On the day Rory's mum and Dawn's dad are getting married against their kids' wishes, Rory receives a strange doll with a head shaped like an eaten apple, supposedly from his dead father, with carnivorous mutant caterpillars hiding inside.

In an abandoned refinery perched above Terngabbie, Appleman is seen placing virus-infected frogs into a container. Appleman describes his plan to inflict further terror on the people of Terngabbie...

Appleman contaminates the town's milk supply with his new virus that causes rage, mutations and sickness. Meanwhile, everyone is preparing for the school race.

Rory hated doing chores and complains angrily as he puts out the garbage. Why is this family so messy, why can't they be good recyclers like worms? Eileen tells him his ideas are just too fanciful...

A fast food outlet has opened up in town. Open around the clock and located close to school it is doing a roaring trade. Especially in one item, the apple fritter. Once you taste one you just have to keep coming back...

Rory and Dawn are on school holidays. Jack asks Dawn to work as rouseabout in the shearing shed. Rory was hoping to assist and is hurt and feels left out...

In the school hall, the students are putting up decorations for the big dance. Appleman lurking backstage learns, that Rory's in charge of the drinks and plans to make Jack's famous homemade lemonade...

Appleman is on the alert when Jack, Eileen, Dawn and Rory argue over a camping trip. Jack wants the family to do more things together. But Dawn hates camping - she remembers the last incident with the Creepers...

At the refinery workshop, Appleman is preparing to wreak havoc in the family day out. Nothing new - for years the refinery was a major pollutant in the bay. The local counsel is prepared to runt a blind eye to the problem.

Rory is in trouble at home because of his failure to keep his room clean. He can't understand the problem as he has to live in it and the mess doesn't worry him. Jack and Eileen give him an ultimatum...

Appleman toils away with his latest creation, a digital version of the virus that is contained on a computer disc. He plans to infect all the local computers and make them crash to frustrate and upset their owners...

Friday the 13th is approaching and Dawn is holding a girls pyjama party. When Rory is asked to stay in his room on the night he tells Dawn that he would rather sleep in the yard. Dawn says she will hold him to his word...

Appleman has been sulking around the local gym. He thinks this is a perfect environment to ply his latest product: Red-N-R-gise health drink.

Dawn is learning to water ski as Rory watches from the shore while stuffing his mouth with sweets. Dawn warns him his teeth will rot. Appleman listens outside a dentist's office. He likes the sound of the screaming.

Dawn is failing her science class. She tries hard but her heart and head isn't in it. She doesn't want to tell her parents and promises the teacher that she will do better.

Dawn gets a new pet. A parrot. It squawks all night. Rory can't sleep. He wants Dawn to get rid of it. Dawn says no.
