Unfazed by her discovery and determined to emulate her idols' success, Maimai convinces Koutarou to let her join Franchouchou so she can help keep their secret.

One day, she happens upon Kiichi Momozaki, a local young man who is determined to restore Saga's name following the prefecture's dissolution in the Meiji Restoration. Kiichi becomes smitten with Yuugiri and later visits her to offer a gift.
