Fernando is abducted in front of his wife Lucía and his son Adrián and a huge ransom is demanded. Meanwhile Diego, a professional footballer gets into an accident, provoked by his rich and spoiled girlfriend Raquel, who wants a marriage.

Fernando lives a double life under the name of Antonio and has an associate, who is a member of the Savaters. Lucía and the others worry about Fernando when Adrián runs to Savater to ask for the money and meets Eulalio. Mónica and Néstor accuse Diego of murdering Raquel.

Fernando celebrates Valentine's Day with Martha and Natalia in a fancy restaurant. Lucía argues with Mónica when she shows up to torment Diego about her sister' death. Adrián meets Andrea, who wants to join he football team and later gets into a fight with Octavio.

Fernando is acting like a tyrant and thinks of his return with his other family. Eulalio has lunch at the restaurant while Lucía is at the church for confession. Mónica runs into Diego at the cemetery and a dirty secret comes to the surface.

Fernando returns and checks into a motel. Elvira believes Lucía never payed the ransom. Diego gets photographed sleeping like a hobo and the González siblings take him in. Cristina urges Adrián to let Lucía have a private life.

A bouquet that Fernando always gave to Lucía appears in the restaurant and everyone starts fussing. Diego demands an explanation from Manuel about a front page article. Eulalio enlightens Néstor on everything that happened to Lucía for these 5 years. Gerardo is ordered to collect the bank loan of Lucía.

Fernando breaks into the house to leave a farewell letter to Lucía but unfortunately his presence is compromised. Meanwhile Mónica, unable to stop thinking of Diego makes a detour to his neighborhood for a chat.

Lucía shows to Luis and Elvira the letter and goes to the bank to settle the matter with the loan. Fernando spends a delightful afternoon with Martha but thinks of his other wife. Andrea punches Octavio in front of the whole school and Adrián. Diego learns about the bank loan from Cristina and Mercedes.

The restaurant is facing foreclosure when Diego stands by Lucía, who refuses to leave quietly. Eulalio uses Adrián' pain to make him face Néstor. Laura settles the incident with Octavio. Fernando declines to take Martha and Natalia on his next job.

Lucía and Diego are in jail when Mónica turns up to gloat and Eulalio takes care of the paper work. Néstor offers Mercedes to secure Adrián' future. Beatriz covers Andrea, who is having a very brief ballet lesson. Natalia strikes a nerve in Fernando asking about her grandparents.

Lucía and Mónica argue again in front of their relatives. Laura offers her friendship and support to Andrea. Adrián is still consumed with the thought of his father. Fernando teaches Martha a valuable lesson.

Diego tells Gerardo about his intentions to pay Lucía' loan but later receives bad prognosis from the orthopedic. Néstor concludes that Mónica is acting jealous. Adrián asks Eulalio for a job. Elvira won't let Luis give some money to Lucía. Mónica and Manuel have a meeting with the priest.

Diego badly fractures his arm after a masked motorcyclist almost runs him down and accepts help from Lucía. Mercedes triggers Mónica' childhood memories about her mother. Néstor wants to know why Eulalio has hired Adrián. Andrea has a chat with Roberto about the ballet.

After a flowerpot almost injures Lucía, the culprit pushes Elvira down the stairs. Andrea is angry with Adrián about his new job. Mercedes interrogates Diego' orthopedic. Néstor talks unwillingly to Mónica about her mother.

Cristina fully supports Lucía' feelings for Diego. Luis shares with Elvira the evidence he took from the roof. Mónica is rejected and focuses on her wedding preparations with Manuel. Eulalio urges Fernando to control his jealousy. Diego gets an advanced check for the match.

Diego gives a press conference about the match while Lucía demands an explanation from Mercedes and Benjamín. Luis gathers a few things of Fernando for a DNA test. Adrián is worried about the fate of the football stadium. Mónica announces the wedding date.

Diego shares with Lucía the identity of his attacker while the inspector makes an investigation. Mónica tips Julieta on the probable fate that awaits the neighborhood. Adrián chooses to go to work instead of seeing Diego. Néstor has an unpleasant conversation with Lucía about Adrián' job.

Néstor is fascinated by Adrián' tough character. Gerardo drinks to find courage to tell Lucía the truth about the bank loan. Diego tries to convince the Savaters not to take away the sponsorship of the match while Andrea with the others share the problem with Adrián. Eulalio gives to Luis and Elvira the DNA results. Fernando returns to Martha.

The whole market witnesses the wrath of Lucía coming down on Mercedes for keeping the bank loan and Diego' health a secret. Beatriz covers for Andrea in front of Roberto with a bogus ballet repetition. Adrián learns of Diego' noble deed and a doubt occurs when Elvira questions the motives.

Lucía has to hide and deny her feelings. Fernando declines to take Martha and Natalia to the match and wants a full refund for the tickets. Andrea avoids going to a ballet concert with her family and Beatriz suggests Laura to come along instead. Mónica pays off a footballer from the other team to sabotage Diego' game.

The match ceases when Lucía gets to Diego and begs him to stop playing while Fernando watches this display on TV. Meanwhile Roberto worries about Andrea and Beatriz comes up with another lie with Laura' help.

Lucía continues to deny her feelings for Diego in front of Adrián but Mercedes knows better. Elvira receives a phone call with instructions that shakes her to the core. The latest x-ray of Diego' knees show a definite surgery is in order. Andrea lies to Roberto again and Laura disapproves.

Fernando gives his version of events regarding the last 5 years and gets a new ally. Mónica breaks down in front of Lucía about her feelings. Julio is outraged after discovering Julieta in bed with Diego. Adrián wants his mother to start a new life and confides this in Luis.

Julieta sets things straight and Lucía goes to Diego to learn everything about his past relationships. Adrián decides to get on with his life and Néstor tells him the truth about his father. Elvira won't have her daughter-in-law and grandson move on.

Fernando can't accept Adrián and Lucía moving on and asks Elvira to spy for him. Luis confronts Néstor about badmouthing Fernando in front of Adrián. Mónica chooses to wear her mother' wedding gown and Fanny disapproves.

Lucía and Diego are on a date while Fernando festers in jealousy. On her wedding day Mónica finds a letter from her aunt Teresa with a dreadful secret. Adrián goes to Paca to help him with a present. Elvira can't stand Lucía' behavior and complains to the priest.

Adrián gets a girlfriend. Lucía is happy with Diego until Mónica shows up and completely breaks down. Padre Pablo is very upset and worried after Fernando' confession and Lucía' new relationship. Olga offers Julio a job at her bar.

Padre Pablo reminds Lucía of Fernando and her marriage and a wave of shame overtakes her. Mónica turns against Néstor and shows Eulalio the letter. Adrián and Roberto bond during Andrea' ballet practice. Diego confides in Julio and Julieta eavesdrops.

Mónica throws herself at Diego again but this time Adrián observes them. Lucía is torn between feelings of love and happiness, and shame and guilt. Fernando tells Eulalio about his intentions of getting back Lucía and Adrián. Luis is certain something weird is going on with Elvira.

Diego gets some legal and spiritual consultation regarding annulling Lucía' marriage. Fernando makes his goodbyes with Martha and Natalia, and returns to put his plan of resurrection in motion. Roberto forbids Andrea having a boyfriend. Néstor summons Adrián to discuss his plans about university.

Adrián finds it difficult and painful to accept Lucía' intention to annul her marriage. Mónica almost drowns. Diego collects signatures from everyone for the court and Elvira is furious. Fernando is found beaten to death by the road and checked into a hospital. Olga makes inquiries in the orphanage.

Fernando wakes up with amnesia while the press manages to snap a photo for the front page. Meanwhile Martha lectures Natalia not to use the newspapers for her school report.

A scandal erupts in the hospital because Diego wants to stand by Lucía and Elvira finds this immoral. Mónica is still obsessing over her impossible love. Olga finds some clues of her son.

Fernando acts like a victim with some recollections of his past and Luis is suspicious. Lucía has to look after her husband and Diego urges her to start a new life. Roberto accuses Andrea and Laura in lying about the ballet. Néstor doesn't believe Fernando was ever abducted.

Fernando is outraged when Gerardo brings the death certificate and everyone on the market express their opinion. Meanwhile Néstor shares with Eulalio his intention of taking the custody of Adrián. Beatriz wants Laura to return but Andrea strongly disapproves. Carlos aids Martha finding the Leira name in the phone book.

Fernando plays the bigger man as he gives Lucía his blessing to run off with Diego and Adrián is devastated. Andrea calls her mother Eleonora. Mónica shares with Eulalio her wish of meeting Fernando. Roberto asks Laura to come back and take over the house duties. Fanny opens up about her past.

The tension between Fernando and Diego escalates in front of everyone at the market and Lucía is in a terrible position. Elvira intercepts a call from Martha and tells her son. Eulalio objects hiring a PI to investigate Fernando and Mónica concludes something weird is going on.

Fernando takes Martha and Natalia to an ice cream parlor when all medias show footage of Diego caring injured and unconscious Lucía to a hospital. Néstor puts his foot down on all Mónica' impulsive and crazy actions. Eleonora promises Andrea to return for good.

Lucía comes to and clears Diego of the charges. Mónica suffers a shock when meeting Fernando. Néstor is unhappy when his brother-in-law Alberto turns up and clarifies his intentions of seeking revenge. Eulalio enlightens Fernando about his uncle' interest in Adrián.

Lucía storms into Néstor' office and he tells her about his intentions towards Adrián. Olga opens up to Mercedes about the identity of her long lost son. Diego informs Silvano of his wish to resume with his football career. Fernando unveils a secret to Adrián. Natalia shares with Martha her suspicions about Fernando.

Diego won't have anything to do with Olga. Lucía wants a divorce and throws out Fernando. Julio asks Mónica for the money for Diego' operation. Roberto tells his daughter the truth about Eleonora. Adrián takes his father' side.

Dirty secrets are unveiled when Martha turns up at the market. Adrián feels betrayed, renounces Lucía and has a talk with Néstor about his future. Mónica can't accept Diego being in love with another. Olga prepares to leave.

Mónica swallows a lot of pills. Adrián starts acting like a swine and Andrea is disappointed. Diego and Dr. Viloria schedule the knee operation. Fernando presses Eulalio for a big and better office. Martha begins work as Roberto' secretary. Alberto tells Lucía of all his plans to hit Néstor.

Three years have passed and all high society people gather at a fashion show but everyone is shocked to encounter Alberto' wife.

The cocktail party is in full swing as Alberto and his wife look at everyone with contempt while Fernando tries to keep it together and brainwashes Adrián. Mónica is paranoid more than ever for the future of her marriage.

Diego finds a way to talk to Lucía but is surprised from the change in her. Alberto is getting worse. Néstor wants to use Adrián as a spy to learn the secrets of his foes. Diego is hospitalized and Julio blames Alberto. Mónica offers to Lucía her friendship. Mercedes has two suitors. Gilberto is tutoring Adrián. Lorena discovers slinky lingerie in Luisa' purse. Nelly throws out Armando. Martha and Roberto are on their way back wondering what could have happen to Carlos.

Lucía gets dreadful news. Néstor is certain that Mónica is behind Diego' assault. Adrián is making Mireille very uncomfortable. Fernando and Elvira are blinded by greed and devise a plan for a reconciliation with Lucía. Nelly asks Lorena to come back. Chava begs Flora to find a psychiatrist.

Fernando asks Néstor for help in order to legally reinstate his marriage with Lucía. Andrea feels awful and ashamed. Chava and Adrián brag about their dates. Mónica is on the verge of being seduced. After the assault Fernando coaches Adrián to act happy about it in front of Lucía. Diego plans his future. Eleonora offers Andrea to move in with her. Fernando is arrested and at the police station Mónica enlightens Adrián on some horrifying things in his father' past. Eulalio cancels the deal about buying the property because sees through Néstor' entrapment. Andrea apologizes to Martha and gets the chance to meet Carlos. Beatriz dumps Hernán. Mercedes tells Eulalio the truth about Fanny.

Adrián feels betrayed and won't change his opinion of his mother. Lucía visits Fernando in jail. Mercedes presents to Néstor her suitor. Fernando gets a cellmate.

Martha gets good news. Mireille is sacked and Dora quits. Adrián drops the mask completely. Fernando is moved to prison. Eulalio prepares the final move to bankrupt Savater. Andrea is worried about the so-called exposing photos. Roberto punches Hernán. Mónica signs the papers while Diego enlightens Manuel on the real nature of the Savaters.

Fernando falls on the radar of some prisoners. Néstor refuses to pay for Elvira' current lifestyle and she cries and begs Lucía for forgiveness. Roberto isn't pleased with Andrea continuing living with Eleonora. Mireille asks Nelly to find her a job at Fenix. Dora won't accept Hernán' check.

Fernando contacts Luisa with instructions for his son' birthday. Mireille and Dora start work at Fenix. Eleonora and Mercedes discuss the wedding dress.
