Back home, with nowhere to live, Jess and Josh temporarily bunk in with Nick, Fiona and their newborn daughter Chloe. But when Jess awakes in the middle of the night spooning Josh in a sexless marriage of convenience, all scored to the sound of a crying baby, she gets a glimpse of a life she never thought she would have.

On a quest to find her hidden talent, Jess looks to her roots for guidance, finding herself with a packed lunch and a hard hat ready to work for her Dad as a building apprentice. Josh decides to turn his photography passion into a career, enrolling in a part time course dedicated to building up an impressive photography folio.

Jess hangs up her hard hat and starts working at the local cinema as an usher. When she spies Billy and his new girlfriend in the line for a romantic comedy, their public display of affection sends Jess on a one-track mission to get Billy back!

When Josh sees Jess creeping out of their gorgeous housemate Dan's bedroom early one morning, he immediately assumes she has slept with him. While Jess' name gets cleared, Billy takes matters into his own hands, sentencing Jess and Josh's friendship to community service to mend the obvious underlying issues of trust.

When Jess and Josh bump into an old friend who has made it big in Hollywood, Jess falls back into old habits and finds herself lying and saying she too has been quietly pursuing an acting career.

Jess, not willing to sit around and wait for the perfect part to be handed to her, decides it's time to take control of her own career and make a reel to show case her range and diversity. Needing Josh's camera and filming expertise to get the job done, Jess offers to become the subject of his uni project as a trade-off.
