Nik, a brilliant psychiatric nurse at Wakefield Hospital, gets a song stuck in his head, triggering deeply repressed memories he can't shake. Linda, his manager, lands in hot water when she commits a public act of vandalism.

Raff's loyalty to Genevieve is tested when her hypersexual behavior runs rampant throughout the ward. Still plagued by the fateful tune, Nik inadvertently injures Tessa when he steps in to protect Linda, harming his chances at a promotion.

Confusion and pressure mount for Nik as he finds himself under investigation for injuring a patient. Nik's sister, Renuka, asks him to search for a precious family ring that once belonged to their mother, unveiling a tragic backstory.

Trevor scores a date with a shop assistant in town after tricking her into thinking he's a nurse. Still piecing together memories of his trauma, Nik struggles with a distressing feeling he's observing himself from outside of his own body.

James suffers a violent overdose after experiencing a catastrophic loss of identity. Linda's attempt to win over her colleagues goes awry when she gets some bad advice. Nik's mother comes bringing tragic memories of his brother with her.

Raff discovers Genevieve does not remember their wedding day due to memory loss from her ECT treatment. Collette discovers the truth about Linda. Nik learns his job application was successful and decides to act on his desire for Kareena.

A violent new patient proves to be too difficult for Rohan to handle. Kareena admits concern for Nik in a moment of unguarded passion. In the lead up to Renuka's wedding, Nik realizes details around his brother's death aren't adding up.

Nik is ejected from his sister's wedding, when he returns to work a missing puzzle piece unravels his already broken psyche. Resulting in a flood of memories returning in a disturbing final way.
