Shorty takes time to get himself ready for a night out with his girlfriend, choosing a table at a restaurant proves to be as tricky as ordering food, and his brother spoils the moment by turning up with a drunken friend.

Shorty tries to do something a bit special for his mum on Mother's Day, Randolph isn't too happy about the idea of a family day out in Brighton, and a girl on the train finds herself getting close to both of the brothers.

Shorty's date with Kath goes awry.

Shorty has a disastrous first meeting with Kath's parents when he embarks on an impromptu visit.

Shorty confesses his love for Kath to his family, but at the pub Kath confesses her love for Randy.

Kath uses Shorty to get close to Randy once again, although his brother tries to avoid her advances.

Called out to Kath's church to undertake and electrical repair, Shorty see's this as a sign from God and contemplates proposing to her.

Kath and her family are invited over to Shorty's for Sunday lunch so he can make a wedding announcement, but things don't go as planned.

Kath was spending the day with the Mepsteads. Kath and Mrs Mepstead end up in the launderette, where the machines malfunction. Kath goes to get Bernard for help, while Bernard is out the room she kisses Randy, and accidentally Bernard knocks her senseless with the door. Later, back in the launderette, the kiss gets mentioned, Bernard loses his temper and ends up flooding the place, a sack of detergent is caught in the flood. Masses of bubbles ensue. Bernard and Randy are arguing, the door bursts and everyone tumbles into the street.

A night at the pub creates some unexpected love triangles after Shorty and Kath get stuck in a lift together.

Kath is pregnant to Randy, but Mrs Mepstead convinces her that her the most reliable long-term option is now to marry Shorty, but she'll have act fast to make everyone think he's the father.

Kath is looking to be intimate with Shorty to hide her pregnancy but their trip to Bournemouth only gets as far as a farmhouse on Salisbury Plain, where the after dark Shenanigans do not quite go to plan.

The wedding day is fast approaching and Shorty is a bag of nerves. Will Kath go through with it?
