Six months later, Adam is physically healed, but has a growing suspicion that the medication he is being given for his headaches, is actually preventing him from making mental progress. When Adam discovers his father deliberately kept Christa away from him, he stops taking the medication, causing the return of a shocking memory.

From Yvette's reclusive grandmother Adam finds out his father lied to him about the night of the accident. Adam is suffering from withdrawal symptoms and seeks help from the town doctor. Soon after Adam starts hallucinating and the people of the town become convinced that Adam has brain damage. Adam confronts one of the only remaining members of the witches club, who is reluctant to talk, clearly fearing for her life, but under duress reveals what happened at the hunters' lodge.

Adam is in a rage, determined to find out who the perpetrators were. Christa fears for the consequences, but when Adam challenges the hunters, the outcome is not what Adam had anticipated. Adam digs deeper and discovers what happened to Bettie and is disturbed to realise there was more than one crime, and a conspiracy of silence. Then friend Leo gets a report back from the PI they hired, which throws the entire case on its head.

A confrontation with one of the suspects leads to the discovery that the conspirators were being blackmailed. Adam is obsessed with tracking down the missing girl, and Christa, fearing for Adam's sanity, calls his father in for help. When Frans turns up, Adam has not slept or eaten for days. Frans gets Christa's cooperation to stage a radical intervention.

A young woman has come to seek refuge at the only place she is sure she will be safe. She begins to confess all that she was part of three years ago. Meanwhile Adam has a flood of memories. The jigsaw puzzle falls into place. He has no choice but to act on his knowledge.

Adam relives the fateful events of the past, while the conspirators prepare to eliminate the witnesses. The young woman has conclusive evidence, but to retrieve it from where it was hidden more than three years ago, she will have to risk her life. Adam gets summoned to the dam near the site of the accident and Christa warns him: he must choose, the ghosts of the past, or a future with her.

Eighteen months after a car accident put him in a coma, Adam Prinsloo wakes up, not able to remember anything that happened on that day. Love blossoms between patient and physiotherapist, Christa Viljoen, who tries to help him regain his past, but it soon becomes clear that there are those close to Adam who don't want him to ever remember.
