Ned and Danni Bourke arrive in the peculiar town of Wormwood, where they discover swamps burping, eggs are coloured blue, and super-size worms are the pillar of the town's economy.

Ned steals soup while on a school excursion that gives him super powers, but the side-effects might cost him an arm and a finger.

The pond scum used for feeding the worms in Wormwood has vanished, and production of Wormgold is grinding to a halt. Danni sets out to get the worms working again - but instead drives them away.

Ned eats some of Grandma Schnozz's ice cream with surprising results, while Sally has a running nose - literally.

Ned and his grandpa go on a road trip together where Ned has a close encounter of the weird kind with Basil, the Spitting Rat.

The Bourkes visit Yabbidandarup, Grandpa's home town. There they are shocked to discover its famous yabbies have disappeared.

It is time for Wormwood's annual Bat Harvest. Since the town is without a Bat Piper; Danni is chosen to charm the bats with music.

The Wormwood kids and the Spirit of the Forest are infected with the dreaded Reversitis, resulting in everyone moving and speaking backwards.

Ned's valued watch is dropped down a giant worm tunnel. Ned and Sally set off down the tunnel to retrieve it, only to become trapped underground themselves.

Danni swaps places for a day with her fun-loving mirror image, only to find herself stuck in mirror-world.

Ned and Danni inform Sally about the prophecy of the 'See-Shell' - a strange-looking clam with an ability to foretell the future.

A nefarious plan to make the Spirit of the Forest work harder backfires when the Spirit starts attacking anything that threatens the local ecosystem - including people.

The whale from the See-Shell prophecy comes tumbling down and Gloria returns to town with a plan to destroy Wormwood.
