dede compensation, but the lout makes absurd demands and refuses his job back. Ben now believes that Dede jealously wrote anonymous threats but didn't vandalize the Harley Davidson. Mark has fun with Fran and especially her coll grandpa, but hasn't properly prepared his impending interview with Betty Joy. Paulien returns and makes up with Kittie, who insists an aristocrat like her can't escape family obligations, for life. Melissa prepares a 'healthy', tasteless dinner for her surgeon George to stimulate his generosity.

Ben spends time with Kittie but tells her a marriage is out of the question, while Paulien surprisingly finds father the baron van Kalken de Colines surprisingly reasonable about dating a commoner. Mark gets to interview Betty Joy after grandpa's cherry soup gets her in a good mood. Freek sneakily helps Melissa convince dinner guest George she's abused by her father so he offers to finance setting up her own beautician firm.

Mark conducts his interview and becomes a fan of Betty Joy. Ben taunts the knave may have to chose between the star and 'other amazing woman' Fran, while firmly refusing to 'help Kittie avoid an arranged marriage' but wedding her or taking her in, confirming he can't get over Helena. Dede and Paulien grudgingly promise to pay Mark and two friends a fancy dinner if he helps them prove Julien's sleaze side. Freek is impressed how black widow Melissa plans to suck white knight surgeon George dry.

Ben does another home appliance repair for Melissa, and ignores her romantic move, while Paulien who made up with Kittie tries to encourage her Ben may just need time, while waving Freek's insinuations, Ben or d-Dede must commit the thefts wave since their employment. Inspired by Betty Joy taking a break as grandpa's guest, Mark gets his mother's permission to stay with him and Fran while she's with his father in Marseille. Freek's theory that either Ben or Dede must be the pool thief is unbelievable to reconciled Kittie and Paulien, although each lover is in need of cash. Melissa feels confident she'll soon get control of mothers' valuable real estate and earn a fortune from generous admirer George, who showers her with flowers. Grandpa plays a flower salesman to deliver in the restaurant the miniature camera Mark and spy covers girls forgot, to record how Julien gets Paulien drunk and manages to drag her to a hotel, but Fran manages to pull her away.

Dede as arrested and jailed after the police finds a box in his bedroom, full of items reported stolen from the pool. Mark plays a trick on absurdly critical Paulien, pretending his grades aren't good, in fact brilliant, so mother celebrates they both passed before taking the train to Marseille and dropping Mark off at grandpa's. There plans are made for a party paid by entrance fees, not booze, with a Betty Joy featuring Mark performance. Kittie threatens Freek to tell the police Dede's arrest was based on a misunderstanding 'or else"'.

Ben grimly works on his Harley and warns Freek, whoever wrecked it will face consequences. Melissa is furious that Freeks withdrew his complaint -which Ben implies had to be false- against Dede, but he promises to set that straight. Grandpa rebukes Fran's rude refusal to even got o the swimming pool with Mark, recalling how her parents drowned.

Ben is shocked when Kittie shows him the latest stalker letters, which suggest it's the Harley vandal, apparently jealous. Dede tries to catch him hidden in her locker, but falls asleep. Melissa cruelly toys with Freek, calling him a romantic looser with bad breath, while exploiting Dede's blackmail on pa as 'Paulien's violator on picture' to extract 'alimony' for herself ('for Dede') as well as mother. His bunch enjoys the party preparations, Fran's story telling yields well, so she plans to do it in the pool, but without Mark, where Freek grants permission, Melissa tells him her plans to bleed George dry for her beauty salon plans, while cheating on Dede and father, and tells Freek he won't score girls with his bad breath, after he made Mark present him to Betty Joy. While Ben and Kittie wonder about the vandal-stalker, he's startled to face his long-lost Helena.

Ben can hardly believe how much Fran resembles his lost Helena, physically and her frank, blunt, spontaneous attitude.
