Brett Sooner, a Major League Baseball player is hired at a Milwaukee news station over the protests of the fiery producer Meg O'Donnell.

Meg would like to keep her birthday a secret but Brett makes it public knowledge when he broadcasts it to all of Milwaukee.

Brett hires a woman from an escort service to pose as a heart surgeon and be his date at a media-awards banquet to prove to Meg that he can get a classy date.

Brett is challenged on air to mix it up in the ring by a woman after his on air jabs demeaning female pugilists.

Richard attempts to make it appear that he is on TV celebrating the retirement of a stadium organist when he is actually participating in a bar dart tournament.

Glenn is devastated when Meg refuses his marriage proposal so Brett offers him use of his Malibu beach house and consoles Meg.

Brett strains his back and Christine Armstrong wants to interview him about what he has been doing during the Major League Base baseball strike.

Meg is desperate to find a date to see a classic foreign language film that Brett claims is a well-known make-out movie.
