Katsura hides Yorozuya in the underground town of Akiba, where they meet Imai Nobume. Nobume reveals a shocking truth about the connection between their teacher Shoyo and Utsuro.

Kagura leaves for her home planet Rakuyou along with Kihetai without telling Gintoki and Shinpachi and leaves a leave letter at their home. Sakamoto saves Bansai and groups together with Katsura and Gintoki-Shinpachi-Sadaharu, thus forming the Yorozuya-Joui-Kihetai alliance. The group together leaves for Rakuyou planet in order to catch up with Kagura and save their friend Takasugi.

The alliance arrives at Rakuyou planet and starts their search for Takasugi and Kagura. But they are led into an ambush by Harusame space pirates. Meanwhile the attack also starts on Kagura-Kihetai and Takasugi-Yato groups by the Harusame. This leads to an intense warfare on Rakuyou planet.

While the warfare is going on, Katsura tells his comrades, along with Elizabeth to move along while he embraces a fierce fight with Neptune Shoukaku, the leader of 4th division of Harusame and one of the three mad stars.Meanwhile, an unexpected virus enters inside Sakamoto's ship and start's infecting his people. Will both emerge victorious or be defeated?

Sakamoto, along with Mutsu and Shogun find out that the virus is a nano virus spread by Uranus Hankai, the leader and only member of 3rd division of Harusame and the second of the three mad stars. The three of them and confront him in an intense battle. Meanwhile, Gintoki faces of with the third mad star, Pluto Batou.

Gintoki is able to defeat Pluto by instinct and strength. Meanwhile the platoon carrying Takasugi falls under attack. As a result the 3 remaining Joui rebels try to reunite inorder to protect him.

As Takasugi finally awakens and the 4 rebels unite together just like old times, the Harusame immediately start a large-scale offensive on the rebels. Meanwhile, Kamui appears and starts fighting with his father Umibozu, which is interrupted by Kagura, his daughter. Also, Gintoki and Shinpachi along with Sadaharu move away from the battlefield in order to find and group with her.

The past of Kagura's father, Umibozu and his meeting with her mother Kouka is revealed.

Kamui, seeing his mother suffer, decides to take her home back to her home planet. His earnest desire grows twisted in time. Meanwhile, the battle between Umibouzu and Utsuro reaches its conclusion, where both are gravely injured and Utsuro leaves the battlefield, with Umibouzu lying on the ground. By that time, Kamui reaches there and tries to fight Umibouzu in front of Kagura and Abuto. Will he kill Umibouzu, his own father?

Kamui tries to put an end to his father's life. Gintoki confronts Kamui, and says Kamui should remember his true title.

When Yorozuya prepares to go home, Takechi comes to see Gintoki. He has an message from Takasugi, and says Takasugi has fought with Oboro a while ago. It's revealed Utsuro and Oboro's past in the battle.

Yorozuya, Katsura and Sakamoto learn Utsuro and Oboro's past. They leave for home, and Umi-bouzu goes on a journey to find something to defeat Utsuro. All of them make a fresh resolution to fight the final battle.
