Valerie objects to David dating a 24-year old woman.

Valerie is shocked at David when he won't introduce his new girlfriend to his friends.

Valerie has reservations about the influence Michael's old Army buddy, Skip, has on the family when he comes for a visit. That concern is well founded when Willie starts using profanity around the house and at school.

Frustrated that he's left out of activities and conversations about sports, Mark tries to change his brainy image by trying out for the school wrestling team.

Not only do Willie's erratic study habits cause him to fail science, but his brainy brother Mark makes him look even worse.

The family engages in a dogfight over Murray after the vet suggests the old dog be put to sleep.

When Michael's schedule has him flying to Europe on their anniversary, Valerie patiently waits for his traditional phone call to celebrate, and the boys attempt to cheer her up while their father is away.

David needs a job to earn some spending money, but Valerie panics after Bruno gives him a part-time job at the antique shop she manages. Meanwhile, Willie manages Mark's campaign for student council.

The flu bug hits the Hogan household, throwing David's big date with 'Robin Bloodsaw' into jeopardy.

Valerie accepts a promotion to a full-time job at the auction house, leaving her less time at home, so the boys have to try and contribute more around the house.
