Harry and his team run a University project looking into novel ways of communicating with aliens. Or, more accurately, they don't. In fact, they don't so anything. And they do that very well. That is, until they are down to their last £3.75. Something has to happen. They need more money, and fast. And that's before Bernard sends a dummy to inform them of his drastic plans for their office, ones that don't include them.

It's a week on, and much to their surprise, the team haven't been kicked out of their office. However, when, by chance of a self-inflicted power-cut, they discover the windows have been boarded up, Harry sets off to find out what it's all about.

After Nina tells the team that there's no funding for them to build the rocket silo, they decide to try and make money any way they can.

After the delivery woman gets a nasty surprise, the team discover there's a carbon monoxide leak in the building. After Bernard admits that it's caused by the rocket generators, Harry claims the contents of Nina's latest parcel for himself... a mysterious black box...

After filling in for Harry, Nina is keen to move into the team. Meanwhile, Laura has made John a mysterious, and possibly broken, detecting device. After John returns later, Laura presents the modified microwave, and claims it can do the one thing they can't... contact alien life...

Locked in Harry's office, the team, Bernard and Nina can only sit and wait until the clock strikes 10:15pm.
