Aspiring songwriter Frank convinces his Uncle Dave to let him to manage The Pit. This news comes as a surprise to his ex Annie, and the building's superintendent Mack. Jan and Chris move in. Nathan quits his courier job.

Frank lies to Teena. Janet gives Mack a babysitting job before he can explain his past problems with addiction.

Nathan has a spree with the Pitters' food and rent money.

Jan panics when she learns that Chris has run away.

Tensions mount when the lack of privacy in Mack and Frank's apartment becomes apparent, and Teena delivers an ultimatum.

After Stuart gives computer lessons to Annie, he finds himself listening to her relationship problems.

Mack's old friend visits and takes him out for a night on the town. Marsha decides to quit smoking. Frank tries to reconnect with Teena.

After Nathan is attacked in a dark parking lot, Marsha goes on a crusade to find the people involved. Frank and Annie get a job modelling for a drawing class.

Ernie and Lucille decide to have a baby. Jan gets a rare night out, and asks Mack to babysit.

Frank is suspicious when Wade's band signs a contract. Jan has distractions at home while preparing to write the LSAT exam.

Teena wants back in just as Frank and Annie decide to try again. Mack takes Jan on a trip to the neighbourhood where he grew up.

Stuart proposes a plan to avoid deportation to the US. Frank deals with a plumbing problem, and attempts to re-establish his relationship with Annie.

Annie gets cold feet about Stuart's plan to avoid deportation.
