After Grace invites herself over to Hannah's for a sleepover, Hannah finds herself jealous when Grace finds connects with the Rayburns in ways Hannah never has.

Hannah gets a glimpse into Grace's glamorous life when her mother, blows back into town and invites the Rayburns to a cocktail party. Grace is hopeful that she'll get to move out of her dorm at The Pines and move back home with her mother.

Grace and Hannah skip school to capture the perfect day. Evelyn and David struggle to keep the factory running when a nasty flu takes down their workers. Meanwhile, Ida has a date for the first time in 15 years.

Grace's new skateboard lands her in trouble. Hannah writes a letter to Grace's half-brother, Walker. The Rayburns have a house guest, Evelyn's brother, Larry.

Tattie struggles with her age, while Evelyn struggles with her weight. Each woman's reactions has it's effect on their daughters. Tattie's mother, Kiki pays a visit.

Hannah is wracked with guilt when she steals a sweater from a store. Evelyn and David are tasked with hiring a new foreman for their factory. Tattie can't help but listen in when the phone lines get crossed.

The Rayburns move to North Carolina, where Hannah feels like a fish out of water at the Catholic school she's attending --even though she's Jewish. She meets Grace, and her life is changed forever.

When Tattie signs Grace up for Junior Cotillion, Hannah wants to take it with her. Unfortunately, Hannah gets partnered with a boy she considers a geek. Meanwhile, Evelyn joins Shirley's book club.

When The Pines announces a new uniform requirement, Grace goes into hibernation while Hannah stages a protest. Evelyn introduces David to the beanbag chair.

Hannah and Grace are worried about their mothers when Evelyn is sick and Tattie announces that Nigel will be taking her on an African safari.

Evelyn and David take a tango class while Tattie is interviewed by a society magazine. Grace's half-brother, Walker, pays a visit during term break from school.

When Hannah invites her father to the school's pancake breakfast, she gets hopeful that he'll make good on his promise and show up. Tattie finds herself a new suitor, and it may be serious.
