A middle school boy Ushio Aotsuki lives with his father Shigure. Sigure works as the chief priest of a Buddhist temple. One day, Ushio finds a spear with a yôkai which looks like a big tiger, at the basement of his storehouse. The yôkai wants him to pull the spear out of its body.

Ushio and Tora started watching for a chance to be after their life each other. Meanwhile Ushio's schoolmates were attacked by a warrior statue in his school.

Ushio gets to know his favorite painter's daughter Reiko. He wants to draw her portrait, but he finds some people died suddenly after they got involved with her.

Ushio has a doubt that Tora is evil man-eater when he heard a news that many staff were slaughtered at the construction site. He blames Tora too much without the evidence that's why Tora leaves Ushio's house.

A male exorcist Hyou have been searching for a yôkai which like a big tiger for a long while, because of the revenge for his family's death. He gets a information about Tora on the news in Hong Kong, and then he heads out to Japan.

Ushio and his friends go to the sea for the summer vacation. Meanwhile a yôkai asks Tora for help.

Ushio heard about his mother from Umi-zatô, so he demands an explanation from Sigure. Meanwhile, some Buddhist monks strongly disapprove of Ushio as the owner of the Beast Spear, they attack him and Tora.

Ushio with Tora takes a trip to Hokkaido to make a search for his mother's information. He gets to know a middle school girl Yû, and a fighter pilot in JSDF Atsuzawa, inside of the airplane. But the plane was targeted by a flying yôkai Fusuma.

Ushio and Tora arrived in Sendai-city, however, Ushio finds he has lost his wallet. Then, Yôkai siblings Raishin and Kagari ask them for help.

Ushio and Tora get to know a girl Saya at Touno. Her family has forced her to take care of Omamori-sama, because Omamori-sama is also known as Zashiki-Warashi and it's said "The clan will fall from power if Zashiki-Warashi leaves their house".

Ushio predicts that Asako will scream with fear by the reflection in the water when he visits Raishin and Kagari. Meanwhile, Mayuko invites Asako to her house.

Ushio and Tora get separated because they were under assault from many yôkais during the journey. Ushio comes across a friendly yôkai Kappa that heals him, and gives a information about his ultimate enemy Hakumen.

Ushio has run from many yôkais in a foggy forest by himself. And then, he hears a voice that tell him to get inside a mansion where appeared at the front of him suddenly.

Ushio and Tora arrive together in Hokkaido. Hakumen's minions Hiyou pursue them. Meanwhile, the four successors to the Beast Spear that Kôhamei sect had chosen run after Ushio to put to the test whether he is right for the Beast Spear or not.

Ushio and Tora got on a public bus which is out of control due to Hiyou. One of successors Nagare gives assistance to them to save the passengers.

One of successors Satoru, his body and soul are undermined by Hiyou. Ushio and Tora try to save him for his sister Jun.

Ushio saved Satoru at great cost. Ushio turns into a beast, and it heads straight to Kamuikotan.

Five girls Ushio has saved before, his father Sigure with Kôhamei sect, his cooperators and Tora were gathered in Kamuikotan by the spirit guardian Jie Mei. They try to turn Ushio back to normal. However, deciding that is a prime opportunity to exterminate its all enemies, Hakumen sends a lot of Hiyou to launch a raid against them.

Ushio comes to his senses. With the help of Jie Mei and a yôkai Tokisaka, he and Tora go back in time when the Beast Spear someone had wrought.

Ushio faced off against Hakumen for the first time without the Beast Spear in ancient city of China, but he didn't know what to do with great fear. Tora was also overwhelmed by Hakumen's massive power. It was all they could do to save a blacksmith Giryou and his sister Jie Mei.

The crisis was over for the moment, Ushio goes back to Tokyo with Tora. He gets to know a mysterious boy Kirio, the meeting brings him back to his extraordinary life again.

Ushio tortures himself by deep grief. Tora encourages him with its style to make greater efforts. Kirio incites some monks in Kôhamei sect to try to take the Beast Spear from Ushio with violence.

Ushio, Tora, Nagare, and Hinowa went to a mansion where Kirio was born. There are a lot of traps in the house, Nagare and Hinowa are caught the trap to defend Ushio. And then, Ushio and Tora find a person who manipulated Kirio from behind.

Mayuko is about to go to a banquet when Tora visits Mayuko. Tora feels a sign of yôkai from her invitation letter that's why Tora follows her.

Ushio, Tora, and Asako are abducted from the HAMMR Institute. Asako finds that this organization has kept many yôkais in captivity for their study.

Hakumen's tissue starts acting violently in HAMMR's laboratory. It includes a friendly yôkai Baldeners, then Ushio and Tora, how will they fight against that?
