Liz learns a little bit about psychiatry and George discovers that's a dangerous thing. She begins analyzing every aspect of their marriage, finding problems where there are none.

Liz wants husband George to be more helpful around the house. She purchases a do it yourself book hoping that will turn George into a capable handyman.

Liz is surprised when George tells friends she doesn't care for mink. Liz does want one however and plans on buying a mink from the household budget. The cost cutting measures make the Cooper's life unpleasant.

George figures after a tough time at work he deserves a restful day in bed. But despite her best intentions Liz and other interruptions have George wondering if being at the bank might have been more relaxing.

George is out of town on business for a few days and Liz is concerned about being lonely. She agrees to watch Flora, a teenage relative, deciding to host a party that has curious moments.

To impress some friends Liz invents an uncle who's lead an exciting life. Even George can't get enough of the tall tales and his wife enjoys the attention until the deception catches up to her.

Liz and George have a serious argument. Liz heads home to her mother's to give her version of the problem. The golf course is where George goes to find a sympathetic ear from his pal Gilly.

Liz feels that George's job as a banker has changed him and not for the better. On learning he turned down a loan request unfeelingly, she's determined that George remains compassionate and tries to mold him so.

Liz's lobbying for a car of her own has paid off when George agrees. The couple head to the car dealer where the salesman steers Liz to a sleek foreign model. George favors a trusty used sedan.

Liz is pleased when George surprises her with a new hat and a lovely gown. But the pleasure soon evaporates when Liz wonders if the gifts are a result of her husband's feeling guilty about something.

Liz feels she has lost her personal identity as she becomes more associated as George Cooper's wife. Liz tries out different ideas to regain her sense of self.

The men in the neighborhood are devoted to their weekly poker game to the exclusion of all else. Liz and the other wives are feeling neglected and scheme to change the situation.

George's dear aunt is coming for a visit and Liz is determined to make a good impression. But when the relative arrives Liz puts the wrong foot forward every time.

Liz and George set sail Hawaii looking forward to a blissful experience. But the couple get entangled in the ups and downs of their shipmates romances leading to a stressful time.

The Coopers arrive in Hawaii and George goes native, embracing the laid back lifestyle. Joan is less able to relax and begins to worry that she won't be able to get George to return to his job.

George asks to go duck hunting with the guys and Liz gives her okay. She learns the other wives get bribed for giving their permission which makes Liz rethink her easy going nature.

Liz is picked to be the lady most desired to be stranded with by the other husbands. Liz is flattered but the other wives are jealous and George wishes his wife looked a little less stunning.

George is offered a promotion at work and Liz is excited for him. George is unsure about taking the position as he feels it would lead to more time at his desk.

Liz and Myra decline when their husbands ask them on a fishing trip. The two women change their minds when informed that a lovely young lady is joining the men on the outing.

Liz has a birthday coming up and she anticipates George making a big deal along with a lovely present. She isn't prepared for the thoughtlessness of husbands.

Liz's old acquaintance is always bragging about her social status and informs Luz she's coming for a visit. In a panic Liz hires servants and invites a local celebrity to dinner despite George's protests.

Friends of Liz find her husband George terribly attractive and tell her so. Liz isn't thrilled with the information and convinces George to look a little less presentable among their group.

George is tired of Liz carrying on about the handsome guy she dated before marrying him. When the man drops by for a visit the Coopers are in for a surprise.
