Matthew Blaisdel has returned to get Krystle back and has taken over the Carrington home with help from some Peruvian mercenaries. Alexis is saved from drowning by a mysteriously handsome stranger. Jeff finds Fallon after she disappeared in the Mojave desert.

The hostages have been taken to the old Lankershim-Blaisdel terrain. Blake and the police are on their trail and planning a raid. Fallon decides she wants to go back to Denver.

Blake is asked to run for governor. Steven is dealing with the way he ended the hostage situation. Fallon opens up to Jeff about her UFO encounter.

While Alexis woes her young savior, Sean, Blake prepares to announce his candidacy. Adam, just back from his honeymoon with Dana, thinks he needs to have an offspring to impress his father.

Steven wants to take over his father's football team and reign in hotheaded Josh Harris. Adam's wife Dana is unable to have a baby because of a secret from her past. Alexis offers Sean a job at ColbyCo.

Dana seeks a surrogate mother so she and Adam can raise a child. Sammy Jo rejects Josh Harris' advances. Leslie accepts a job offer from Alexis. Krystle suspects Alexis's newspaper is out to sabotage Blake's campaign.

Surrogate mother Karen Atkinson is pregnant by Adam. Sean takes Alexis away to Mexico and asks her to marry him. When Jeff finds it difficult to Fallon, Leslie takes advantage and grows closer to him.

Just as Blake is making up his mind about which one of his children could best take over his business if he gets elected, he finally learns about Fallon's 'delusion' from Jeff as well as Adam's surrogate baby. Leslie joins Jeff on a trip to New York.

Adam, Steven and Fallon each get a share in Denver-Carrington, but it is Steven who will sit in Blake's chair. Alexis and Sean dig up Dana's past. Jeff and Fallon separate, not in the least because of Leslie.

Eveyone who's anyone in Denver attends Alexis' Charity Fair in medieval costumes. Amongst them, Dana is being blackmailed by Sean, Josh Harris gatecrashes to see Sammy Jo and Alexis has a special surprise for Blake...

Krystle investigates the video tape that caused a scandal for Blake's campaign. Steven has discovered Josh is addicted to cocaine and fires him.

Josh Harris' o.d. threatens to harm Blake's campaign. But Steven refuses to force his football team to take mandatory drug tests. Steven has moved out of Delta Rho and Fallon wants a divorce, so a glum Jeff and Sammy Jo take their sons on a skiing trip.

Alexis has joined the race for governor as an independent and makes sure Blake doesn't make it to their first TV interview. She didn't count on Krystle stepping in for her husband. Dana reveals to Adam that reason why she can't conceive a child.

Krystle is digging into Alexis past. Alexis tries to get her children's support but only Adam will help her campaign. Leslie discovers a connection between Sean Rowan and the late Joseph Aynders.

Steven finally agrees to the Vitron-Oil deal because Adam and Fallon want it. Alexis is considering dropping out of the race, leading Sean to take drastic matters into his own hands.

Alexis has been shot at the start of a live debate and has instantly become a heroine in the public eye. Steven is unhappy about Jeff spending so much time with Sammy Jo. Surrogate Karen Atkinson learns her husband never signed their divorce papers.

Denver-Carrington is not biding well under Steven's management. Alexis offers Blake the position of her Lieutenant Governor if he drops from the race. Adam pays off Karen's husband Jesse.

Jeff has bought enough stock in Denver-Carrington to buy his way in and reinstate Dex Dexter. This means Jeff has to resign as Blake's campaign manager. Karen gives birth to Adam's child. Dex tells Alexis about Sean's true identity.

While Blake investigates Sean Rowan, Alexis is being forced to stay home by him. Adam learns he's a Carrington after all, but now Karen wants to keep the baby for herself. Sammy Jo is unsure if a relationship with Jeff is a good idea.

The custody trial concerning Adam's child begins. When Leslie learns Jeff is divorced and living on his own, she decides to move in with him. Steven and Fallon work together to clear their fathers name in Natumbe. Krystle is suffering from mysterious headaches.

Adam and Dana's marriage is crumbling under pressure of the trial. Meanwhile Alexis and Dex reconcile. Leslie is fired by Alexis. Jeff proposes to Sammy Jo.

Adam is absolved of suspicion in the kidnapping of his son when Leslie calls him to say that Sean has taken the baby and is holding her captive. Finding the location of the call through a wire tap, Adam and Steven hurry to the desolate mountain cabin. They find Leslie badly beaten, but Sean has already taken off with the baby.
