At dawn, in a muddy field of a dairy farm, a woman and a man lie on the ground, murdered. The one who was to prepare a surprise party in the Laurentians found herself, despite herself, the victim of this tragedy. Constance Forest, chief investigator for the Mascouche regional office, maintains that there is another victim in the area, a certain Nancy Lebeau-Pratt. Antoine Chevrier-Marseau and his superior, Fred Bérubé, both investigators for major crimes in Montreal, come to help Constance and his colleague Jonas.

Will Rodrigue Rancourt accept to provide an alibi to Mike? Joël Savard is still nowhere to be found. The investigators search his trailer and discover several elements incriminating him. The bomb threatens to blow up at every moment. Constance and Frédérik question Mike about his links with Joël Savard. He does quite well by inventing a story but a detail escapes him.

Constance and her team are now tackling three investigations: a triple murder, the assassination attempt on Sylvain and the explosion of the trailer. Constance has good reason to believe that Marlène is involved in Mike Pratt's shenanigans. The priority of the police is to find Joël Savard before his enemies find out first. Rodrigue Rancourt is still missing.

The police identify the assailants of Sylvain. Frédérik takes charge of the interrogation of one of them in order to unmask the one who ordered this failed assassination. Constance is still devastated by the video showing a dead body in the trunk of Sylvain's car. She is out of the business and focuses her energy on the Mike Pratt case.

Frédérik questions Sylvain by showing him the suspicious video. Constance is completely destabilized: the father of her children could well be accused of murder. Jonas watches Mike Pratt closely while he is in a motel with Marlène, Éric and Chose-Pet. An electrical problem at Anne Dupuis could cause her much trouble.

Where are Yvan-Gilles and Joël Savard? Mike Pratt, still a prisoner with Éric Charbonneau, will he manage to make it out alive? Constance and Jonas question Marlène. The attitude of Anne Dupuis begins to sow doubt in Sylvain's head. Fred is not at all excited about Constance's involvement in the investigation of her ex-husband.

Frédérik Bérubé has wanted to meet Anne Dupuis since he knew she was the one who parked Rodrigue Rancourt's car at the casino. Constant panic. With this new information, there is more chance that Sylvain is really involved in the murder of Rodrigue Rancourt.

The American police confirm that Yvan-Gilles gave truthful information to the Mascouche team: the body of Joël Savard was found. While US investigators are gathering solid evidence against Eric Charbonneau, Frédérik and Constance's team must keep an eye on him. While he wants to prove that sculpture really exists, Sylvain leads Constance and his team on a track that will allow them to make an important discovery.

Rancourt's body was discovered on the grounds of Anne Dupuis. Constance, Frédérik Bérubé, Jonas and Antoine must arrest Anne Dupuis and Mike Pratt since the latter had pieces of Rancourt's body in his car. But Constance has a hard time believing that Mike is involved in this story. Rather, she thinks of a set-up. Meanwhile, Éric Charbonneau wants to carry out his plan, eliminate Sylvain so that he does not speak to the police.
