After four days away, Ricky returns from his holidays to find the Acropolis Café a disaster area with an exploded coffee machine, broken cash register and a mountain of unfinished paper work.

Effie makes a bet with Liz that she wouldn't fall for Jim after a date with him.

With Liz going away over the long weekend with her classic literature class, her replacement causes quite a stir with Jim who falls head over heels for her. Memo just wants to figure out where she's from (Jim's a little confused too).

Jim receives a chain letter promising fame and fortune yet warning of impending disaster if ignored. Ricky and Liz advise him to ignore it but no sooner is the letter destroyed than Costas phones to tell Jim he's selling the café.

Temptations abound when Memo decides to become a Greek Orthodox priest. Ricky does his best to replace Memo as the Acropolis Now's head waiter.

Jim holds a beauty contest at the cafe with Effie as one of the contestants.

After Ricky's friend leaves her baby at the café, so she can go on a date, Ricky is left to look after her when Jim and Memo go to a Soccer match.

Jim gives Liz his grandmother's diamond ring so she can estimate it's price although she believes that he is proposing to her.

Effie and Sophie ask Jim for a job at the cafe, Rick tells them they can't afford to hire more staff just now. Liz and Rick suggest they try the employment agency. Jim tells Effie if she can get a job,Memo and he will be her slave for a week.. Effie and Sophie get a job at Macarthurs, but lose it the same day. Next day they get a job at the bank and Jim and Memo lose the bet.

After Jim and Liz watch a Shakespeare play, Jim decides to make his own version of Shakespeare at the café.

Memo searches for a husband for his sister, Aphroula. Jim finds the perfect candidate, but when he walks off with Memo's new French girlfriend, someone will have to step in.

When Ricky tries to get the café's books in order for an audit by the Tax Office, he gets more than he bargained for - all of Costas' books are in Greek. Is Jim's new girlfriend too good to be true?

When Ricky's old friend comes to the café, Ricky has a decision to make; to re-join the Jazz band or to stay at the café.
