When Dauber becomes a Big Brother to a boy who has no father, Judy begins to feel that he is neglecting their relationship, and Dauber starts to get the idea that the boy has unreasonable expectations for their friendship.

Hayden is named Father of the Year, but Kelly seems to have a different opinion.

Luther gets tired of being an unrecognized second banana to Hayden, but gets his chance to meet the press when a slip-up occurs.

Luther fights to get his favorite breakfast food back on the market, while Howard's wife becomes his secretary.

Hayden and Christine are chosen to star in a series of coffee commercials, although he is unenthused. Christine turns out to be perfect in her role, while Hayden doesn't seem to have any chemistry with her.

When Christine's romantic coffee commercials lead to gossip about her relationship with her co-star, Hayden finds himself questioning her faithfulness, despite her protests.

Kelly is conflicted when her ex sends her $50,000 as a peace offering, but given her finances and his ongoing support, Hayden is horrified when she decides to donate the money. Meanwhile, Dauber is struggling with questions of ethics.

Luther decides to go to Las Vegas to get out of his rut, and Hayden persuades Christine to come along. But once it's apparent that Vegas isn't her ideal vacation spot, Hayden suggests they try once again to get married.

After attending a banquet together, the Burleighs think Hayden and Christine are their new best friends, and are eager to spend evenings together - but it gets to be too much. Meanwhile, Luther tries out dating though the classified ads.

A former star player returns to Minnesota State to announce his retirement from the NFL, but hidden beneath his retirement lays a personal battle with cancer brought on by steroid use.

Luther's memories of a 'Dear John' letter he received during the Korean War threaten to jeopardize his relationship with Lorraine.

Hayden's obsession with playing practical jokes on everyone during the off-season goes too far when he pushes Judy past the limit and she confronts him. Luther, meanwhile, watches as a hobbying mishap spins beyond control.

When Christine is frustrated by yet another failed job interview, she fears that she's considered too old for television and contemplates a drastic move. But Hayden has difficulty comprehending her thinking about getting a face lift.
